We really enjoyed our stay. My only critique would be that the rooms don’t have a fridge or microwave and the ice machine didn’t have a water dispenser so definitely bring water and snacks if you are staying here for more than one night. Otherwise we loved our room, the big jacuzzi in the suite. The area of South Amboy is cool as there are things to do close by and it is nice and quiet at the property especially during the week before Friday. Looking forward to coming back again soon.

This place was actually good. It can yse some updating but mostly good. Only downside no microwave or refrigerator. So when we got Back from the restaurant our food went cold and our drinks were lukewarm even with ice on the property.

The first room we got wasn’t clean but the guy at the front desk was very helpful and got someone over there quick to clean it and change the room for us ! The second room we got smelled very clean it was really nice and big. I wish the bed was a circle or heart shaped like the other ones but other than that i had a great time In the hot tub ! Definitely worth checking it out ! It doesn’t come with breakfast but you get a fancy room. Perfect for Valentine’s Day or just to show your girlfriend you appreciate her.

You pay for what you’re getting. Overall it wasn’t that bad to be honest. We just wanted a jacuzzi, this was perfect for a one night, jacuzzi worked well.

Room was smelling terrible and shower was not working properly. 167 dollars for night was not worth it what so ever. Only good thing was the mirrors and bed was decent. The hot tub was gross and dirty.

They place looked like a scene from the show first 48 where someone was murdered. Place looked and felt unsafe. The room was cold and the heater wasn’t even working properly. The bath room was even colder like it was a meat locker. The room was dingy looking , it felt dirty , the hot tub looked disgusting and it was leaking water onto the floor. Place needs to be shut down if I could rate it no stars I would. NEVER AGAIN !!!

I didn’t like how the room was Dirty! The bed covers and sheets wasn’t changed before our stay. The jacuzzi in the room was dirty and filled with burnt spots. Me & my partner woke up with bumps all over our body and it just happen to look like BedBugs!!! After they moved us to another room, the next room had dirty sheets and covers and we was told that we had to clean it ourselves. The stay was a horrible experience for my 1st time staying there & it cost so much money but don’t even come with a Microwave and a Refrigerator so if you order out, food will go bad and drinks will be warm.

This hotel needs repairs and remolding. The room decor is outdated. Missing broken/cracked tub and floor tiles, needs painting. Musty smell when I first entered my hotel room #133. I booked a "No Smoking" room. Smelled cigarette smoke when the air conditioner was turned on. Bedspread didn't appear clean. Finally, sound of air conditioner like an engine running.

Found bed spread to smell, bed bugs found on the sheets in the morning. Complained to office staff and were not concerned and no call back to fix problem. The toilet didn’t work properly, had to open toilet tank lid to flush toilet. The health department should investigate this hotel.

The room was not clean at all, it smelled like mold, cigarettes, and who knows what else. When I arrived the receptionist tried to convince that my reservation, which I made online ~4h before arrival, wasn’t valid because I didn’t call to double-confirm it after booking (????). After lecturing me at 4am while I was super tired and just looking for a bed to crash on, he proceeded to say my room is actually available and that I can proceed to it. So why the lecture? The receptionist will call you early to “remind you” of the check out time on an unreasonably loud phone. Avoid this place at all costs. Poor hygiene rooms will make you want to puke unless the receptionist did so already.

This is the get away, you never knew existed. My room had a electric fireplace. I connect my phone to the smart t.v. It was clean room. Lots of towels. Jacuzzi was very comfortable with me and my wife.

I arrived a little early to a place that looked rather rough on the exterior, and was told I'd have to pay extra to check in before the appointed time. With no other customers in sight, this seemed rude. I left and killed some time by the shore. When I returned, the manager was much more amenable, and gave me a room with lots of mirrors and a jacuzzi. Too bad I was alone! The next morning it rained heavily, cancelling more sightseeing plans, but I had a nice room in which to hang around.

Do not let Internet pictures, confuse you, made my first mistake by not taking the reviews serious. paid $400 to stay two nights in this dive I could have stayed at a five-star hotel overlooking the water somewhere for this price. Upon arriving, they told me that I chose a smoking room when I know I didn’t therefore they didn’t honor my payment. They told me to get a non-smoking room. It’s additional hundred dollars wow I booked through Expedia so I felt stuck because I wasn’t familiar with the area therefore I paid it, just to walk into a dive of a room which was small like a jail cell, absolutely no amenities nor did anyone come check to change Lennon the pictures online look exceptional however, this is not the case, this place is ran down. I was traveling from Charlotte, North Carolina. Major mistake on my behalf. I need to do better research. This place had huge dents in the doors and was ran down when I asked if I could get a late check out, which would have been an additional hour and a half, of course they denied me unless an additional fee to stay. But that was no issue once I got in because I was ready to leave from the start so I was more than happy to check out early. Lol what a dive you guys need to get your stuff together, it explains why when I looked outside the hotel was hardly booked. No one in the parking lot and still had the nerve to charge me $400 for that spot. happy hunting just know where you are hunting.

