Easy access from I91. Very nice staff, reasonable pet friendly fee, and spotlessly clean. The rooms are basic, updated, clean and the beds are comfortable. Plenty of room to walk the dog. Note to dog owners, fewer hotels are pet friendly now, please treat the ones that are with respect, and pick up after them - don’t ask me why I mention this!!!!

There on business 4th time. They accommodated my 1am check in pleasantly. ( I advise to call ahead as a courtesy). Just off Rt 91. Clean, well maintained room and bathroom, comfortable bed, adequate room temp control, best price locally. I even saw children using a fenced in playground. That's it...

Staff was welcoming and very professional. The breakfast was ample, fresh, easy with variety, and I love those fresh waffles. My room was very large with lots of towels and toiletries and an iron and ironing board. Natural beam ceilings. Very tidy and clean and the parking was very well lit and safe feeling. My one concern in room 202 was that the plumbing in the bathtub did not flow out well when I ran the shower, but that's an easy thing to fix and I bet that the conscientious staff will immediately see to that with this report. It was a great stay, so easy off the highway, pleasant even though I arrived around midnight, and I'd return. While I was unable to stay in town long, I learned from a fellow guest that there is good recreation in the area. I think the owners take a lot of pride in the property, treating me with formality and friendliness, and that was lovely!

Like others have said, don't judge the inside by the outside. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. I loved that my room had a functional bathroom window! Breakfast included waffles, oatmeal, cereal, toast, pb, yogurt, etc. Coffee was so-so. There is also in-room coffee, with fridge and microwave. There might not be a pool but there is a small playground for little ones. Pet rooms do not have king beds.

We've stayed at the Putney Inn multiple times, because it is clean, quiet and right off the main roads. The rooms are large and well laid out, so we have room to spread out. The property is dog-friendly and the entrance area is large enough to place her dog bed and food bowl. There is also a large,secluded area in back to walk her. The owners are nice and eager to make your stay enjoyable. We will definitely stay there again.

The website showed it as an inn, not an old Motel. The room smelled musty when we went into it and when we opened the sliding glass door to let in some air, there was black mold along the rim that the glass door rode on.

Beware! One of the beds in our room was crawling with ants, near the foot of the bed. We had arrived late at night and gone to bed immediately, and only discovered the ants after my wife had felt itchy and unable to sleep. After a fitful night, we reported the ants to the front desk first thing in the morning, and the clerk told us 1) any complaint would have to be filed with Hotels.com, and the motel couldn’t help us directly, and 2) the expected refund would only be 25% of the nightly charge. There MUST be better options than this in the region!

Probably good for a one night stay, not four nights. Pros. Right next to the highway exit. Conveniently located. Beds were comfortable. Area is lovely. Cons. Their breakfast area could use a cleaning and hot coffee. The place looked rundown and unkempt. Ceilings had moldy patches and there was peeling paint on walls and ceilings. Towels were stained with rust or other.

Online ratings did not line up. The outside of the property is run down. The room smelled musty and had to put air conditioning to try to get rid of the musty smell. Very few options in the area so had to stay. Breakfast was sparse

The location was quiet and the room was spacious and comfortable. There were 3 spiders in the tub and the hair dryer did not work. We had breakfast elsewhere because the continental breakfast provided was very limited and the dining area was not attractive.

The room was very damp and musty and needed numerous cosmetic improvements. Torn carpet, mold in the grout and paint peeled off the walls. All of the lighting was poor. Coffee at “breakfast” was weak and not much else to go along with it!!!

I have stayed at the Inn multiple times and was very pleased. This visit, our room was not as nice as usual. There was a strong musty smell upon entering that eventually subsided after we opened the windows. The bedding was mismatched, the rug was frayed, and the lighting was poor. It just didn't present a welcoming atmosphere, nor was it the kind of room I was accustomed to staying in while at the Inn. Still a good stay, but the room could use some attention.

Convenient stopover on our road trip. Large rooms and comfy beds. Great location just off the highway, yet quiet. Rooms were a little dated (decor), but good enough for a 1 night stay. Limited restaurant options nearby as we stayed on a Weds night (some places closed mid week). Overall good value for money.

Nice little motel, conveniently located, quiet. Our room (2 queen beds) was spacious. The property looked a bit tired inside, and the room had faint musty smell. Other than that, it was a good place to stay for a couple of days. I’d stay there again.

This is the most basic of accommodations. The breakfast bar is a sad state of mealy apples, bagels, and cereals. Thin walls/noisy neighbors/and no drinking water offered. The room was clean but very rough and in dire need of updating; it also smelled musty. This is basically the Rosebud Motel from Schitt’s Creek but no David or Moira to entertain.

The Putney Inn is very comfortable and friendly. Love that there is a mini-fridge and a microwave in the room. Also the coffee maker is handyeven though there was excellent coffee in the office every morning. The room needs some updating. The carpet was frayed by the door. The bathtub was a bit stained. Also the design choices were sad. There are two prints in the room with exactly the same scene. It would be nice to have some lighter brighter colors for the bed, curtains, and carpet. Overall, the room was nice, clean, and comfortable. Would recommend to anyone staying in Putney

A nice, quiet place right off I-91. Room was large and bed very comfortable. Refrigerator larger than minibar, microwave, ironing board all bonuses. Breakfast was basic continental, with waffle maker.

