The Park Plaza Hotel is a charming, quaint, gem located in the center of Winter Park’s Historic District. There is so much to see and do in this area. We shopped William Sonoma, Talbots, Pottery Barn, Lululemon or little boutiques and stores. We visited the Morse Museums, walked through Rollins College Campus, and took a scenic boat ride. The Hotel is within walking distance from it all. The staff is friendly and welcoming. They always had bottles of water and coffee ready.

Loved the quaint, old fashioned aspect of the hotel. Location was excellent with plenty of shopping and great restaurants within walking distance. The only negative was the elevator is a hit or miss if it works. Staff is very friendly and accommodating.

No service as far as breakfast, had to go to Lobby to get water or coffee toilet broke last morning and had to use restroom in adjoining restaurant no apologies or any type of compensation several people left hotel very disappointed

Very warm feeling lobby area with 24 hour staff, coffee and tea. Our upgraded room was a suite near stairs with a great balcony and 2 rooms Complimentary valet parking included Extremely nice staff.

Staff was extremely courteous and. Helpful. The facilty is what you would expect for a 1920s facility.Bathroom was tiny, no fan and a threshhold at about 6'2" which resulted in an abrasion on my scalp given my 6'4" height. Shouldn't have to duck. No restaurant in spite of promise on website.Generally disappointing at $215 per night. If you are looking for quaint, fine, comfort not so much.

Quaint historic hotel so the rooms were very clean and well appointed but the actual structure is dated as you would expect being historic. Walls are very thin and you can hear your neighbor cough! They provide earplugs in the room. Sweet hotel for a nights stay! Super nice staff

I stayed at the hotel with 3 friends. We had 2 balcony suites. The staff were wonderful, welcoming and ready to help. The balcony over the main street was truly one of the best assets for the hotel. We would have appreciated a coffee maker in the room rather than having to get dressed to go down to the lobby in the morning. Our room smelled a bit musty when the outside door was left closed.

I have a love for history, and this property is unique and has such potential...but alas, the history at the PPH is written with clogged tub drains, sticky floors, dirty carpets and threadbare furniture. If i could change only one thing, I would have stayed at the Alfond. Tighten ip this ship before it sinks!

Beautiful old place. Great concierge & location (minus the train whistles). Comfy room and bed. There were self-tanner handprints in my shower and the balcony was too dusty/dirty to sit on. Not a lot of natural light. REALLY thin walls.

The property is definitely in a great location and the bedding was very comfortable. The bathroom and shutters need some love. I saw the cleaning girls but they don’t even have a vacuum. The hallways smell musty and carpets could use a good shampooing. There was dog hair in the stair ways and hallway's. They do supply ear plugs for the noise.

I have so much affection for the Park Plaza and the people working there were all great. But the unclean condition of the rooms and balcony, hallways, etc… was kind of shocking. No consistency with the cleaning. I tried 4 different rooms, stayed in 2. Some of the furnishings were dilapidated, unclean, broken, etc… from room to room the TV was smaller and not user friendly. Fans were not very functional, a lampshade was broken, all the wicker/rattan furniture was filthy and the seat cushions too. In my room the cushion cover was gone and they haphazardly tucked a big dirty old sheet around it!! Also my mattress in one room was ok and in the next was hard and flat as a pancake,…with no mattress cover!! I could go on and on but I was too tired and so in need of a rest, I just stayed and waaaay overpaid. Oh I don’t think I ever heard a vacuum and my room was filthy with dog hair and wads of dust balls. Sorry to report all this but no one seemed to care or clean properly. I also found both rooms had a “junk drawer” full of tourist brochures, outdated tv instructions, junky menus, etc… the staff cleaned out the drawers after I asked them about it, but did no other things to assist my communication to them. I even turned away the maids for 4 days because they barely cleaned anyway and had no proper equipment.

