St Christopher's London Bridge - The Village

I would happily return to this property. A few things to know: Access to the front door is controlled by an app you will need to download and that will be activated with a code reception will give you. There are plenty of bathrooms but you either need to being your own towel or rent one at reception in the morning. No guarantee towels will be available. First come first served (I did secure one). There are lockers available but you will need your padlock. There was a party at the hostel when I visited. The noise was very high. I had to use the earplugs which they supply and noise cancelling headphones to sleep. The private pod was long and wide enough for me. It was very comfortable. You also get sockets and USB to charge your phones next to you. Access to the pod, if upstairs like mine was, is a bit dicy. The steps are small and quite far to the side so be careful getting to your pod and especially leaving it. Breakfast is served downstairs. Quite a bit of choice.

I stayed in the capsules a few times, and I have to say it’s good value for money, especially for the level of privacy you get when you’re essentially paying hostel prices. Here’s the thing - yes you can hear the nightclub below for a few hours into the night, but they do give you earplugs. Yes the bathrooms and toilets aren’t always perfectly clean, and the capsule itself could do with a deep clean, but the pillowcase and sheets are clean, and you just need to bring a little pair of flip-flops or similar for the showers. Also it’s good to bring a towel but you can rent one here. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Be aware you can’t lock the capsule as there is only a curtain, but you can lock your personal items in a locker. I personally enjoy the cosy feeling of being in these capsules. Just be aware they are on 2 levels and if you get a top-bunk you need to climb up, so if you have any issues with that, let them know in advance of arriving. I’m sure they would accommodate you. I prefer the top bunks as the music from the nightclub below isn’t as loud on the top bunks. I genuinely enjoy staying here, it’s just best to be aware of the above so you can make a decision.

Like the option of capsule bed type accommodation and this was fine with locker space and no shortage of toilets and showers. Check in was very friendly and helpful. I was staying on 1st floor - only downside was live music from bar below was quite noisy for a time - finishing somewhere around midnight. Hostel was very close to Borough and London Bridge and convenient to Tube and Railway. Lots of buses too

Good stay but this time I booked the Capsule which is located on the 1st floor, right up from the pub and the music is load until 2 am each morning. Be sure you have an earplug or your night will be a nightmare.

The capsules are really nice and the hostel is in a great location Bring earplugs though as the capsules are right above the bar which had loud music most nights until the early hours. Place is safe though and the staff are very nice and accommodating

Exceptionally noisy, the bar downstairs stopped ludicrously loud music at 2.a.m. exactly, before then impossible to sleep even with ear buds

The pod wasn’t even little sound proof. I had earplugs in and my bed was jumping from the bas from the music in the restaurant. Thank god I got a refund for the rest of my stay and could choose another place.

I stayed at a "Bed in 8 Bed Dorm with Shared Bathroom"on the first floor. compare to the price, it was nice. the room and all bath rooms were clean enough. shower room might be too small for some ppl. I'm 160cm 47kg but I already felt so. also you'll need to download their app to use electric key but no worries, they also give you pin code. if you wanna leave your luggage, there's no cost at the reception!yayy check Google Maps for more photos and a video I posted.

There is a bar in this hostel. During weekdays there is music until about 1am, during the weekends the music stays on until 3am.

On top of a night club. Very loud. Toilets didn’t work, rooms and bathrooms not cleaned daily, rooms had a funny smell. Would not recommend this place and will not stay here again. Sorry.

I have stayed here few times no issue this time was given bottom bunk bed I couldn't sleep my body was inching scratching terrible sleep couldn't sleep properly left early hours of the morning I had red spots on my body and head red bed bugs present in room will never come back again waste of time telling staff as nothing will get sorted the whole room needs new mattresses and big company to spray out the whole room with chemicals!!!

