I booking last night this restaurant me and my friend after few go outside pickup some food then we are come back door entrance card are not working I ringing the doorbell many time no body open the door me and my friend sleep all night outside sleep in my car very bad experience very bad

Very confusing on where to enter. Night club right beside. Run down neighborhood.

No elevator. Close to a lottery parlour. Hard drug being dealt outside the etablishment. Went here biking cross country. Cheap hotel if you bring your bike inside the room. 👌

They were upgrading so a bit messy. But understandable

Property was under renovation during my visit. Friendly staff, lots of dining options. Not bad for a stop over.

The property and particularly the room were under renovation. The thermostat temperature is not installed, electric and cable not protected, and face plates not on electrical outlet. Additional deposit on room in renovation was laughable.

No elevator 22 steps up to the 1st floor. Have to beg for towels and wash cloths. No room cleaning.

Rooms are no where as nice as in the photos needs a complete renovation the bar and vlt section are great and staff in the are awesome 👏

The problem with Winnipeg is that there are no backpacker hostels, so you've got to look at alternatives for affordable accommodation. I actually stayed here twice, on either side of a Via Rail train journey to Churchill. There were a few homeless, prostitutes and probably their pimps hanging around the carpark on the outdoor tables of the bottle shop next door, but I felt the area pretty safe. There's heaps of US franchise fast food outlets, I guess North Americans call them strip malls, you've got Walmart, a massive Canadian supermarket and a bunch of smaller supermarkets. Along with a shopping center or too, all within 5 -10 minutes walk, even a cinema complex. You can walk to Union Staton and downtown Winnipeg in just over an hour, granted initially it's through some industrial areas, next to a railway track and stuff. But there isn't much to see in the CBD, I actually was glad I was in this location when I returned the second time. By the way bus 47 goes from out front of Union Station (Main St where it meets Broadway) and drops you off pretty much in front of Cavalier. Cost $3.25. Much cheaper than a taxi. The place itself. Yeah it is in need of paint. Towels, bedding is stained (but it is clean). However showers in both rooms were hot and good pressure. Aircon worked.You could lock the door. Restaurant was never open except when had an Indian wedding in there which was noisy into the night. Didn't like the $100 damage deposit as makes checkout process lengthy.

This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The hallway carpets were stained and a disgusting smell hovered in the air. There was mold in the bathroom caulking. Open wires were on my room’s floor. I didn’t have shower due to the state of the tub. I didn’t trust the cleanliness of the towels.

Place was extremely dirty, bed was full of bed bugs, rugs were damp and smelly, entire property was old and stinking.

Absolutely horrible. Very run down. Broken furniture. Cigarette burns on blanket. The air conditioner looked like the filter wasn't cleaned at all this summer so we had to clean the nastiness off it. Walmart cheap pillows that go flat as a pancake as soon as you put your head into it. Mattress so worn out that it feels like a hole in the centre. Carpets were stained -don't take shoes off. Towels are stained so don't look washed.The entire room smelled like urine. Bathroom had black mold/mildew on tiles. During the time we were unpacking, we were accosted 3 times. 1) beggar for money or booze...whatever we had (we didnt have any) 2) a guy who stole a case of beer and wanted to sell it to us (we don't drink) 3) another wondering why we are in town. Very sketchy area. All around, pretty gross. Very scary place and we were worried for our safety...as well as the car.

First of all it was so damn smelly , hallway and even room full of cigarette smell, the carpet in the room very very dirtyseemed like this place was built like 100 years old , nasty stains all over the wall, there were roaches on the bed and in bathroom the bathroom had mould on the sink and in the shower, Seemed like bedsheets and vomforter was not washed. All in all this was worst motel i have ever been to. They even too $100 damage deposit , but for what i dont understand,. Staff was okay. I dont know how they given 3.6 stars on expedia, it should get 1 star , seems like the owners dont care to make this place any good. Horrible, horrible experience Seemsnlike thh

Overall the place is just gross. Broken lamps furniture dirty carpet the shower had hair all over it. Just in general a horrible place to stay. The only thing good was that it was 110 bucks a night as opposed to $200 in other places.

Absolutely filthy smelly TV didn’t work bedding smelt ended up leaving at 2:00 am

Very dirty with stained sheets and mattresses. People were yelling and banging against walls until 3am and management did nothing. There was no plug for the bathtub which was moldy anyway, half the lights didn't work, there was no remote for the tv, and the dresser was essentially nonfunctional. 0 stars

So the price was good, but that's about it. The towels were dirty, the lamps were broken, the linen was dirty. AC had dirt and dust all over it from months of build up. The beds were very uncomfortable. The roof was leaking through the chandelier in the main lobby, so was a big mess.

It was spacious and good for a couple of night stay but it is far from city center.

The property is very run down and is in desperate need of some renovation. However, the bed was comfortable and I was OK for one night. You cannot expect much for a price of around $90/night.

