The owners are fantastic! The ice cream was delicious! You can’t beat the location! The facilities were old fashioned, but well cared for. And I feel they compensated for that with a very reasonable price.

Colonial Inn and Creamery is in a nice central location. The room was clean and equipped with small refrigerator, microwave and toiletries. Check-in was contactless with a door code. Ice cream at the creamery was excellent.

It was very quiet and they made the process for check in and check out seemless. The ice cream onsite was great. Parking was easy and the instructions they provided were very clear about the whole check in process.

The original building was constructed in 1837 so this is an interesting historic building. We selected a traditional inn-style room versus a typical hotel room and were not disappointed. The room was very clean and included a tv,refrigerator, microwave, and air conditioning…all in good working condition. A coffee-bar is located in the guest lobby. A creamery (which offers vegan ice cream for those who should avoid dairy) and out-door pizza and grill are on site. The inn is located 5 minutes walking distance from the main entrance to Watkins Glen State Park. The staff is so very friendly and accommodating, From owner, management, house keeping, and food handlers everyone is your friend. What a nostalgic place to stay in Watkins Glen!

Good location. The room was moldy and musty with lots of cobwebs. Extremely tiny shower. Furnishings were outdated. Not what we expected. We left after one night due to mold and mildew.

The room I stayed in was clearly not cleaned well, visible dust under the bed and someone’s old socks behind the rolling clothing rack. The bed comforter had dark stains on it and was clearly not clean. The bed was set on two small frames which left a gap in the middle that was unsupported, which would start to collapse when laying in the middle.

The Inn is really adorable but definitely needs some updating. The room had beautiful wallpaper, cable tv, and air conditioning but the carpets were torn in spots and they felt dirty. The bathroom floor was also so sticky, my feet were dirty after walking around barefoot. There is also no outlet in the bathroom and there’s no full length mirrors. It is self check in and there wasn’t any people around, it didn’t feel very welcoming. Our mini fridge in our room froze everything we put in overnight. Having the ice cream parlor and room with games and books was a great touch, very old town charm. Location is prime. Walking distance to Watkins Glen State Park, Lake Seneca pier, and lots of restaurants and shops right on the same road. Free and easy parking.

Room in much needed repair. Sheetrock cracked and broken tiles in bathroom. Floor would make your feet dirty. Shower handle was broken. My room was switched and the air conditioning was broken in that room. Both rooms smelled very musty. I ended up after one night on what was a wedding anniversary trip with my wife. Watkins glen is a nice town and beautiful place. I would recommend avoiding staying here

What they call contactless checkin means there is no staff, no front desk, no way to contact them. They provided several phone numbers that nobody would answer and was not set up to accept messages. We left a day early because we could not sleep on the broken bed again, rugs were filthy and constant black flys flying around, grounds were not kept up, very cramped room, just could not look past so many things not to normal standards…

We booked a room in the Inn portion of this property. Our room faced the main road, which made it very noisy at night. There is a lot of truck traffic. The Inn also keeps a light on over the front door and it shined brightly through the thin curtains. The room was a decent size, but it lacks reading lights by the bed and there is no place to sit except for on the bed. Our TV did not work, but that was due to the cable company upgrading they system and not finishing all the rooms. The staff was extremely nice and having a free ice cream cone with our stay was a special extra! The Inn and our room were extremely clean and the bed was extra comfortable.

We didn’t expect a fantastic hotel for the price, but we were disappointed by a doorknob coming off, a broken cabinet drawer, and their free wifi would not come up for my wife and I. The AC filter was also filthy and we had to clean it before using the AC. The location is right in the middle of town, and check in and check out is super easy, so that was the hotel’s saving grace.

The rooms are very bare bones, which is fine at this price point. The office was very good about sending login information and the check Inwas easy. The room was really hot and turning down the heat didn’t matter. We ended up leaving the windows open in Mid March. The hotel is on the main road and the traffic was really loud. I didn’t think there would be so much traffic but there was was. Finally, when one of the other room flushed their toilet, ours would gurgle really loudly.

Bed and pillows were the worst. Both way too soft with no support. Cheap bedframe with no headboard so pillows kept slipping down the between the wall. Only one chair in the room. Shower very small and uncomfortable. Everything was clean and room was recently remodeled, they just need to focus more on comfort. We left a day early due to the bed.

Everything was virtual. Room was okay. Heat was difficult to adjust, room way too hot. Broken blind in bathroom. We had front room on street, lots of noise even with my earplugs. Curtains on windows were not adequate to keep light from porch and street out of room. Probably will not stay here again

In our experience the management/staff seem to believe that contactless check-in also means contactless stay. We had no way to communicate that we had multiple problems (toilet, tv, lights) with our room. I was not able to leave a message with the phone number that was provided, email and text didn’t work. Finally, spoke with someone who was rude and condescending. A bad experience overall. But the free ice cream (which was good) at the on-site creamery helped us feel a little bit better. LOL

The location and the safety was the only thing good about this room. It was part of the main so I felt safe as a solo traveler. But actually checking into the hotel was difficult, had to do everything online and called two people before one of them called me back to let me in so very slow process. I waited in the lobby for quite some time. Then ended up back at my car waiting until someone called me back so I could go in and check in. I could not get the TV on the remote control seem to be dead so I turned it on with a button on the TV but I couldn’t do anything else. So I shut it back up.I called that same number a couple of times to say the room was freezing cold. No one ever called me back. I looked in every closet in every drawer and could not find any extra blankets and could not find any, so I had to sleep in layers of my clothes and my nose was frozen. I only slept a couple hours and could not get warm so I left and went out to my car and warmed up with the seat heaters. I would definitely not come again and I definitely would not recommend.

