The website listing said that no elevators are available. For someone who recently experienced a full hip replacement it would have been very helpful if the website actually said all rooms are on the second floor. Otherwise, the visit was quite pleasant.

When we arrived, we were greeted by a very welcoming gentleman who is currently managing the property for the owners. He gave us dining and entertainment tips, and was very knowledgeable about the area. This is definitely a quaint little hotel that's more like a bed and breakfast...minus the breakfast, though the coffee/tea selection was diverse. The hotel is located on the main street in downtown Silverton with parking on the street right out front in a very walkable town. The room was quite clean and cozy. Visiting in July, it was rather unfortunate that the room didn't have air conditioning, but it's understandable given the age of the property, and opening the windows worked just fine. Would definitely recommend for a couple or solo traveler!

The only problem we had was the steep stairs up to our room. But it is a historical building so it is the way it has to be no room for a elevator. Since we are older it would have been nice for the staff to help us up the stairs with luggage. But our room was so very clean and great bed and bath. The weather was warmer than normal so we had to open the window to cool the room but has a ceiling fan.

We had a nice stay at the Teller House. It's an old style hotel which has been tastefully restored. It's right in the center of town.. Nice fixtures and everything worked. There were adequate plugins for charging notebooks or cell phones. Our room had a skylight and high ceiling. Could have used a hook next to the shower and a low flow or adjustable shower head but it worked fine. The hotel itself is on the second floor so about 50 steps to get up there. Not much street noise and great to be able to open a window.

Nice little historic hotel with well-appointed rooms on the second floor. Very quiet, very limited staff, long flight of stairs from street level. Right in the heart of Silverton, very convenient.

Gorgeous room with very comfortable beds and lovely ski themed decor. Nice little kitchenette with coffee, tea, micro, shared fridge. All you need for your ski trip to Silverton!! We had a room with a private bath but other rooms had shared bath. The innkeepers were extremely friendly and helpful. Location was on the main street, walking distance to everything in town.

Teller House is wonderful! It’s perfectly downtown and is chock full of period appropriate antiques. It reminds me so much of my grandma’s 1886 house. Weird side note: the lighting in the room was gorgeous (we had street facing windows) and would make a killer photo shoot (think bridal vibes). We were in room 10 and had to share a bathroom down the hallway. No issues. If we ever came back to Silverton, we’d stay at Teller House in a heartbeat. Please note: not ADA accessible. There is a flight of stairs to climb.

Beautiful hotel. Very clean and check in was the easiest and friendly as could be. It’s nice knowing that a hotel isn’t waiting at the desk charging you a crazy deposit and holding money like you’re going to trash the place. I loved the honest approach to check in and I felt safe and secure. Would stay here again.

What a lovely hotel in the heart of Silverton! Check in was so very easy! The couple managing the property were absolutely wonderful! The property was clean, quiet and cozy…everything we were hoping for. Would highly recommend!

The Teller House was a wonderful place to stay. It is perfectly located for a few days of exploring the area and the Million Dollar highway. It has charm, was located right on the main street, clean, and comfortable. Check in and out was easy and seamless. We highly recommend it!

You don’t see any staff. You go up a long staircase from an open door to an empty reception area. Your name is on the door to your room. It is unlocked with the key inside. The room was clean and comfortable except it was warm and couldn’t get window open. Cute coffee/tea area. Drop your key in bowl on counter and leave. No person around.

It was not clear in making this reservation that the room did not come with a bathroom. Upon arrival, this fact led us to upgrade to a room with a bathroom at an extra $35 charge. This seemed unsatisfactory then and it still rankles. It also was not clear from the reservation that it would be necessary to carry suitcases up an extended flight of stairs to the hotel proper. There is no elevator. We are seniors. The woman in charge intimated that if we were younger, this would not be a problem.

Great room and it all worked well. It was a bit unusual not to have a personal check in, but they had a good solution for it. The joint bathroom was good, although it felt like there were many rooms to that one bathroom. The stairs up was a challenge with suitcases and a poor back. The room itself was lovely and beautifully arranged. Loved it!

The hotel was very tastefully furnished. Clean. Close to walking around town. Surprisingly quiet with having the windows open all night on the main street in town. The room was hot when I checked in and it took hours to cool down. Staff could have closed the blinds before check in to keep it cooler. I was in room 10. I never saw any staff except housekeeping person when I left in the morning.

If you want an easy walk to every placebin Silverton, this hotel is your jam. Very friendly staff, clean common areas and impeccably-made rooms, nice coffee and tea bar. Only drawbacks: thin walls and old heating that is hard to dial in to a specific temperature. But those are solvable problems (ear plugs, layers) and the experience of staying at the hotel is worth it!

