Alma Del Rio Eco-Comfort on the water

What an amazing experience! Hadas was an amazing host, and very helpful and informative! She helped us book an amazing tour with Jamal who picked us up for a wonderful jungle pontoon experience, which I highly recommend. She helped us navigate the area with excellent tips on where to go, and what to see. The house itself is AMAZING! The view is even better than the pictures show. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook. We hit the farmer’s market for some wonderful ingredients on the way in! The wildlife is all around you! It is a soundtrack, but totally worth the experience. It’s the jungle what do you expect?! Dora was super friendly, and had we had more time I’m sure her classes and massage are top notch. All in all I was most excited for my island and ocean time, but am leaving Belize most amazed by my jungle experience at Alma Del Rios!

We loved the place, the houses were beautiful with some high quality wooden furnishings. We spent some very peaceful mornings reading and watching birds, although no toucans for us unfortunately. Overall a wonderful way to end our time in Belize. Dora was super kind and helpful at check-in. The provided guide to San Ignacio was also super helpful. check in

Trip was planned for my wife’s 35 bday with extremely short notice. Hadas was absolutely amazing! She assisted me with scheduling multiple events every day of our stay. It’s not often you find someone who authentically cares what their guests think, how their stay was and the time they spent inside the facility. It was as if everyone that guided us on our journey knew of Hadas and her beautiful family! I’ve never been to any other place where I felt welcome and at home as much as I did there, and it was immediate. As far as Alma Del Rio. Absolutely exceptional! Quiet, nestled on the edge of the Macao River in the jungle. I’m a hard one when it comes to being pleased. This lodge and the experience with Hadas, her staff and all of our guides far surpassed my expectations!Also, Dora made the visit even more exceptional which I did not feel was possible. She made the place nice and cozy, cooked an amazing traditional iconic dish for my wife and I. I could keep going and going. Just know you won’t be disappointed in the least staying at Alma Del Rio. And do not forget to bring Alma a gift from whenever you’re traveling from! She will make your heart explode in joy with her authentic appreciation. Our family of 5 (3 kids aged 17, 14 and 8) stayed at this property in early January. The property is absolutely beautiful, and the home(s) were so well cared for and gorgeous. Having the river right behind the home was fun for fishing and exploring. Also we always felt very safe not only in the area but the home also has a locked gate to enter and exit. There were all of the amenities we needed for our stay. The property is known for being environmentally friendly and is open in many ways to the outdoors. If you aren't the outdoorsy type or don't like camping this may not be for you. We loved being able to have the open showers, opening the doors to the screened porches and seeing wildlife right there. That also did present the risk of spiders and ants in the home. We were prepared and helped the spiders out and sprayed Off for the ants so it wasn't a huge deal after the first night.We aren't big planners but the owner and property manager were so accommodating. I messaged late in the evening a few times asking for help with excursions and they were so sweet and easily had things lined up for us the next day. We highly recommend the ATM tour but be sure to bring socks and read reviews. The property is very close to town with a grocery store right down the road and most of the attractions a short drive away. Overall, it was a great stay in San Ignacio and this property did not disappoint.

We really enjoyed this accommodation. It was very easily accessed from San Ignacio. Comfortable and beautiful. We would stay here again, hands down!
