Great Staff. Great Rooms. Some of the room heaters made noise, but staff will replace them if requested. Tourist vans do not have access to door pickup due to the narrow street, so if you are going on tour vans you will walk three blocks (downhill) to Plaza de Armas.

Rumi Wasi was the perfect jump off spot for our trip to Peru. We booked the terrace room for our first two nights which offered stunning views from the hotel’s hilltop location and a quick downhill walk to Plaza de Armas. The walk back up the hill was challenging while we acclimated to Cusco’s altitude; however, it was always interesting as lively bars line the street leading to the hotel. There is no reception area at the hotel, but the staff was always available following a WhatsApp text. The hotel offers a nice breakfast each morning, and the hot water bottles at bedtime were also a highlight. The hotel also provides free luggage storage which was super helpful during our trip to Machu Picchu. If you’re looking for a gym, spa, etc, this isn’t the place for you; however, the views, friendly staff and location make Rumi Wasi a great place to stay on your Cusco adventure.

The hotel is built into a historic colonial building and has lots of character. If you want stay in a place that is not a typical hotel, this is it. The staff cooks a great breakfast and was extremely friendly and helpful, allowing us to store bags for a night and getting us an early morning car to the rail station with lots of bags. The hotel is easy walking distance to the plaza, historic sights, museums and shopping. To be fair, the hotel is located on a narrow, steep street. Also some of the rooms can be a bit small and there is no elevator. Overall I highly recommend this hotel for it's character, fantastic staff, and location.

Hotel is w/o reception and a challenge to check in. We had to reach out by phone in order to get access, and despite we announced and aligned about our arrival, we had to wait outside for someone to come with the key of the hotel. Overall room was nice and clean. Bathroom needs update. Roof terrace was nice but due to bad weather wasn´t used that much.

Historic old “stone house” with ample space and abundant charm. Manuel greeted us and spent 15 minutes giving us information about the town, altitude tips, etc.Very helpful. Make sure to have them arrange your taxis because it is in a pedestrian-only narrow street (taxis have to know how to access the property — not a big deal just use Manuel to arrange). Great experience staying at Rumi Wasi.

This was a beautiful hotel to stay in, with exceptional service from the staff. They made us feel incredibly welcomed and ensured we had plenty of information on how to adjust to the altitude and provided coca leaves and tea. The room was clean and in great condition, breakfast was fantastic, and we were no more than a 5 minute walk from the historic center.

This is a gorgeous hotel with an great service and breakfast. We loved its colonial style. It is also very well located in the Old Town Center. Unfortunately, it is located in a very steep street, and that was the only bad thing. Thank you.

The Staff was wonderful and eager to please. The rooms were clean and the hot water was hot. It is located on a narrow street where any tour van cannot access, so if you are taking a tour involving van transportation, expect to be picked up a the Plaza del Armas, which is only about three blocks away, going downhill from the hotel property. This is not an issue, except for when you don't feel like waking at 4:30 AM when the tour vans like to pick up tourists for trips to Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, etc... If you want door to door service, make sure it is a taxi that is picking you up. There is not hotel reception area. The street is also a busy night club area, so if you plan on dancing the night away, this is the hotel for you. The partying down the street goes on all (and I do mean all) night long, but there was zero issue with any noise reaching our hotel and we faced the street. The hotel property is a converted private villa. They do have a lovely room where guests can sit and enjoy macha/tea. We had a good experience here.

Awesome experience here! Hotel is a converted historic building, so there were limitations to having all the “modern” conveniences, but it was worth it. Really charming architecture and construction highlighting its history. Very clean rooms, bed was comfortable, and showers were fine. Even had a TV. Cool terrace on the top floor of the hotel to enjoy your morning breakfast. Hotel is located down a small dead-end street with very little car traffic. If you’re not used to the altitude, walking up/down the hills can leave you a bit out of breath. It’s a really short 5-minute walk to Plaza de Armas, which is a public square with many shops, church, and really good restaurants (my favorite was Ceviche Meat & Wine Co). The Plaza was a really nice place to hang out as it seemed to always be active with various activities and parades during my stay. The area felt pretty safe and I was never “concerned,” but it should be noted that there are quite a few bars/clubs located along the way between the hotel and the Plaza. They all seem to be frequented by really young 20s-and-unders, but they all seemed “well-behaved” and never bothered me. Service was excellent. Manuel was the best! He pleasantly accommodated our late check-in and really spent the extra time to explain everything to us, talk about the history of the building, and even emphasized the dangers of elevation sickness. He also arranged an early breakfast to accommodate our trip to Machu Picchu. Highly recommend!