This was really bizarre. We had booked the Teller House a little before 7pm on the day of our booking. We received confirmation from Expedia and arrived at the hotel a bit after 9pm. We arrived at the Teller House without a soul in sight. We called the number at the front desk numerous times (me, 4x), and my friend, 2x, so we could see which room was ours so we could sleep for the night since we had been driving all day. An hour goes by, and after trying to figure out what to do, not a single call is returned and we cannot tell if anyone is in the hotel or not (according to the guest book there was potentially one more guest there). All the lights were off in every room and every door was wide open, which was rather creepy. We booked the hotel based on the reviews, and honestly, if we either received a call back or were greeted at the door, our experience would have been much different. We did not receive a call/text until the next morning letting us know that they were unable to accommodate due to a recital and were not even asked if we were able to find other accommodations. We were lucky to had called the hotel across the street who happened to still be there when we called and were able to book. PLEASE confirm that someone will give you your room before arriving there, please. All doors are unlocked and as two females traveling late at night, this felt very unsafe and scary for us.
This was really bizarre. We had booked the Teller House a little before 7pm on the day of our booking. We received confirmation from Expedia and arrived at the hotel a bit after 9pm. We arrived at the Teller House without a soul in sight. We called the number at the front desk numerous times (me, 4x), and my friend, 2x, so we could see which room was ours so we could sleep for the night since we had been driving all day. An hour goes by, and after trying to figure out what to do, not a single call is returned and we cannot tell if anyone is in the hotel or not (according to the guest book there was potentially one more guest there). All the lights were off in every room and every door was wide open, which was rather creepy. Beautiful historic hotel in a perfect location. Very clean. Never saw any staff in four days, but we really didn’t need anything. The stairs would be tough for older folks with luggage. Best for more adventurous people who really appreciate the opportunity to stay in beautiful historic buildings.

It was an old hotel but it was decorated in a beautiful 1900 style. Clean, in the heart of Silverton. There noone at the front office. It was self service. Ive texed and called the number for service no one answered. Therefore you could not get a blanket or towles. I dont think the front door was locked at night. The hotel it self has a great atmosphere.

Teller House is an old style pre-TV inn. Furnishings include many well-selected antiques, The location is in the downtown area of Silverton, next door and across the street from shops, restaurants, etc. It's about two blocks from the drop-off location of the Durango-Silverton narrow gauge railroad line. Our only dislike was the 25 steps up stairs to get to the rooms.

When we arrived, we were greeted by a very welcoming gentleman who is currently managing the property for the owners. He gave us dining and entertainment tips, and was very knowledgeable about the area. This is definitely a quaint little hotel that's more like a bed and breakfast...minus the breakfast, though the coffee/tea selection was diverse. The hotel is located on the main street in downtown Silverton with parking on the street right out front in a very walkable town. The room was quite clean and cozy. Visiting in July, it was rather unfortunate that the room didn't have air conditioning, but it's understandable given the age of the property, and opening the windows worked just fine. Would definitely recommend for a couple or solo traveler!

The Teller House was a wonderful place to stay. It is perfectly located for a few days of exploring the area and the Million Dollar highway. It has charm, was located right on the main street, clean, and comfortable. Check in and out was easy and seamless. We highly recommend it!

Gorgeous room with very comfortable beds and lovely ski themed decor. Nice little kitchenette with coffee, tea, micro, shared fridge. All you need for your ski trip to Silverton!! We had a room with a private bath but other rooms had shared bath. The innkeepers were extremely friendly and helpful. Location was on the main street, walking distance to everything in town.

If you want an easy walk to every placebin Silverton, this hotel is your jam. Very friendly staff, clean common areas and impeccably-made rooms, nice coffee and tea bar. Only drawbacks: thin walls and old heating that is hard to dial in to a specific temperature. But those are solvable problems (ear plugs, layers) and the experience of staying at the hotel is worth it!

The ensuite shower room was well equipped with modern fittings in a traditional style. The whole decor matched the setting. I really enjoyed the experience here and would select this hotel if I came here again. If you are looking for a modern sleek hotel with identical box like rooms, this is not the place for you.

A wonderful stay! My only caution is that the hair dryer was stored in a drawer in the bedroom - nowhere near the bathroom (attached to our room) and no note that it was in there! It would have been nice to know it was available. Also, we quickly ran out of Kleenex, and there was no staff to ask for a replacement.

This is such a charming, well maintained, historical property! Truly one of the cleanest rooms I’ve ever rented. The hotel is quiet, safe and I love that there isn’t a tv in the room. The guest breakroom is fully stocked. Enjoyed Keurig coffee in the morning before heading out to hike. I would definitely stay here again.
