Staying at the Sally Webster Inn was a different experience as we never met the owners, managers or any staff member. The Inn was very clean and comfortable and convenient to Rockport harbor. Breakfast choices were adequate but would have preferred to eat outside of our room. Bathroom was tiny! Bed was comfortable and room was nicely decorated.

Classis New England clap-board 2 story conveniently located within walking distance from quaint, rustic seafaring downtown. Management services are handled remotely and offer virtual interface, otherwise contactless. Nutritious but simple bagged breakfast orders delivered to room. In room TV, fridge, coffee maker - are a plus. Compact bathroom with shower stall, but abundant hot water. Parking on site is limited. Local street traffic somewhat noisy at night. All in all..pleasant and fair value.

The room was very comfortable, everything worked well. The breakfast at 8am was very nice, as was the Keurig-style coffeemaker in the room. The location is great, about a 10-minute walk to the shops/beaches/restaurants. Having reserved parking right next to the Inn is very convenient. Marshall was very helpful. We were in the Anne Bonny room which is on the 1st floor (no having to climb stairs!), but it looks into the street so we kept our curtains closed. We will be back to Sally Webster on our next trip to Rockport.

Beautiful and comfortable room. On the road so could be a little noisy. Short walk down to the local attractions, bit of an uphill climb going back up. Parking was ample. Breakfast is no longer included which we only found out about when we arrived. Rockport itself is just beautiful and well worth a visit.

Wonderful place to stay! Walking distance to downtown. Very clean and nice upgrades. The smaller rooms are definitely small, but fine for two people. Shower is very small. For a larger person, opt for the larger room. Beautiful landscaping on the outside. Check in was all by text. Perfect!

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Sally Webster. Easy parking and close to central district of Rockport. Well kept property. Our room included a small walk-in shower and small sink, soft but comfortable bed, nice linens, well functioning air conditioning, refrigerator with freezer section, and Kerig unit. You never meet the inn keepers but easily accessible by texting. No longer offer breakfast which was a surprise to us. Very good housekeeping. Only real negative was lack of hot water for showers.

It was an easy (less than 10 min) walk to T wharf and Bearhskin cove. Bring a flashlight if walking on a moonless night. It seems odd not to have staff greet you, but all worked out fine. Left the car in their lot and walked to restaurants, etc. No need to keep looking for parking.

This inn is adequate for a one-night stay. Rooms and bathrooms especially are small, with little space for your belongings. We stayed in the Sadie the Goat Room and the fireplace mantel is dangerously positioned (sticks out) next to the bathroom door. We and another couple we traveled with) all had head encounters with this mantel. Breakfast delivered to your room in a bag, which you could eat in your room or in our case we used the small reception room downstairs, which was nice but not ideally set up for eating. Bed was comfortable, but room was quite warm with no obvious way to adjust that.

We had a wonderful stay. The self-check-in process was simple and convenient. Our room (Mary Reid) was spotless, with the bed neatly made and fresh towels provided daily. While the bathroom was on the smaller side, that's expected in a historic home. The location was perfect - just a short walk to downtown. Our only disappointment was that breakfast is no longer offered, as it would have made the stay even better. This is a lovely historic Inn that is very well kept.

Sally Webster was a beautiful bed and breakfast! It was clean and designed well. The bed and pillows were BEYOND comfortable. Additional lights walking to and from the parking lot would be nice!

We had a wonderful stay at Sally Webster. Super well kept, bright and cheerfully decorated and very clean. Great mattress ! Excellent location, walking distance to restaurants, shops, galleries etc, We highly recommend and will be back !

This inn is clean and in a good location but our experience was completely tainted by the fact that they were totally dishonest about the breakfast. They stopped serving breakfast a long time ago but "conveniently" forgot to update sites like Expedia where people actually do their booking. There was a note in the room saying it was discontinued but after doing some digging in reviews, we found it was discontinued LONG before we booked in May 2025. We chose this place over another very charming inn simply because of the breakfast option. Also, they have loud window air conditioners and if you want to turn it off and open the windows, our room faced a very noisy street. They also cleaned our bathroom and used so much bleach that the room stank for a whole day. That said, the place is clean and the bed pretty comfortable. It's also in a good location to the center of Rockville.

The location of the Inn is very convenient for walking around the harbor and to restaurants. The room was spacious, the bed very comfortable, and the shower had hot water quickly. We enjoyed choosing our breakfast items each day and enjoyed the breakfast delivered to our door at 8 am, Gloucester is very close by.

Beach hopping with my wife. Lovely place to stay and as always, remember that when you stay at a historical inn, don’t expect too many modern updates. That said, the upright shower is rather tight but does the job well. The only other thing is that I would have liked a more secure door to the room, maybe an extra latch. The room was cozy and clean. The bed was comfortable. We would definitely stay again!

