Nice newish building. Staff very accomplish. Easy access to our room from the back parking lot. Nice big restaurant, good menu. Licensed. Pool tables, tvs. Pillows are fabulous, comfy crisp bed and sheets. Definitely recommend

Great property overall. The only thing missing was a vending machine to get snacks or drinks from late at night. We arrived on the ferry which didn’t get in till 1 AM and looking for a bottle of water. We were told to walk up to the gas station about 15 minutes down the road, which I’m not about to do with the two year old!

Awesome staff and restaurant in the hotel. However, the hotel does not have a washer or dryer, which would be nice if you’re staying longer.

Kwa'Lilas Hotel is a very nice, recently updated hotel in Port Hardy. Clean and comfortable room, friendly staff, convenient location and easy parking. Good breakfast too. Unfortunately, the main restaurant was closed for renovations and the casual restaurant was closed for sit-down dinner service during our stay due to staffing shortages. Take out was available and was fine.

I really want to give this hotel a good review, but it is interesting how one little thing can ruin a whole experience. Check- in was average, nothing special. The art found in various places in the hotel is beautiful and very interesting. The rooms are beautiful and mostly clean. However, our room had a moldy smell, which improved after we threw open the window and turned on the AC. Unfortunately, our shower drain was completely blocked, which we discovered in the evening when we wanted to shower. We called the front desk to get somebody to come fix the shower. The front desk person said there was nobody else that can help us, and her foot was sore, so she was not going to do it. She really did not care. My husband had to go downstairs and he found liquid plumber. He had to try clean the drain himself, was unsuccessful, and we ended up with no showers. I had to use the bathroom sink to do a partial wash. Hotel guests should not have to clean blocked drains in their room! This is the worst service, and, unfortunately, we won’t return there.

Only criticism is that the cleaners need to do a better job cleaning the shower. There was quite a bit of pink surface mildew in the shower that could be easily wiped off.

advised the reception; 1 point of concern ( from someone who has designed and BUILT many resort hotels!) arrived lte and jumped into a quick shower BUT the residue if soap/cleaner on the shower base made it VERY slippery and treacherous ! No grab rails, no rubber mat- this could be a problem... shower base caulking also mildewed and failing ... otherwise nice stay!

Described as a luxury hotel, is a stretch. The rooms are quite small and in need of a deep clean. Pros: bed is comfy, linens are soft (did have some staining), ample parking, plenty of hot water, scent-free (no artificial air fresheners and the bath products weren’t heavily scented). AC worked well. Location. Wifi was strong. Cons: The shower has various types of mold in the caulking, and lots of dust on the lights and headboards. The fridge setting can’t be adjusted and froze everything we put in it (all our food for the next day’s hike). The bedside lights didn’t work on one of the beds. We asked the front desk for an extra blanket, waited an hour (it seemed like it was a busy time), didn’t get it. Went back later and asked again and was told there wasn’t any. Not one extra blanket in the entire hotel?? Front desk did not appear interested at all when we voiced our concerns. Not within the hotels ability to control, but to note the person above us was either a toddler jumping around or someone wearing heavy boots walking back and forth each night between 11pm-2am. Not sure if it’s sound proofing issue or just that person.

Overall the property was nice, however, our bathroom was not very clean. Like hair still in shower and on floor, looked like it was barely wiped down. Beds looked like they were slapped together and they are rock hard. Staff when we called a couple of times weren’t very friendly, however, when we checked in staff was friendly.

Lovely rooms with decent sized bathroom but no curtains to close across the windows. While the blind limited visibility it didn’t block out sunlight in any way in the morning- bit odd. Turned up just after 4 (check-in time) to be told room was not ready, in fact 3 other couples were told the same thing, and no indication was given as to how long we’d have to wait . having just driven 5.5hrs I had no interest in jumping in car again to find something to kill time so I asked reception politely to go and find out how long and the chap came back with a room key. This is the reason why I am not giving a 5 star review. If checking time is so late in the day and guests stick to that time then rooms should be ready by then. Anyway hotel room was lovely and the fine dining restaurant was very very good so I would use this hotel again

Got a ground level room with someones car parked right at the window looking in. Room was a bit small. Towels were arranged under the sink in a manner that they would definitely get wet as one uses the sink. The hotel was very pretty. We just had hoped for a better experience.

This is an old building elegantly updated with a strong and calming Indigenous presence. However, the old building is still a noisy one with sound transmitted from the floor above and the humming noise of the AC/heater in the room. The beds were very comfortable but the TV cable offerings were meagre.

Everything was great except the tv/channels. I’ve stayed here many times and have had many different rooms and every tv has a scratching sound in the volume. There is very limited choices for tv channels.