First time staying at a hostel, I’ll be honest I wasn’t very satisfied. As a first time solo traveler out of the country I guess I expected it to look exactly like the pictures. However, after meeting so many amazing people there who are experienced they showed me it was not bad, which I agree restrooms & showers were clean at all times! Comforters were very clean, a lot of things near by & the bar attached to them was amazing with a great vibe. I would definitely go back. My only complaint is the pillows, they were so flat. Anywho I hope this helps! Would I got back probably :)

Good: -Very accessible, -Staff was helpful too! -Convenient check-in process Bad: -I was on the 4th floor; got heavy bags BUT the lift was not working! Very tiring to go up with heavy bags. -When I went up, I saw the bed was not yet ready, and still has previously used linens; it was a hassle going down again just to report to the front desk about it, and have to go back up again (as the lift isn't working) -The loo/toilets have a pungent smell of poop; on the other cubicle, THERE was poop, flushed it but the stain was still there; did not use the loo anymore, but the next day, it's still there. I guess one has to call their attention as clearly there's no checking if the shared bathroom is clean or not.

Shower/Bathroom very dirty and wet. Rooms are good if you can sleep through some sound is right on busy street and plays live music overall good stay

Stayed here before and it was fine. This time around, the in-dorm toilets for around 24 people were broke as was the air conditioning. When it's 20 plus degrees out and no air con in the room, the capsules are unbearable. The toilets that were available were dirty and the majority didn't even have toilet paper. I get it's a hostel but cmon. Additionally you don't even get a physical key card anymore, it's an app you're forced to download to even enter the rooms or hostel after a certain time. Won't be back.

Place was dirty, bedding horrible and seems to have bed bug as made me itching all night. Room not ventilation,very hot,... horrible!!!!?

I only have two complaints, it was mostly clean, but there was a bit of dust in corners and where the walls met the floor. Also, the toilet paper and hand wash ran out, but luckily there was a second dispenser. Overall 4.5/5 for a hostel. Will definitely be staying here again

I do not recommend, partying till 2am on a Sunday was not nice. I didn't use the toilets as much as they were super dirty.

The beds were comfortable, with everyone having their own storage space, as well as small shelf next to the beds. While it didnt bother me, there is an attached bar, and can get pretth loud. Transportation was easy to get to, and right next to borough market.

Always been a bit leery of hostels. Booked a capsule/pod here and it was great value for money. Clean and with good sound insulation, I got a good night’s sleep for a fraction of a hotel cost. Not even a hint of noise from the nightclub directly below. This will be my new go to when I need a budget place to overnight in London. My only tiny negative was that it was a little bit too warm for me in the pod, but not at all claustrophobic.

The pod beds are such a fun idea - I’ve seen them done so well elsewhere - but here they are so difficult to get in and out of, and the mattress/pad was so thin that sleeping on my side I was waking up every hour or two with a hip in pain. The bar downstairs is really loud, which wasn’t a massive issue for me but some people will not be able to work with this at all, even with the free earplugs. Friendly guests and staff though, and a decent energy around the place at breakfast.

Staff were excellent, unsure of the person's name on the front desk but I checked in at around 5pm on Saturday 22nd June and they were so helpful and lovely! The room and facilities were clean enough, however the beds could do with having new/more sufficient curtains installed around the bunks as I was one of the only girls in a mixed dorm and would have liked a little more privacy. There were also a couple of guys who came into the room late at night and were talking quite loudly, so perhaps some signs on the doors reminding people to be quieter at night. Aside from that the bunk bed had everything I needed and for the price I couldn't really go wrong!