We didn’t expect a fantastic hotel for the price, but we were disappointed by a doorknob coming off, a broken cabinet drawer, and their free wifi would not come up for my wife and I. The AC filter was also filthy and we had to clean it before using the AC. The location is right in the middle of town, and check in and check out is super easy, so that was the hotel’s saving grace.

We didn’t see any stuff when we arrived at around 7pm as it was contactless check-in. It was clear instruction we received in advance. The room was super clean and kind of a big room. After check-out, we stopped by ice cream store and got free ice cream as hotel guests (free single scoop ice cream for hotel guest)!! Also, location is amazing. We went to Watkins Glen Gorge walk from the hotel which was only a few minutes away. (Park parking is $10/vehicle). Only one thing I wanted to have in the room was a hair dryer. Other than that, it was perfect location and amazing hotel!

I wouldn't do it again. Loved the location and space in the rooms. However, the check-in process was not the best. Instructions said we would get a code on arrival, we did not. Thankfully Mario and Charlene were there to assist. The room we booked was not ready/available so they did provide an alternative and that was extremely helpful. My room's toilet did not flush correctly and I did report. It's so convenient to Watkins Glenn Park and downtown. Perhaps our stay experience was due the culmination of a very large event weekend? Not sure, but we are unlikely to try again.

We booked a room in the Inn portion of this property. Our room faced the main road, which made it very noisy at night. There is a lot of truck traffic. The Inn also keeps a light on over the front door and it shined brightly through the thin curtains. The room was a decent size, but it lacks reading lights by the bed and there is no place to sit except for on the bed. Our TV did not work, but that was due to the cable company upgrading they system and not finishing all the rooms. The staff was extremely nice and having a free ice cream cone with our stay was a special extra! The Inn and our room were extremely clean and the bed was extra comfortable.

The room was very clean,nice bed and furniture and conveniently located in town so we walked to the state park and later in the evening to a local restraunt within a few minutes.and there is a public acess area to seneca lake within a 5min.drive.And a few briew words with the staff and she was very friendly.

The noise from the Main Street was horrific. Even with blankets over windows and ac running to mitigate noise, there was barely sleep. Only after 3 am when truck traffic and locals were asleep did it quiet so the kids could sleep. My family didn’t stay the second night and found other accommodations. Due to paid in full ahead of Time, attempting a refund for 2nd night but it may be lost. It was worth finding other accommodations and spend more than to remain. The inn keeper made a special remark that it’s a 7 day warning to cancel the second night - how was I suppose to know 7 days ahead of time at a place I’ve never stayed… that it would be the worst night sleep at a lodging I’d ever had to cancel the second night. Very little empathy, especially for the kids. The inn was nice otherwise and enjoyed the building and history. But I’d not be returning. I do hope this posting is kept up for others to read, and I’m sure others had a better experience. But not for the other two folks I spoke to in the hallway the next morning. Wish it was better - was excited about the place.

Staff serving icecream on Aug 4 around 7:30 pm was rude. Deliberately kept ignoring us when I asked him till what time they were open. I asked him 3 times for him to respond. He was not busy but just kept ignoring like h dint hear us.

This is a cheap 2 star motel at most. Bed is comfortable and clean but that’s it. No staff here most of the time. Even the coffee machine didn’t work in the morning and no one here to help.

Overall the place is cute. The bed was actually very comfortable. There was no regular coffee out when we went down to get some and the pastries were the same from the night before. The bathroom does not have a door which I was not a fan of but we managed. The bathroom also needs hand towels and washclothes. I would stay again but hope they will put out fresh regular coffee for the morning. You have to text the inn as the front desk is not regualry manned and they never answered with several requests for a slightly later checkout. Even a no would have been better than no answer. Oh well. Id still stay again because the location is ideal and the bed was clean and comfy.

The owners are fantastic! The ice cream was delicious! You can’t beat the location! The facilities were old fashioned, but well cared for. And I feel they compensated for that with a very reasonable price.

The original building was constructed in 1837 so this is an interesting historic building. We selected a traditional inn-style room versus a typical hotel room and were not disappointed. The room was very clean and included a tv,refrigerator, microwave, and air conditioning…all in good working condition. A coffee-bar is located in the guest lobby. A creamery (which offers vegan ice cream for those who should avoid dairy) and out-door pizza and grill are on site. The inn is located 5 minutes walking distance from the main entrance to Watkins Glen State Park. The staff is so very friendly and accommodating, From owner, management, house keeping, and food handlers everyone is your friend. What a nostalgic place to stay in Watkins Glen!

The room was clean, but there were multiple insects in the room. Everything worked but there were holes in the wall and no decor. The self serve check in did not work but when we called the number we were able to check in. Location was convenient. The ice cream was yummy.

My family and I stayed for a long weekend and it really enjoyed the colonial Inn! We had stayed in Watkins Glen before and I think our future stays will be back at the colonial Inn. The room was a tidy, but the AC unit filter hadn’t been cleaned I think ever. Once we cleaned that things were great. Very easy to check in and out. The location is great for walking everywhere.