Staff was friendly. The rooms are very small though and the tv was toddler size. Not having free parking at hotel was a drawback. My windows were unlocked which is not very safe. Overall it was an alright hotel but I wouldn't stay there again

Great location, but paper thin walls and windows. They are not kidding when they give guests earplugs and say a white noise machine is available. We could hear EVERY single thing from our connected room. The Mediterranean restaurant across the street pumped music until midnight. Definitely not the place to go for a restful night.

What a great hotel…. old English style with legit hardwood floors in the rooms and lots of character. Smaller euro style bathrooms and can a be bit noisy but very comfy and nice balcony overlooking Park Ave. Will definitely be back-

This is a nice historic hotel located right in the middle of downtown Winter Park on Park Av. Valet parking is a must. The standard room ( what we stayed in) reflects the basic nature of rooms from the past. The A/C is very quiet and queen sized bed comfortable. If you are going to stay very long, spring for a Suite w/King-sized bed and a sitting area.

The service was amazing. The front desk and the valet attendant were great, professional and welcoming. The hotel is old which we were okay with but the room we were in was so muggy, had a strong smell (a scent covering a bad smell) and the air conditioner had a bright light that wouldn’t turn off with the remote. The bed was not comfortable and the view was not a view. This room was one of the worst rooms I’ve ever stayed in. I wanted to love it and return, but afraid that the room will be as bad and as uncomfortable.

The property is old. The room was small, bathroom is smaller. The toilet is so close to the tub, there is little room to sit without your knees inside the tub. There was some goo on the night stand. The door joining the room next door was unlocked and ajar and does not have a lockable door from the other room. Bathroom renovations left the tub looking rough. They give you earplugs for free which tells you something of the proximity to the trains passing by. Other than its location it is not worth the money.

What a great location! Spacious rooms. Coffee and tea service in lobby was terrific! Loved sitting in the balcony in the morning and evening. It’s a historic hotel so, yes, it’s a bit dated. But the features were overall great. Slept well!

I’ve stayed at this hotel many times with great success. However, this time was different. I had some friends staying at the hotel before we got there. The night before we arrived there were many cars broken into in the parking lot. Not sure how that’s possible with all the security they supposedly tout. When we checked in, which always takes longer than it should at this hotel, we were told that the air conditioning was not working very well. Mind you it was 97° outside. After having been in the heat all day, helping my daughter move in to her college apartment all I wanted was a nice warm shower. However, when I went to take a shower, the water was cold. I decided to skip the shower and go to dinner. The maintenance man came up and said they will look into it and hopefully have it back up before you get back. We came back and went straight to bed. The next morning we got up and alas, still no hot water. These things happen. However, what really irks me is I tried to call and talk to a manager before we left and I couldn’t get anyone to even answer the phone. So I waited until the next day and I called and asked for the manager. I was given the assistant manager’s Voicemail. I left very nice and detailed message and asked for a return call. Here we are a couple days later and no return phone call. They had a chance to make it right, but they chose not to. That’s why I am giving them such a poor review.

Wonderful vintage Winter Park hotel! My family came here in July for my father in law's 90th birthday celebration. We took a red eye from across the country and they gratiously let us check in early. Check-in was fast since we booked through the Expedia app. Customer service was consistent and courteous. Housekeeping daily unlike other hotels. I love fresh towels and a clean room. My bed was comfortable and they have nice pillows not the ones that seem filled with sand.I appreciated the ice water and coffee in the lobby. I would highly recommend this vintage gem!

Park Plaza is a darling B&B style hotel just a short walk to virtually everything in Winter Park. The hotel staff was lovely and extremely helpful.

Check in was super front desk manager as well as assistant were very welcoming and helpful. Property has some amazing charm and the location is fantastic. Friday night stroll, Saturday morning farmers market were hits. Of course because the hotel is over 100 years old the fact that the walls not so soundproof or maybe just the adjoining room door without a door sweep on the bottom allowed our neighbors to be quite loud but some due to disrespect. My wife and I knowing how noise could easily be transmitted made it a point to be mindful of others. Only thing we did not care for is the creaky beds. Comfortable but creaky. If anything could be upgraded it would be this area for the place to be 100% Saya VIP access hotel not sure what that means?