The staff at the hotel was very good. We got off the ferry from doing the inside passage at 12:30 AM and we went straight to the hotel and the staff were all up and ready to assist us even given the late hour. The beds were exceptionally comfortable and the room was very clean and decorated lovely. We would definitely stay here again considering how easy it was to get there after getting off the ferry so late. We were on two motorcycles and the parking was very easy and convenient for us. Because we stayed at the hotel we got 20% off food in the restaurant as breakfast is not included. It also had a really cute gift shop with indigenous themed items. We would absolutely stay here again.

The front desk staff were amazing, as were the beautiful rooms! Beds and shower were great, room clean, and the check in process pleasant. There is a small gallery upstairs that is worth a visit, and the connected pub has great breakfast options. I checked in around 1am after getting off the ferry from Prince Rupert, and would highly recommend staying here if you're in Port Hardy!

It took a long time to check in as there was no one at the front desk. They have a bell. When I went to ring it, the person in front of me told me "I have have already rang it, but no one showed you. It was only when I rang the bell in an annoying manner someone showed up. I asked the front desk when I arrived if they had an iron. I was told - no they don't. I called the front desk the next morning and asked if they had an iron, they stated yes they do. I Left a the hotel's card on my door asking for maid service, but my room never got made up. I went to the restaurant on site, I took a long time before I got served. I tried to flag down one of the servers. She just walked by and said bruskley. "Your server will be with you shortly".

I called the front desk the next morning and asked if they had an iron, they stated yes they do. I Left a the hotel's card on my door asking for maid service, but my room never got made up. I went to the restaurant on site, I took a long time before I got served. I tried to flag down one of the servers. She just walked by and said bruskley. "Your server will be with you shortly".

The hotel on its own was absolutely fine. It was the poor service of the reception personnel which disappointed us the most. First our room wasn’t ready until 6:15 pm, while check-in started at 4pm. No time estimate was given when we arrived shortly after 4pm. Second, we noticed that the toilet in our bathroom wasn’t clean. We requested that it would be cleaned the next day (reported it to the receptionist), but nothing had happened when we came back to the hotel in the evening. We had our dinners at the pub of the hotel. One has to wait to be seated, but personnel was so overwhelmed that we waited 15 minutes at the door. At some point we simply sat down and service was much better after that. It seems to us that housekeeping and other personnel couldn’t deal with the number of rooms booked. The hotel had no vacancies left for the two nights we were there, so all the rooms must have been occupied. Personally I would book another accommodation when visiting Port Hardy next time.

Everything at the hotel is new and very well designed. The beds are very comfortable. There is a pleasant scent in the lobby. I arrived with a large number of people at the same time and the lady at front desk quickly and efficiently checked everyone in. GREAT SERVICE!

They went out of their way to help me when I had an issue with my suitcase. Excellent service and friendly people. Also, someone is always there to help when coming off the late ferry after midnight.

Bathroom was not very clean. Numerous items on the menu were not available, we didn’t have to pay for our meals, but very unfortunate that a restaurant does not have the appropriate amount of food, especially when the room is costing nearly $300, simply out, it was disappointing.

Kwa'Lilas Hotel is a very nice, recently updated hotel in Port Hardy. Clean and comfortable room, friendly staff, convenient location and easy parking. Good breakfast too. Unfortunately, the main restaurant was closed for renovations and the casual restaurant was closed for sit-down dinner service during our stay due to staffing shortages. Take out was available and was fine.

A very comfortable hotel, with good comfy beds. We checked in after 4pm and our rooms(2) were not ready, we waited in the bar/restaurant area and had a drink for around 30 minutes before being able to get our rooms. We had a meal in the restaurant, which was very busy, and the service was quite slow. The food could only be described as mediocre.

This hotel exceeded our expectations! The décor and whole vibe was authentic, intentional, and very well kept. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, and we were blown away by the restaurant and pub. The pub’s food was excellent quality. Top notch- I will only stay here next time I visit!

Very nice hotel, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Only complaint was the air conditioners were in need of service - they seemed to be relatively new and efficient, but the fans were rather noisy. A friend's room was very quiet. I tried two rooms - both quite noisy. Luck of the draw, I guess. Fortunately , the evenings were cool and I could leave the window open. But otherwise, a very nice hotel.

The only complaint is the deposit held for a room is more than the cost of the room!! At $250 for a deposit is ridiculous- not even in downtown Vancouver is this what we pay for a room deposit. Also took time to get it back as it was supposed to be automatic but I had to inquire about the refund, twice. Nice hotel other than that poor policy.
