The location on the ocean was very beautiful. My deluxe room was generally excellent with up to the standard amenities, air conditioning and an excellent covered verandah to look at the ocean from. I thought the caretaking (which may be worse in the off-season when I was there) was mediocre here. The caretaker did not speak any English (despite the resort clearly catering almost exclusively to western travellers) and had zero ability to interpret from context. He telephoned someone else (who I suspect was the owner) for issues in English and she was excellent when she intervened. I was at the resort for multiple weeks and on three of those days there was no water or deeply brown water coming out of the faucet for about an hour in the morning (after which it was resolved). The resort is about 300 metres off the main island road (which was in good shape and concrete, as with all of the island). The road into Ao Pong was a narrow dirt road which featured three serious Africa-style mud puddles. I had some apprehension riding my scooter through these every day (which one had to do to reach anything on the island), and got muddied shoes when I walked it. Relatedly, the resort is anxious to rent you a scooter, which is an absolute necessity, but they are doing so amateurishly. The caretaker tried to make me pay for a flat tire I got (his boss steered him off this), and gave me not one but two different scooters that were blinking a warning that they were empty of gas.

Fantastiskt boende. Sköna sängar, vacker utsikt, nära till bad o nära till affär o restauranger. Smile cooking school på gångavstånd. Nära till piren, där båtar går till andra öar o fastlandet.
