Enjoyed our night here. We used the sauna and hot tub after a long day. It was a fairly basic room, but that is all we needed for a good night sleep. Good breakfast that was included in the morning. Would stay here again.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay. Really appreciated the microwave and hot water provided in the breakfast area in the even. The staff was very nice and helpful and directed us to a couple of not so visited waterfalls to the north. I would stay again.

Fantastic place to stay for our first night in Iceland. We arrived quite early and we were not expecting to check in, but the host had a room ready for us within minutes! Very friendly staff and super accommodating. The breakfast was delicious and plenty of food to chose from. I highly recommend this guesthouse. The rooms were very clean, spacious and the bed was nice and comfortable. We came back for a second night from the highlands and made good use of the hot tub and sauna which felt like heaven after multiple day hikes.

Loved the breakfast with a waffle maker. Excellent staff. Great option for use of hot tub and sauna. My only complaint would be to be given an extra set of towels and facecloths. Only one towel each to shower and one hand towel but no face cloths which I found a bit odd. But I’m sure we would be given an extra towel if we had asked.

The hosts were very attentive. The guesthouse was very clean. Room was slightly small but not much different than others in iceland... Breakfast was excellent considering it is homestyle. Only minus is that the hot tub does not have jets and wasnt that warm. It also faced the highway. Sauna was great! The hosts have sheep, horses and chickens but you can only see the chickens in the summer because the others are out in the fields grazing. I would return here and recommend this place.

Very nice setting. Simple decor but very cozy property. Hot tub (didn’t use the sauna) was great for relaxing at end of a long day. Great breakfast. Highly recommend.

Room was clean and functional. Quiet small motel so not over crowded. Out in country so beautiful surroundings. Only negative thing I would say is breakfast not till 8:00, which got us on the road later than we had hoped.

Absolutely recommend!! The place is clean and peaceful and staff were super nice! Facilities and breakfast are great too. There was a little information booklet provided which was very helpful. The photos around the guest house that share a little history about the place add a nice touch too. I would definitely go back there.

We drove the ring road and stayed somewhere new almost every night and this was our favorite place to stay! Almar was friendly and knowledgeable. They had information books with suggestions of places to go and how long the trips would take with maps for all the suggestions. There was such a variety for breakfast, the beds were comfortable, the showers were great (temperature and water pressure).

Lovely setting. Comfy bed, efficient blackout curtains, and able to open window. Great shower. Absolute best breakfast while on Ring Road. Homemade jam for homemade bread. More variety than most and all of it good. You can even make your own waffle! Definitely stay here!

Great location near Selfoss. The place doesn’t have any bells and whistles but it’s comfortable, clean, and with friendly staff. Private bathrooms is a key (some guesthouses don’t have them). Free breakfast is delicious and convenient so you don’t have to drive around looking for a breakfast place (there’s nothing nearby because well… it’s Iceland LOL). Highly recommend!

My spouse and I stayed here in early October on a road trip around the South Coast. I'm late with the review but wanted to make sure that I wrote one since we very much enjoyed our stay at Lambastadir Guesthouse! The room was spacious (compared to some of our other accommodations in Iceland in the same price range) and was clean and comfortable. The beds were especially comfortable. The staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The quiet, rural location made for a restful stay and we experienced a great Northern Lights display on the night that we stayed! We made use of the hot tub on site and it was lovely at sunrise. We enjoyed dinner out at Krisp in nearby Selfoss. The town is also a convenient location to stock up on essentials if you're travelling (food, gas, etc.). We would definitely recommend Lambastadir and hope that one day we have the good fortune to return.

At first I was a little surprised to find no staff at the desk. But as I sent an email, a staff showed up in front of my room. He together with other female staff members were very friendly. Thanks for their nice service.

My spouse and I stayed here in early October on a road trip around the South Coast. I'm late with the review but wanted to make sure that I wrote one since we very much enjoyed our stay at Lambastadir Guesthouse! The room was spacious (compared to some of our other accommodations in Iceland in the same price range) and was clean and comfortable. The beds were especially comfortable. The staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The quiet, rural location made for a restful stay and we experienced a great Northern Lights display on the night that we stayed! We made use of the hot tub on site and it was lovely at sunrise. We enjoyed dinner out at Krisp in nearby Selfoss. The town is also a convenient location to stock up on essentials if you're travelling (food, gas, etc.). We would definitely recommend Lambastadir and hope that one day we have the good fortune to return.

Fantastic place to stay for our first night in Iceland. We arrived quite early and we were not expecting to check in, but the host had a room ready for us within minutes! Very friendly staff and super accommodating. The breakfast was delicious and plenty of food to chose from. I highly recommend this guesthouse. The rooms were very clean, spacious and the bed was nice and comfortable. We came back for a second night from the highlands and made good use of the hot tub and sauna which felt like heaven after multiple day hikes.

We drove the ring road and stayed somewhere new almost every night and this was our favorite place to stay! Almar was friendly and knowledgeable. They had information books with suggestions of places to go and how long the trips would take with maps for all the suggestions. There was such a variety for breakfast, the beds were comfortable, the showers were great (temperature and water pressure).

Room was clean and functional. Quiet small motel so not over crowded. Out in country so beautiful surroundings. Only negative thing I would say is breakfast not till 8:00, which got us on the road later than we had hoped.

The hosts were very attentive. The guesthouse was very clean. Room was slightly small but not much different than others in iceland... Breakfast was excellent considering it is homestyle. Only minus is that the hot tub does not have jets and wasnt that warm. It also faced the highway. Sauna was great! The hosts have sheep, horses and chickens but you can only see the chickens in the summer because the others are out in the fields grazing. I would return here and recommend this place.

Very nice setting. Simple decor but very cozy property. Hot tub (didn’t use the sauna) was great for relaxing at end of a long day. Great breakfast. Highly recommend.

This is a lovely guest house less than 10 minutes outside of Selfoss. The provided breakfast was very nice, but I do think it would be helpful if it started earlier than 8am as some people might want to start their day early. The hot tub on site was lovely.

We stayed one night at the guesthouse, after a day around the Golden Circle. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable and it was so lovely to use the hot tub and sauna after our long day of sightseeing. The staff were very helpful and I would recommend staying at this guesthouse.

The staff was exemplary - super helpful in planning our daily routes, provided an adapter when mine didn’t work, provided excellent complimentary breakfast. The location was superb. Beds were heavenly and rooms were just right. Parking was a breeze and the staff offered to help us get our bags into our car when we left. Great value! I would return in a heartbeat.