The good: Cute small place, great for a quick getaway, only an hour away from NYC, clean, good restaurants within 5-10 minutes driving distance. The bad: There is no way to reserve a specific room. They tell you to enter into the comments section but don't really pay attention to it. They are also a little shady with the pricing, cash vs. credit and what the site says vs. the onsite pricing. Overall we enjoyed our stay, despite the fact the room we originally reserved was given away "Oh I'm sorry, I just gave it away. Didn't notice the comment". That aside, the room was nice, clean and we had a good time, will (probably) return. One thing to note about the tubs - the jets, are located on the bottom, yeah...

I must admit the place is a little out of date and there were burn marks all around the room but I requested a smoker room so hey you when some you lose some. Over all the staff was super sweet I even extended my stay a day! For comfortable bed and super romantic for you and your partner. I would definitely go back for another get away with my husband.

The first room we got wasn’t clean but the guy at the front desk was very helpful and got someone over there quick to clean it and change the room for us ! The second room we got smelled very clean it was really nice and big. I wish the bed was a circle or heart shaped like the other ones but other than that i had a great time In the hot tub ! Definitely worth checking it out ! It doesn’t come with breakfast but you get a fancy room. Perfect for Valentine’s Day or just to show your girlfriend you appreciate her.

I arrived a little early to a place that looked rather rough on the exterior, and was told I'd have to pay extra to check in before the appointed time. With no other customers in sight, this seemed rude. I left and killed some time by the shore. When I returned, the manager was much more amenable, and gave me a room with lots of mirrors and a jacuzzi. Too bad I was alone! The next morning it rained heavily, cancelling more sightseeing plans, but I had a nice room in which to hang around.

The room was not clean at all, it smelled like mold, cigarettes, and who knows what else. When I arrived the receptionist tried to convince that my reservation, which I made online ~4h before arrival, wasn’t valid because I didn’t call to double-confirm it after booking (????). After lecturing me at 4am while I was super tired and just looking for a bed to crash on, he proceeded to say my room is actually available and that I can proceed to it. So why the lecture? The receptionist will call you early to “remind you” of the check out time on an unreasonably loud phone. Avoid this place at all costs. Poor hygiene rooms will make you want to puke unless the receptionist did so already.

We really enjoyed our stay. My only critique would be that the rooms don’t have a fridge or microwave and the ice machine didn’t have a water dispenser so definitely bring water and snacks if you are staying here for more than one night. Otherwise we loved our room, the big jacuzzi in the suite. The area of South Amboy is cool as there are things to do close by and it is nice and quiet at the property especially during the week before Friday. Looking forward to coming back again soon.

The good: Cute small place, great for a quick getaway, only an hour away from NYC, clean, good restaurants within 5-10 minutes driving distance. The bad: There is no way to reserve a specific room. They tell you to enter into the comments section but don't really pay attention to it. They are also a little shady with the pricing, cash vs. credit and what the site says vs. the onsite pricing. Overall we enjoyed our stay, despite the fact the room we originally reserved was given away "Oh I'm sorry, I just gave it away. Didn't notice the comment". That aside, the room was nice, clean and we had a good time, will (probably) return. One thing to note about the tubs - the jets, are located on the bottom, yeah...

The place is very well put together and calm. This is the place you come to for a quick night for yourself, or with a loved one. A place to really get some good rest depending on the circumstances you face in life lol. Yeah, great place. They could work on the smell and of the units and deodorize better but other than that, a very well, put together motel. 8/10.

They place looked like a scene from the show first 48 where someone was murdered. Place looked and felt unsafe. The room was cold and the heater wasn’t even working properly. The bath room was even colder like it was a meat locker. The room was dingy looking , it felt dirty , the hot tub looked disgusting and it was leaking water onto the floor. Place needs to be shut down if I could rate it no stars I would. NEVER AGAIN !!!

Obviously this place was a one night stand type of place. It was convenient to where I needed to stay but that is the only thing it had going for it. No dresser or even a luggage stand. No refrigerator or microwave. Only a bed, a hot tub, a toilet, and a tv.

Jacuzzi was ok , but the room did not have a fridge, no microwave, no closets and bed was uncomfortable. Spent too much money on room to not have the basics . It was very disappointing.

This place was actually good. It can yse some updating but mostly good. Only downside no microwave or refrigerator. So when we got Back from the restaurant our food went cold and our drinks were lukewarm even with ice on the property.

Went for 2 night with my husband, and love it, bed clean ,neat, yacutzzi clean, got my music, and relax...they just need a small fridge to pull any over night. Defenetly coming back ....$145.thr night perfect price....!!

I asked for a refund due to the place not looking nowhere near the pictures & it being so stinky & dirty. I was told I couldn't get a refund. All kinds of being hanging outside our room all night til wee hours into the morning. Horrible experience I really want my money back. False advertisement for sure

This place could seriously use new updates tub was disgusting worn was supposed to be a neon room couldn’t figure out how to light it up it was old run down icky we wanted a jacuzzi room and it’s right around the corner from the marina and we had an early boat trip in the am the person next to us had either tv or radio so loud i went out to ask to have it turned down won’t ever stay again

The place turned out to be really nice for a quick 2 day getaway. The room and bathroom were exceptionally clean and surprisingly the mattress was pretty comfortable. The only issue I had was that the room did not come with a fridge or microwave.