Very large rooms, comfortable beds. Check in was odd, no reception. Had to ring bell for entry which is no problem until others are ringing throughout the night and morning. We really enjoyed both our stays here. Extremely clean, make to order breakfast daily, hot water bottles for under your covers and extremely helpful and nice staff. No regrets staying here, they also stored our luggage while we were hiking the Inka trail.

Location was excellent. Room was nice but infested with ants. Don’t leave a cookie out you will have 1000 ants on it. Staff is very pleasant and friendly but not available on any off hours. The hotel did not follow through on commitments. We only got one breakfast out of three because they need to send you a form and failed to send it 2 out of 3 days. Airport transportation was included but I was made to pay the driver directly coming in. They were to setup our tours but failed to get it done on time so we lost one whole days touring. Then Machu Pichu only got to see one section out of three account no tickets left for the other two when they went to book.

The setting is amazing! A 1700’s building with cobblestone streets next to the city center. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. My only complaint is the room we were in had the same sliding glass door for both the shower and the toilet. There is no privacy for the toilet. The other room we were in has a separate toilet room.

We had a room with a private rooftop. It had an amazing view of the city. The location is very walkable. We checked in late, and the staff was welcoming and even held our bags for us when we checked out to be able to walk around and explore more!

The building, especially the courtyard, is beautiful. However the room we stayed in was a bit smaller than what we expected from the picture so if you have a lot of luggage, opt for the bigger rooms. Breakfast is ok. There are lots of coca leaves to make tea. The balcony has a great view of the city.

Rumí wasi served the best breakfast! You order it to what you like, have an option to be delivered to your room as you wish. The staffs are wonderful. All of the 3 ladies I've encountered with are very helpful. I was greeted with coca tea while waiting to check in. There is no early check in or late check out. The room is wonderful and quiet. Except some occasional times when the door bell rings or guests slammed the door. Hot water is not consistent but not the end of the world. I was able to leave my luggage when went to Machu Picchu and stayed overnight.waiting to buy ticket. When I returned, they were so kind giving me the same room I had stayed with my luggage waiting in it. It feels like I was coming home sleeping in the same bed. Highly recommended if you look for a nice quiet place to rest from a daily tour while in Cusco

When I returned, they were so kind giving me the same room I had stayed with my luggage waiting in it. It feels like I was coming home sleeping in the same bed. Highly recommended if you look for a nice quiet place to rest from a daily tour while in Cusco

Very large rooms, comfortable beds. Check in was odd, no reception. Had to ring bell for entry which is no problem until others are ringing throughout the night and morning. Showers are not for seniors, high step in. Had to walk thru crowded, noisy disco area 1/2 block from hotel. Service was great.

Amazing hotel, Beautiful rustic look. Breakfast was included and it’s 2 blocks away from the plaza de armas. Staff was polite and welcoming. Room was spacious, clean, hot water and excellent WiFi.

The property host, Manuel reached out to us prior to our arrival and offered transportation from the airport. This was excellent as the driver was waiting for us at the airport when we arrived. The property is very clean and quaint. Manuel also gave excellent advise to adjust to the altitude. Breakfast is ordered the night before and you pick the time and location where you want to eat. Everything was excellent and we plan to be back in 5 days.

I stayed in this hotel 2 other times the same week...choosing this hotel when I needed to adjust my plans. The building is adorable, the ladies who tend to you are incredible. I was prepared to give this another 5 star rating until the manager, Maguel, made some not so nice statements. The 1st two visits were paid through Expedia however this last one was not and I didn’t realize it. This was my fault and I left without paying. He contacted a friend of mine to advise of this and in the same message threatened to take the payment from one of the ladies if I didn’t pay. He said this before we had even responded to ask how we could make the payment. All is paid for now and I hope Miguel learns how to be a decent human and a good manager.

We had an excellent stay at Rumi Wasi. In particular, Manuel Amaut was outstanding, and his English language skills were super helpful! Upon arrival, Manuel provided wise counsel about acclimating to the altitude, which was spot on. This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in! Manuel, our host, was amazing - he kindly met with us the evening we came in and gave us some very helpful advice about altitude sickness. He made sure we had taxis and the rides we needed to and from all our activities. Breakfast was prompt and perfect to get us ready for the day. What a beautiful hotel!

