I had a single room, which actually didn’t have a view (2 x frosted opaque windows) BUT the room was very clean and comfortable. It was also quiet (exception of seagulls at 5:30 but that’s outside the hotels control) Bed very comfy, en-suite all good. Breakfast was really good, all good quality produce in the full English and a lovely bowl of porridge for starter. Staff all very friendly Would definitely recommend and stay again although if you want a view and there are some great rooms with views make sure you ask. Sidmouth itself is a lovely Regency Seaside town which is full of period character and really well looked after.

My only comment would be that to get your hot tea and coffee you needed to squeeze past people sitting at their tables. I think carrying hot drinks is a bit risky. I couldn't fault anything else. Loved our room the car parking the treatment towards my doggie. The view was great a sea view. We loved the good quality bedding, towels, deco and fittiings. Staff were very attentive and polite. A really asset to your facility and to Sidmouth. I did think it might be a nice gesture to offer a discount to hotel customers using Dukes restaurant on proof of a hotel key and room number. Just a suggestion. Visit 28th August to 30th August 2026.

I had to ask staff how to turn ths shower on. There was no switch or button, and nothinh indicated on the shower itself. It turned out that an unlabelled part of the structure had to be pushed doen. It needs a label. Other than lack of a Duvet, everything else was fine.