This place is cheap, but if you paid 3 times more for your night in London, you'd get 20 times as much in return. The place is like a maze and the doors are unlocked by an app on your phone. All I could think is that if there was a fire, we'd all have been deadas there's just no escape. The room was internal, 15 beds, 5 triple bunks, no window. There was something that looked like an air conditioner and it was making a noise, but it wasn't cooling anything. In fact, at about 3 am it actually started to heat up. It's honestly was so much like squid games that you might as well just imagine spending a night in the squid games dorm. It was boiling. It was no less rowdy either. Power farting, pillow humping, bed shaking, drugs, alcohol, prisoners just out of jail with their clothes still in prison bags, homeless (fair enough I guess, but I've not seen it in other hostels in Europe). PS. Someone stole my clothes from my bed while I was asleep. Scary and annoying. Security wasn't great. Anyone could walk in and out up to 10pm and could just wait by the door for someone to open it for them to walk through. The main door to the dorm broke and locked us in at one point. They propped it open with a screw. Didn't feel safe even leaving things in lockers. Bathrooms were abysmal. There was one shower for well over 30 people. The pod we slept in was recently installed. It was comfortable and great for one night stop-over! My only criticism is that The fan/aircon in the pod needs to be stronger and more variable as we slept in it on one of the hottest nights this summer and it was like being microwaved!!! Get that right and it would be perfect for a cheap one nighter!

Shower was good. Check in was a ball ache having to show ID,download an app to have the key to the building and rooms which didnt work at 1st and had to reloaded at the desk.

I liked the idea of the pod, and the pod room was relatively quiet but the heavy bass from the restaurant pounded even through my earplugs into the wee hours of the morning, making sleep terrible at best, with a long haul flight the next day, I was pretty wrecked. Also, no towels were available, which made for an uncomfortable shower. It's not the hostel's fault but a neighbourhood reality: I was accosted twice after leaving the hostel in the early morning by panhandlers, one of whom was high on meth and was agitated and unpredictable. This could have been a very threatening situation.

It was very convenient as its close london bridge station and borough market. The stat was pleasant. Could do better on amenities as no towels were available when i requested one.

This property gets two stars from me, 1 because the location is fine and 2 because the staff was nice. This was the loudest hostel i’ve ever stayed at. The bar beneath the rooms was playing music until 2/3am every night, with crowds making noise until close to 4am. The hostel is close to transportation, however there were concerns about safety in this location. Often the front door was left often was after 10pm, meaning anyone from the street could get inside. I did not feel safe knowing that anyone could enter the hostel. Stay away from this place.

Good location nearby local food shops and close to public transportation. Locker is rented by hour. Convenient location to London Bridge station is a plus to go to Gatwick airport by train

It's the most convenient hostel in London, near London Bridge station. The beds are bunked three high, so it's a bit tight, but considering the price, there's no complaint. I'll definitely come back again.

Area was convenient for transportation and the stay was pleasant. Could do better on amenities, as I requested towels but there was none available.

It was ok for the price. The bed the squeaky, the pillow flat, the breakfast basic. But I got a dorm room for less than £20 in central London. Can I complain?? Other good points: toilets and showers clean. Service people nice.

First, let’s clarify the confusing names… There are THREE St. Christopher’s Inns on the same stretch of road (Borough High Street) near London Bridge. 1. St. Christopher’s Inns - The Inn 2. St. Christopher’s Inns - The Village 3. St. Christopher’s Inn - The Oasis (female only) I stayed at The Village. Your experience will depend greatly on your room - I see many guests in the Pods complain about the noise from the bar downstairs. Luckily I had a 10 bed dorm room on a higher floor and there were no noise issues, apart from the outside traffic (as windows were open to cool the room). Beds in my dorm had privacy curtains which was fantastic. Lockers under beds are noisy. The shared bathroom facilities were fine. Breakfast was surprisingly good. Note that there’s no proper kitchen for cooking. Staff were all super friendly which was a nice change for London - perhaps because they weren’t from London! Although there’s a social room and an outside terrace, there isn’t much communal space apart from the bar. So if you need space to work, there really isn’t anywhere. Considering this hostel is often priced competitively, if you get a good room I think it offers good value for money.

The property was clean and especially the toilets were more than clean. They had a bottle of water for free in my bed and the breakfast with only 5 pounds was more than I expected.

The bar is on the ground floor and it’s literally not possible to sleep until around 2:00 am when the bar closes…