Our stay at Rumi Wasi could not have been better and made our trip to Cuzco perfect. The manager Manuel went above and beyond to make sure our stay was everything we hoped for and beyond! He was extremely helpful in making sure we avoided altitude sickness, gave the best recommendations for restaurants and local places to visit and even got us last minute tickets to Macchu Picchu (which every other agency told us was impossible). Our trip truly would not have been the same without Miguel and Rumí Wasi and we are so grateful. It was really like having a friend in Cuzco. The hotel itself is historic and beautiful with so many charming touches. It is also very close (a short walk) to the main square but far enough that it is nice and quiet at night. Our room had a rooftop terrace which gave us unbelievable views of Cuzco where we loved taking our breakfast and coffee up there (which was provided by the hotel and delicious). I could keep going on with praise but the main point is that our stay was magical and when we come back to Cuzco, we would never stay anywhere else. :)

Location was excellent. Room was nice but infested with ants. Don’t leave a cookie out you will have 1000 ants on it. Staff is very pleasant and friendly but not available on any off hours. The hotel did not follow through on commitments. We only got one breakfast out of three because they need to send you a form and failed to send it 2 out of 3 days. Airport transportation was included but I was made to pay the driver directly coming in. They were to setup our tours but failed to get it done on time so we lost one whole days touring. Then Machu Pichu only got to see one section out of three account no tickets left for the other two when they went to book.

Awesome experience here! Hotel is a converted historic building, so there were limitations to having all the “modern” conveniences, but it was worth it. Really charming architecture and construction highlighting its history. Very clean rooms, bed was comfortable, and showers were fine. Even had a TV. Cool terrace on the top floor of the hotel to enjoy your morning breakfast. Hotel is located down a small dead-end street with very little car traffic. If you’re not used to the altitude, walking up/down the hills can leave you a bit out of breath. It’s a really short 5-minute walk to Plaza de Armas, which is a public square with many shops, church, and really good restaurants (my favorite was Ceviche Meat & Wine Co). The Plaza was a really nice place to hang out as it seemed to always be active with various activities and parades during my stay. The area felt pretty safe and I was never “concerned,” but it should be noted that there are quite a few bars/clubs located along the way between the hotel and the Plaza. They all seem to be frequented by really young 20s-and-unders, but they all seemed “well-behaved” and never bothered me. Service was excellent. Manuel was the best! He pleasantly accommodated our late check-in and really spent the extra time to explain everything to us, talk about the history of the building, and even emphasized the dangers of elevation sickness. He also arranged an early breakfast to accommodate our trip to Machu Picchu. Highly recommend!

I stayed here almost 7 years ago with my parents, happy to have returned with my now husband and family to this beautiful and quiet hotel that still remains a gem. Very close to Plaza de armas. No reception, but staff are very kind and manager is very communicative and available via WhatsApp.

Great Staff. Great Rooms. Some of the room heaters made noise, but staff will replace them if requested. Tourist vans do not have access to door pickup due to the narrow street, so if you are going on tour vans you will walk three blocks (downhill) to Plaza de Armas.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Rumi Wasi. The hotel is so beautiful - the art niches, the flowers, amazing! The staff were so friendly and helpful. From advice on dealing with the altitude to restaurant recommendations to storing our luggage, they were great. Breakfast was delicious with eggs cooked to order. Can't beat the location just off the Plaza. We highly recommend the Rumi Wasi!

Super Friendly and helpful staff. The hotel was located in a small street with some nightclubs (but not noisy at all) and we felt safe the whole time. Cusco has a lot of security and this hotel is located really close to plaza de armas which is a pickup spot for most of the tours. So very convenient!!

Rumi Wasi was an excellent home base for our time in Cusco! Our first 3 nights we stayed in the suite with the private rooftop terrace and we loved our cute, cozy room with amazing views from the terrace. Our 4th night we booked a standard room which was good for just one night, would recommend the suite for a longer stay. The breakfast each morning is included in the price and they offered a nice customizable breakfast with fresh squeezed juice (so good!!) that we enjoyed on our terrace and then on the hotel’s little covered balcony which was great for the rainy day. One complaint I have, and this is in no way the fault of the hotel, is that it’s located on a street that has lots of bars/clubs so at night the music was very loud. In the suite room, we could hear the music all night long and this was on a Monday-Wednesday… my husband had earplugs which made it fine for him but I was bothered by it. I am so torn because I would absolutely recommend this hotel based on the hotel itself, and loved my stay overall, but the music situation was rough. In the second room we stayed in this was a non-issue because it’s not located on that part of the street. I have to shout out Manuel who was the hotel manager to greet us on our first night. He went above and beyond to help us with various things: arranging taxis, connecting us with a guide for Machu Picchu, making sure we were fully aware of altitude sickness and just overall such a kind and wonderful person. He was the best!