Sally Webster Inn is a beautiful Inn with themed rooms! We stayed in the Grace O’Malley room! The bed was extremely comfortable and the rooms have a mini fridge to store items. We were close enough to walk to breakfast at the local eateries! Cute coastal shops to venture into. The train station is not a far walk to venture into other towns. We came to see Salem! Loved that the train was close so we didn’t have to fight for parking on parade night in Salem! The bathroom is small but it’s expected with a historical home. Nicely renovated. If we are in the area again we would definitely stay again! Marshall and Courtney were great at answering any questions that we had.

This is our second time to Rockport within 6 months to attend shows at the Shalin Liu Center ( a magnificent venue!) Sally Webster Inn is walking distance to not only the center, but restaurants and shopping. We stayed in the Anne Bonney king room. It was so easy to access, private, very clean and the bed is super comfortable. Small downside, which has nothing to do with the Inn itself , is the room is right next to the road so there was some traffic noise. We had a change of plans in the morning and the innkeeper was readily available by text. Highly recommend this lovely spot!

Nice style and great bed! Smallest bathroom I've seen, but very clean. No on-site staff, but I have 2 stars because some responded to a minor problem pretty quickly by text.

So comfortable, service was perfect. We didn't hear anyone else. entrance and exit seamless. we were needing to drop bags earlier than checkin. no problem. We felt so well cared for. Cheers

this is a property with no "front desk"...they send you a code and you let yourself in. As such it didn't have a lot of "atmosphere"...but the room was pretty and the place was very convenient. We had a breakfast delivery to our door...good coffee, your choice of things made the night before. My husband liked the scone and I thought the granola and blueberries were very yummy. I recommend Fleur Cuisine which was where we ate -- one of the best salmon dishes I ever had!

I found our e-mail communications with Matthew to be excellent. He replied to our questions promptly. I would give a 10 (being the highest rating on a scale of 1-10). Everything else was mediocre. We never saw a staff person. On numerous occasions we have used facilities such as this inn and have always been greeted by a staff person, provided we arrived before 5:00 or 6:00 in the evening. The human interaction is one of the many charms when one chooses to stay at an inn. The contactless approach resembles an Airbnb minus the amenities the latter has to offer. In our room the door to enter was not functioning properly unless one pushed it hard to open. The door to the bathroom did not close. The wash basin was tiny. The light to the shower would turn off within five minutes of being turned on. The two arm chairs were past their prime and one of them was blocking the closet. Another issue which maybe of lesser importance to other reviewers was the fact all the flowers indoors and many in the outdoors were fake. The common area lacked charm. It is unfortunate that this place could have been a gem considering its proximity to the harbor, galleries and restaurants but instead turned out not to be so.

Wish they had a breakfast. Bed was super comfortable. Would have loved to meet the owners or someone that worked there. We checked in alone, never saw a soul and left without seeing anyone either. Owner was quick to answer any concerns via text so that was good. I loved it. I’d go back.

Wonderful place to stay! Walking distance to downtown. Very clean and nice upgrades. The smaller rooms are definitely small, but fine for two people. Shower is very small. For a larger person, opt for the larger room. Beautiful landscaping on the outside. Check in was all by text. Perfect!

The property had a lot of character and was very clean and tidy except for a proper lock on the bathroom. You also needed a degree to get the coffee machine to work which unfortunately we didn't. Also a bit of a shame that there is not the personal presence on arrival. Finally our booking in May confirmed a breakfast but a note was left to say that due to rising costs they decided at the end of 2024 to stop that and although not a problem, it should be removed from the agreement.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Sally Webster. Easy parking and close to central district of Rockport. Well kept property. Our room included a small walk-in shower and small sink, soft but comfortable bed, nice linens, well functioning air conditioning, refrigerator with freezer section, and Kerig unit. You never meet the inn keepers but easily accessible by texting. No longer offer breakfast which was a surprise to us. Very good housekeeping. Only real negative was lack of hot water for showers.

A storm blew through during our stay which made the power go out for a short period of time. While it normally wouldn’t have been any problem my husband and I had a wedding to attend and were in need of electricity to get ready. After we informed Marshall he quickly sent us to their sister location (2 minutes away that did not have a power issue) to use one of their rooms to get ready as we needed for the day. We appreciate how prompt they were with everything and with accommodating us so quickly! The owners go above and beyond and make sure the stay is top notch! We would definitely stay here again when visiting Rockport! The location was also perfect. A short 5 minute walk into the town where all the restaurants and shops are! Thanks for the great stay! We fell in love with the town!

We had a wonderful spring visit to Rockport and the Sally Webster was a perfect location for walking into town and exploring. We loved the decor, the comfortable (very soft and squishy!) bed, and the location. The self check-in is easy, and we just missed the end of their breakfast service by a week or so, which was a slight disappointment but more than made up for by the incredible breakfasts we had at the Red Skiff (with a discount from the hotel). The property is unstaffed, but they were very responsive on text.

What a cute Inn. Hosts very responsive when asked a question. Able to walk to the shops and restaurants. Woke up and saw they had cleaned the snow off our vehicle!!

The Sally Webster is a nice place to stay in Rockport. It's just up the hill from the shops/restaurants of the area, so it's very convenient. The staff are lovely and friendly.