This is the 1st bad review I have ever posted, since usually if I have a bad experience, I will speak with the management. and not write a bad review, but this was so bad in addition to escalating to their management, I am writing this. The issue started when whoever checked in the room next to us really late in the evening were with friends who wanted to party and they were so loud we were up all night. We called the front desk 3 times during the middle of the night (midnight, 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. and the response was so bad from the front desk that it turned a bad situation much worse. The front desk said to us on the phone at 3 a.m. with an attitude "while you are complaining to me on the phone, I can't be doing anything about it". Then when we called back at 4 a.m. since nothing had been done, he said well a few of the people are leaving now. We were treated so rudely by the front desk that it was hard to comprehend. It was a special getaway with my niece and she was so upset by this since she was the one calling downstairs and spoken to like that, that it really put a damper on our visit. We were exhausted the only full day we had in Winter Park together.

The first night the A/C was not working at all. We moved into another room where the A/C was working but with a bad performance, liking water ALL night, what made our stay really uncomfortable. The night manager has the nails ( a man) the size of half a finder, was really disgusting. The day managers (except for the last morning) never say "hello" or good morning or good night, the barely noticed us, they were always on their computers (except for the last morning were the new couple was really nice). So, I will not recommend this Hotel at all. Location is fantastic but there are are several options much better than this one.

This is a unique historic property in a great location. You can walk to everything in Downtown Winter Park, which is a lovely area with great restarants, museums and shops. The balcony overlooking the street was nice. The room was smaller than average & the price was a little high.

The Park Plaza Hotel is a charming, quaint, gem located in the center of Winter Park’s Historic District. There is so much to see and do in this area. We shopped William Sonoma, Talbots, Pottery Barn, Lululemon or little boutiques and stores. We visited the Morse Museums, walked through Rollins College Campus, and took a scenic boat ride. The Hotel is within walking distance from it all. The staff is friendly and welcoming. They always had bottles of water and coffee ready.

Excellent location. Historic building. Charming and unique . Be prepared to expect old buildings conditions . If you are a light sleeper you may wake up with outside noises . They need to update the on line info since it offers breakfast but they don’t.

No service as far as breakfast, had to go to Lobby to get water or coffee toilet broke last morning and had to use restroom in adjoining restaurant no apologies or any type of compensation several people left hotel very disappointed

We arrived and the lights were not working, had to use our phones to get around the room. The entire night we heard drops and it turned out that the wall a/c unit was licking. Then we saw that the entire wall had moistures that been there a while. The balcony had no privacy from our neighbors and the shutters would not properly close to provide privacy. Overall horrible experience for the money we paid.

Great location is the only positive thing I can really say about this hotel. I understand the hotel is historic and that’s part of the reason we chose this property but like others have said it’s dirty and in need of deep clean/ Refresh. We booked for 2 nights and left after the first. Reception didn’t seem that surprised when we told them the reasons we were leaving & they never offered us any refund (which I understand when the booking is not refundable) however when it’s down to the state of the place it shouldn’t be the case. I wish I’d read the reviews on here before booking. We paid for a balcony however be aware the balcony is one long balcony that runs past every upper room so no privacy as shared with everyone else and is generally not well kept! The room is quirky nothing level etc and old fashioned which I like but the fact that it’s dirty and the bedding marked / dirty is inexcusable. Windows dirty inside and out Cobwebs on walls Shutters that don’t stay shut General maintenance - just laziness could be such a wonderful place.

For the value the property is perfectly adequate. Staff was available if needed. The rooms are as quaint as they were when the hotel opened in the late ‘70’s. The location is the real asset of this hotel, you are right in the middle of all Winter Park activities.