What a find. After a 5 day trek, splashed out and was delighted. Firstly, the concierge Manuel could not be more helpful and was happy to keep a bag in storage until I returned from the trek. The hotel is gorgeous - only a handful of rooms, peaceful, the breakfast deck has a superb view over Cusco. Breakfast cooked to order. The room was very comfortable, everything worked perfectly and the shower was absolutely fantastic - including the massage feature. Plus airport shuttle is included. Hard to imagine a better hotel. Thanks!!

We stayed at the hotel for four nights while we enjoyed Cusco and found it was safe and easy to walk around. We left our gear there while we hiked the Inca trail and stayed one more night before leaving for Lima. Breakfast was good and made to order. The view from the balcony was beautiful!

Very unique, colorful, and beautiful hotel. We really enjoyed the service, the amenities and the location of this hotel. It is very close to plaza de armas in Cusco. We loved the architecture and atmosphere of this property. However, there are a few things to keep in mind when booking: The hotel is located on a steep slope. While it's easy to walk down to Plaza de Armas, the climb back can be quite uncomfortable. There isn't a proper lobby or a space to wait or relax. Breakfast is included, which is a plus, but the portions are small, with limited options. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed the terrace for breakfast on days with good weather, and Bruna's kindness and friendliness added to the experience. I’d recommend this property if you don’t mind the slope. However, for my next visit to Cusco, I’d prefer a hotel on flatter terrain.

While it's easy to walk down to Plaza de Armas, the climb back can be quite uncomfortable. There isn't a proper lobby or a space to wait or relax. Breakfast is included, which is a plus, but the portions are small, with limited options. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed the terrace for breakfast on days with good weather, and Bruna's kindness and friendliness added to the experience. I’d recommend this property if you don’t mind the slope. However, for my next visit to Cusco, I’d prefer a hotel on flatter terrain.

Rumí wasi served the best breakfast! You order it to what you like, have an option to be delivered to your room as you wish. The staffs are wonderful. All of the 3 ladies I've encountered with are very helpful. I was greeted with coca tea while waiting to check in. There is no early check in or late check out. The room is wonderful and quiet. Except some occasional times when the door bell rings or guests slammed the door. Hot water is not consistent but not the end of the world. I was able to leave my luggage when went to Machu Picchu and stayed overnight.waiting to buy ticket. When I returned, they were so kind giving me the same room I had stayed with my luggage waiting in it. It feels like I was coming home sleeping in the same bed. Highly recommended if you look for a nice quiet place to rest from a daily tour while in Cusco

Our stay at the Rumí Wasi was fantastic! The hotel is so beautiful and charming. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience - helping with airport transportation, advice for dealing with the altitude, suggesting restaurants, holding our baggage while we went to Machu Picchu. The made-to-order breakfast was delicious. We really can’t say enough good things about Rumi Wasi. Highly recommend!

Cute little property, up a steep hill which doesn’t help with the high altitude, but you get used to it, day 1 was hard. Close to restaurants and bars, there was always police presence in the street near the bars which helped. Breakfast is basic but cute, has a little communal area.

The property is charming and the staff was helpful when they were there. If there was no one around the only way to get help was to text someone from a code which I found a little unsettling. I wondered if anyone was actually on the property which I think there always should be and maybe there was but there was no way to tell. No door with a sign anywhere. Anyway, I checked out the night before I left because I had an early morning flight and when I went to get water from the lobby and came back to the room I had been locked out. The system automatically locked the door and the person who checked me out didn't seem to know that would happen. Thank goodness there was a person in the lobby, who didn't work there, who I asked for help and she texted the what's app number for me because I couldn't get into the room to access that code.

Our stay was short but the location was excellent and the staff very helpful and attentive. Breakfast was exactly what we needed. Beautiful accommodation and very comfortable beds. We had a spacious family room perfect for the three of us. Really appreciated our time there
