Regular visitor and love the spacious and individuality of the rooms. It also means we can stay without having to have an accessibility room as have walk in shower and plenty of room for walkers etc. Service always exceptional and go the extra mile. Food is also delicious! Great area to walk the dog.

A fantastic place with very modern rooms and a welcoming group of staff. The two restaurants are lovely especially the Pub which has the classic pub feel but very clean and well presented. The room was immaculate and very cosy!

Although I only stayed for one night at this lovely hotel the staff and the atmosphere made my stay a wonderful experience. Definitely eat at the pub downstairs - they have some excellent food!

Beautiful and spotless accommodation. Fabulous helpful and attentive staff. Breakfast to die for! Loved the meadow for walking the dog and delighted she was allowed in for breakfast. We have already booked again for next month.

It was a great view despite the tight access to the carpark there was parking in front of room. The room was clean and tidy, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very modern and clean. The staff were polite and friendly and very helpful.

This is our second stay at The Bell. Once again the staff were welcoming and friendly. Our room was super clean, the bed was comfortable, bathroom spacious and we had all the facilities we needed. Wrap all this up with the olde, worlde charm of the building and it all combined once again into a lovely break.

Apologies for the late review we thought we had completed this on our return. We booked a room for two nights whilst visiting family. This a regular trip we make every year but our first time of staying here. On arrival, shortly after the allocated check in time, we were greeted by a young lady at reception who showed us to our room - The Anne Boleyn suite. The room was spacious, clean and cosy with a very comfortable bed and a fantastic bathroom. We both slept well with no disturbance from neighbours or guests in the bar n restaurant downstairs. We didn’t eat here or try breakfast as it wasn’t included in our cost. We would definitely return. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Beautiful location and a wonderful building and my room was perfect. However the 1st night was awful. the room cost over a 120 per night and mine was facing a conference room where they had a wine tasting evening i believe ..? All i can say the more they drank the loader it got i managed to get to sleep about 1am . I mentioned this in the morning to the receptionist and got will tell the management and heard nothing else. For the kind of money they charged would have expected better . Didnt even get notified that this was happening let alone 5 metres from my room. The food was good but very overpriced and the following day walked 100yds down the road to the the local pub restaurant where the food was better and half the price.overall very disappointed and would not got back or reccomend if in that room.

We spent one night in this characterful and attractive pub, and found the staff and food to be really excellent. Our room was quirky and lovely, with a great bathroom. The only thing which we found disappointing, and the reason I didn’t give the hotel 5 stars, was the noise. When we were shown our room by the lady from reception, she brought us past a private party, which was being held in the conservatory area, and she explained that the party would be finished by 8.30pm. There was a DJ, and the music was extremely loud. Unfortunately, our room was right over this area, and not only could we hear the music from our room, but the whole room was vibrating to the sound, including the bathroom. We had driven quite a long way before our arrival, and had hoped to relax before going for a meal in the restaurant. On our return to our room later that evening, the party had indeed ended, and everything was peaceful, but we both felt that the room shouldn’t have been allocated to us when the noise levels and vibration were so high. It didn’t feel like a useable space for paying guests to inhabit. Whilst we would book at this hotel in the future, I would be making sure that I asked about any private functions in advance.

We stayed during the village's "Feast and Fayre" as we were the resident musicians for the weekend. Everyone at The Bell was incredibly helpful. The housekeeping staff went out of their way to work round our comings and goings, even offering to help us move our instruments. Reception allowed us to check out late, even moving other room allocations around. The room was immaculate and the food was excellent. The weather was exceptionally hot but with a fan provided as standard and with the blinds and shutters we were able to be comfortable. It's a lovely place to stay.

Ellie (im sure that was her name) at reception was so helpful as i walk with an aid of a stick, when showing us to our room she made sure i was ok, showed us how everything worked, times of breakfast dinner etc, can honestly say was one of the cleanliest and frendliest hotels we have stayed in, we will come back 100%

From the moment arrived, the staff were really pleasant & helpful. Lovely big room. Beautiful bathroom. Bed a bit hard (but that’s cos I like a soft bed). The food was fabulous. I never seen a pub so busy on a Monday night (especially the week before payday)! Breakfast was lovely. Definitely recommend.

This is my second time to this cute little place. It is very nice with high ambition, but there where a couple of things that can improve a lot. I booked 5 rooms (one booking with 4 named persons, and an additional booking with only my name) for one night for a party of 5. It was clear payments to be settled on site. Before I even left Sweden I got notifications from my bank that the hotel had charged 3 rooms from my account. I called the hotel and they were quite negligant about breaching agreement and a bit reluctant to refund me. This was later solved, but caused a lot of stress to me, and to my colleagues. I didn't even get an apology. Rooms are querky (which I like) but it was freezing cold, and radiators could not be switched on. Couldn't find any news channel, only old tv shows and arabic series, on the telly. A bit odd. But again, it is a super cute place with an ambitious and nice restaurant in the pub. Will be back for business next time and hope to avoid payment issues.

We love the location of this hotel. Nice and quiet though a little crazy for traffic & parking at busy times. Also the bar closed far too early at the weekend! Rooms are very spacious clean & comfortable. Breakfast is good though you have to pay extra for this. We would definitely visit again.

Horndon on the Hill is a picturesque village and the Bell is a delightful pub and hotel. The rooms are comfortable, clean and quiet and in a pretty setting. My only gripe was breakfast which can work out really expensive. Toast and jam is £4.10, a 'Variety' pack cereal £2.50 and tea £2.50. My breakfast cost £17.10 and it could have been more.

Beautiful location and a wonderful building and my room was perfect. However the 1st night was awful. the room cost over a 120 per night and mine was facing a conference room where they had a wine tasting evening i believe ..? All i can say the more they drank the loader it got i managed to get to sleep about 1am . I mentioned this in the morning to the receptionist and got will tell the management and heard nothing else. For the kind of money they charged would have expected better . Didnt even get notified that this was happening let alone 5 metres from my room. The food was good but very overpriced and the following day walked 100yds down the road to the the local pub restaurant where the food was better and half the price.overall very disappointed and would not got back or reccomend if in that room.

We just wrapped up a lovely stay at the Bell Inn. Rooms were immaculate, bathroom immaculate, linens clean, amazing breakfast and dining options and a friendly staff. Would highly recommend The Bell Inn.

The room was clean and comfortable. Can not fault the accommodation. The restaurant was clean and well kept. Breakfast was nice but I felt a whole mushroom and piece of black pudding could have been served rather than half of each. Especially for the price.

Although I only stayed for one night at this lovely hotel the staff and the atmosphere made my stay a wonderful experience. Definitely eat at the pub downstairs - they have some excellent food!

Friendly welcome, clean and quiet room. Easy parking and good pub. Didn’t have breakfast but easy access if required. Comfortable bed and able to make the room dark with shutters. Slightly improvement would be a slightly better shower. Would stay again.