Beautiful and comfortable room. On the road so could be a little noisy. Short walk down to the local attractions, bit of an uphill climb going back up. Parking was ample. Breakfast is no longer included which we only found out about when we arrived. Rockport itself is just beautiful and well worth a visit.

The location of the Inn is very convenient for walking around the harbor and to restaurants. The room was spacious, the bed very comfortable, and the shower had hot water quickly. We enjoyed choosing our breakfast items each day and enjoyed the breakfast delivered to our door at 8 am, Gloucester is very close by.

Sally Webster Inn is a beautiful Inn with themed rooms! We stayed in the Grace O’Malley room! The bed was extremely comfortable and the rooms have a mini fridge to store items. We were close enough to walk to breakfast at the local eateries! Cute coastal shops to venture into. The train station is not a far walk to venture into other towns. We came to see Salem! Loved that the train was close so we didn’t have to fight for parking on parade night in Salem! The bathroom is small but it’s expected with a historical home. Nicely renovated. If we are in the area again we would definitely stay again! Marshall and Courtney were great at answering any questions that we had.

Loved our 2 night stay at The Sally Webster Inn. The room was clean and comfortable with great amenities & decor. Breakfast was beautiful and prepared and delivered with great care. The location was perfect and as Rockport is so walkable I can’t recommend enough.

We had a wonderful stay. The self-check-in process was simple and convenient. Our room (Mary Reid) was spotless, with the bed neatly made and fresh towels provided daily. While the bathroom was on the smaller side, that's expected in a historic home. The location was perfect - just a short walk to downtown. Our only disappointment was that breakfast is no longer offered, as it would have made the stay even better. This is a lovely historic Inn that is very well kept.

Lovely property. Stayed in the Madame Cheng room which was spacious and well decorated. Walkable to Rockport and the waterfront in less than 10 minutes. Breakfast was really nice, pre-ordered the night before and waiting outside your room at 8pm. Private stay but host was available if needed. Would recommend and stay again.

This was a lovely quiet place to stay! The only downside I'd say is that I wish we'd been informed about the kitchen no longer being open or offering breakfast. Still, sweet place with a comfy bed and a good location.

The room was very clean and beautifully decorated. Breakfast had an assortment of choices for us to order ahead and was delivered at 8 am in the hallway for us to enjoy in our room. The coffee was delicious!

Stayed for 2 nights to explore Rockport, Gloucester, and Castle Hill. Great location a few blocks from downtown. Walked to the beach. Disappointed in the size of the bathroom, but very clean and it is an old home. Also disappointed the included breakfast was discontinued and we received coupons for local restaurants. How difficult is it to provide a few baked goods and a coffee tea station in the living room area?

They stopped serving breakfast a long time ago but "conveniently" forgot to update sites like Expedia where people actually do their booking. There was a note in the room saying it was discontinued but after doing some digging in reviews, we found it was discontinued LONG before we booked in May 2025. We chose this place over another very charming inn simply because of the breakfast option. Also, they have loud window air conditioners and if you want to turn it off and open the windows, our room faced a very noisy street. They also cleaned our bathroom and used so much bleach that the room stank for a whole day. That said, the place is clean and the bed pretty comfortable. The bathroom was so small that we didn't have a place to store our towels. The bed took up the majority of the bedroom, and my wife ended up hitting her leg hard on the corner of the bed multiple times. Otherwise, it was really lovely place!

This adorable house was way cuter and in even more pristine condition than I imagined! It was a delight to stay here. My daughter and I rode the train from Boston, walked through town and also to the hotel. It is a super short walk (up and down a tiny hill) to town for shops, restaurants, galleries, and even the beach. We felt absolutely safe walking after dark as two females. We weren’t quite ready at check out time and the hosts were very accommodating and let us stay about an hour longer, which we greatly appreciated! I believe they live onsite which is a nice comfort feature when having no front office and person greeting you as you arrive. The check-in was very easy and anyone can do it. In fact, the front door was unlocked for us and our room door was open and ready for our occupancy. As we approached the house, my daughter mentioned she felt like a snack and upon arrival she found York Peppermint patties placed several places in the common areas. We would’ve LOVED to stay another night (or three) but we have to get back to reality!!

My daughter and I rode the train from Boston, walked through town and also to the hotel. It is a super short walk (up and down a tiny hill) to town for shops, restaurants, galleries, and even the beach. We felt absolutely safe walking after dark as two females. We weren’t quite ready at check out time and the hosts were very accommodating and let us stay about an hour longer, which we greatly appreciated! I believe they live onsite which is a nice comfort feature when having no front office and person greeting you as you arrive. The check-in was very easy and anyone can do it. In fact, the front door was unlocked for us and our room door was open and ready for our occupancy. As we approached the house, my daughter mentioned she felt like a snack and upon arrival she found York Peppermint patties placed several places in the common areas. We would’ve LOVED to stay another night (or three) but we have to get back to reality!!