I only stayed one night. Carpet and bathroom floor were not well cleaned. Bedding was clean and stain free, but not very comfortable. There was a window ac unit, with the plastic shutter extenders to hold it in the window. This means there was no sound buffer and you can hear everything going on outside. Same with the doors. Just basic wood doors, like you’d have in your home for a bedroom, giving you no sound proofing. No coffee maker in the room, no extra pillows or blankets, old looking towels. Staff were nice and attentive.

The entire hotel room smelled of cigarette, did not have a remote control for the television in our room, only limited to one room key no matter how many guest. (Makes no sense). Wifi was also very poor quality. The room seems unmaintained, and outdated. Need repairs and renovations. Very noisy outside our room (103).

Bed not clean. Room blasted hot air with no option of a/c and couldn’t open window. Furniture broken. They refunded my $ and I left.

When i enter in the room there too much heat. Air conditioner is not working and checked out at 5:59 pm after 15-20 min

The wifi dosent work, The check in takes a long ass time,

I dont like the fact that i was deceived to pay for room with separate sitting but the hotel does not have such facility and i was not refunded for excess payment and no even apology. This was too bad

I have stayed here many times and have always given 5 stars until this last visit. A few minutes after I walked into my room I saw 2 mice run across the floor. The lady at the front desk was very apologetic and was able to move me to another room with no complints.

Had an emergency situation. Wouldn’t let us check in. Couldn’t cancel the reservation. Getting charged even though we couldn’t stay there. Horrible policies Inhumane staff. Never using Expedia or this motel again

I was charged for the room and for a deposit- even though it was supposed to be only a pre-approval. Check in took forever. They wanted to see my passport not just an enhanced license. The door locks were ripped off the wall. The closet door was broken. There was no bar to hold the toilet paper. The hall rugs were worn and dirty. The computer didn’t work at check in or check out.

The staff are so incredibly rude. I rented a room and they told me I hadn’t even though I had a confirmation email in regards to my booking. The front desk staff yelled at me and even told me to shut up. They even tried to take my cellphone from me? Do not waste your time and money here.

Staff wasn’t professional, we wanted the early checkin so we called the reception then the lady picked the call said that we can come at 11 am without any extra charges then we booked the room there but when we reached the property there was another lady and she asked to come at 1 pm .the property wasn’t maintained properly. Damaged furniture, walls were dirty.

The property and hotel is not in very good condition. It's old, smelly and just feels off putting. However, the location is very convenient and the staff were all nice and friendly. I tried to be cheap and got what I paid for.

This absolute dump of a motel is located a fair distance outside of Winnipeg’s centre core. After walking for over two hours, we were greeted by a very run-down and dilapidated motel, in the middle of a business park. The windows were all filthy, and the building was in a general state of disrepair. Upon entering into the dark, dingy lobby, we were greeted by a rude woman who seemed annoyed with us. I informed her of our reservation, and handed her my Visa and drivers license. Having recently relocated to Winnipeg from Victoria, and staying in hotels until I can find an apartment, I haven’t been able to update my license. Since my arrival, my license has expired. None of the other ten plus hotels, (all much higher-end than this hole) took any issue with my expired license. The woman working the front desk at the Cavalier, however, refused to accept my license, and refused to check us in. She even refused to accept my five different credit cards as proof of my identity. To be honest, we were glad they denied our reservation, due to the repugnant condition of the property. Relieved to be anywhere but that dump, we made reservations at the Fairmont Hotel in downtown Winnipeg, and had a lovely stay. We only decided to stay at this property, to save money, after staying at nicer properties for two weeks. I must recommend not staying at this terrible motel. The next time you’re in Winnipeg I highly recommend trying Alt Hotel, mere Hotel, and The Fairmont.

Please don’t choose this place it is very unsafe, the rooms are very dirty, people in other rooms kept screaming the entire night kept banging our doors, we were scared to death.

Restaurant was not open. doors stuck, broken picture on wall, light bulbs missing, not enough towels, old tattered furniture. Good area lots of restaurants and shopping.

Firstly, there was no Microwave in the room. I had to take my food downstairs & hand it over to a staff to warm or heat it up for me. Secondly, I had to do so reluntantly because I had no other option. I also had safety concern as the food was already cooked & I would have loved to heat it up in the privacy of my room. Thirdly, the little fridge in the room was completely out of order (not working). Fourthly, there was absolutely no breakfast service as other hotels do even with cheaper rooms rates. Six.The hotel was very noisy. The staff was even using the vacuum cleaner very late in the evening & disturbing. Seven. There was no privacy as there was no back entrance as other hotels are. The main front entrance was the only way in & out of the hotel. That was very inconveniencing. I am not sure if I will ever go back there again, or recommend anybody there. It is however my sincere hope that these very grave concerns will be urgently addressed.

You get what you pay for. Was a very nice facility in the past, could be in the future. Place was painted nicely on exterior. Bar had taps but no draft. I did not see an operating restaurant. Broken furniture in my room. I did not use the shower it did not look clean. AC did not work efficiently. Front desk were personable but you need tools and maintenance. staff

It wasn't very clean. No morning coffee or restaurant open. Fridge they advise is very small. It was affordable for a night stay.