The room and bathroom were incredibly clean, which was great. Check-in was easy, and it was nice to be able to get some simple breakfast items in the morning. This Inn does not get 5 stars from me because the shower is not great (mediocre water pressure) and the Wi-Fi was spotty too often. It's a very good choice for the price, in an area without a ton of options, and I would definitely return.

I don't normally leave reviews, but Putney Inn is well worth a review. April at the front desk went WELL over the top to make my stay amazing. She gave me a room that about had me speechless. It was amazing!! I will totally be staying here again!

The noise proof is very poor. We can hear next door conversation clearly till they stopped at late hour like 1:30pm. Even there were 2 doors (one connected to the other room), but noise was quite obvious. The second door cannot be closed fully, as if it’s built by a amateur contractor. It’s like a plywood put on a wall instead of a regular door. The front desk was rude during I checked in. Asked for my ID without saying please, and no smile.

The Putney Inn was perfect for an easy overnight in Vermont. Rate was reasonable and room was clean. The location was extremely convenient, right off the highway. We would stay again if we were in the area!

Lovely grounds & playground. Older property with an interesting history, I saw signs of renovation & our bathroom was nicely redone. There is a train that comes by periodically, I noticed it in the evening, for me it was not bothersome(I heard it twice before bedtime, did not hear it at night).

Very convenient to Landmark College in Putney. Breakfast at the adjacent Sweet Spot Cafe was great. Putney Inn should consider vouchers or some sort of partnership with the Cafe rather than the frankly sad breakfast “room” at the Inn by the check in desk.

Easy access off the highway, great for a quick stop over. Beautiful surroundings. It is very quiet and dark at night, and a bit remote but overall, great night stay.

This is a very basic motel. Don't let the name 'Inn' fool you. The beds were comfortable and the place was clean. The overall feel is very dated. The heat/ac in the room is noisy and it is very close to the highway and its noise. Also the rooms have a small window in the front by the door that doesn't have a curtain so it is impossible to get the room fully dark. The breakfast is very very basic.

My room was in deteriorating condition. Carpeting is old. Radiator in bathroom is falling apart; while not needed as they have an a/c unit in the wall, it should be removed as it is unsightly. Dirty baseboards which need to be painted. "Breakfast" was a joke, just a waffle maker, some low quality bread and coffee that ran out after I filled a small cup. The lack of attention to detail was appalling. Outdoor planter bed next to my unit was all dead grass. I don't know why this property gets such good reviews.

Probably good for a one night stay, not four nights. Pros. Right next to the highway exit. Conveniently located. Beds were comfortable. Area is lovely. Cons. Their breakfast area could use a cleaning and hot coffee. The place looked rundown and unkempt. Ceilings had moldy patches and there was peeling paint on walls and ceilings. Towels were stained with rust or other.

The towels were clean but stained. The room smelled like it had water damage at some point and the walls definitely need to be painted and touched up. The breakfast was very minimal and not any gluten free options.

Online ratings did not line up. The outside of the property is run down. The room smelled musty and had to put air conditioning to try to get rid of the musty smell. Very few options in the area so had to stay. Breakfast was sparse

The room and bathroom were incredibly clean, which was great. Check-in was easy, and it was nice to be able to get some simple breakfast items in the morning. This Inn does not get 5 stars from me because the shower is not great (mediocre water pressure) and the Wi-Fi was spotty too often. It's a very good choice for the price, in an area without a ton of options, and I would definitely return.

Basic, affordable motel conveniently located off I-91. It’s dated and nothing fancy, but the service is friendly, rooms are spacious, comfortable, and have a fridge and microwave and coffee maker. A basic continental breakfast is included. Everything we needed for our short stay.

The Putney Inn is old and shows its age. The room was very musty smelling as the rug and bedding are old and moist air. The tiles on the floor and bath wall were updated but the tub is old and dingy. Way overpriced for the condition in comparison to the new Holiday Inn and Hampton Inn that are much nicer at a similar price. I would not recommend.

The room was musty and when my wife opened the drawer to the end table two cockroaches came out. I killed them both but it disturbed my wife’s sleep all night When I went to the front desk in the morning there was nobody there

The room I stayed in was not clean or New like the photos online the baseboards looked dirty or water damaged so didn’t the laminate flooring. The bathroom shower, which looked updated and had tile looked like no one had ever properly cleaned before he grout and it was discolored yellow/ brown to the point, I did not feel comfortable showering without flip-flops. There were spiderwebs bugs, mosquitoes by the two back windows where you enter into the room the room itself smelled of mold or mildew, and there were also noticeable water stains on the bathroom floor that did not have a vent or exhaust. The Wi-Fi for the hotel also did not work at all unless you were towards one part of the building, and even then it was at best unreliable. When I approached the owner/management about getting a discount, considering the conditions in my room which also included dead bugs and spiderwebs & crumbs around the base of the bed. They offered me a 10% discount which roughly ends up being a $13.40 discount on a room that cost $134 before taxes. To say the least this is insulting I did give them my phone and email they have not yet followed up with me worth noting is most of the laundry and linens on the bed were clean however, after removing them, the mattress cover was quite stained. And a number of the lamps in the room had dust on them. This stay was highly disappointing along with the lack of compromise or customer service given I requested a discount & not a refund of less than 50%.
