We found friendly staff, nothing too much trouble. Super Continental Breakfast, plus a large cooked breakfast on the Friday morning. Comfy, clean room with all amenities in peaceful area at rear of the pub. Evening meals good value especially mid week...super veggie burger. Parking safe and easy. Nothing to fault...will be back again....thanks

Clean room, powerful shower and pleasant situation. The walls were a bit thin so you could hear cisterns refilling and you could feel the springs through the mattress. Also the tv did not work and neither did the bathroom mirror light. The outdoor garden was nice and the staff were friendly and cheerful.

We were visiting friends in the village. Room was nice and warm, staff very helpful, good selection at breakfast. We opted for the full English which was good. Perfect do our stay plus dog friendly.

A useful place to stay when visiting Avebury. Basic rustic accommodation. Unfortunately, when we arrived we discovered that the kitchen was closed other than for breakfasts. However, the Prince of Wales across the road was open for meals. We had two cooked breakfasts here, deliciously cooked by different staff. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful, prividing a home away from home experience. Bed was comfy and we slept soundly. Our dog was treated wonderfully.

Really nice chalet accommodation behind the main property. Easy parking on street and at rear. Located in a pretty village. Plenty of breakfast options, though quality of the full English was only average. Reasonably priced and good value.

Fantastic place to stay. Everyone attentive, friendly and helpful and dog friendly. Excellent breakfast, extensive continentalplus full english at weekends. Room opens directly onto courtyard amd garden which was great for the dog. Lovely comfortable bed.

Was myself and my friend who stayed here for 2 nights for the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford. Great location for a 25 minute travel between the two places. Slight hiccup upon arrival but sorted very quickly. The owner (Ben) is a delightful guy who very much went out of his way to make up for the hiccup, and couldn't have been nicer or done more. He even made up a breakfast bag for me to take with me when I departed early on my last morning. Thank you Ben! The bar area in general is a great size, loads of space to move about. There's a pool table, darts board, and a TV available in the bar area. there are two outside seating areas, one of which has a number of tables and large umbrellas, the other on a grassy area beyond the rear car park. A couple of things which could be improved. Could do with at least one more member of bar staff. When we arrived, Zack was the only guy in there (it seemed) and he was running around trying to do his best, but was clearly in need of assistance. Food that we had was great, looked great, tasted lovely, and a decent size, menu was a little small but that's being really picky as I'm a fussy eater. Overall my experience was positive, and will likely stay there again. Thanks to the team who did a great job.

Live private events that made dinner options limited or rushed. I found alternative places to eat for evening meal. (Chinese and Indian restaurants in short walking distance. Shops and other pubs that have hot food) Although breakfast was excellent, continental with a large range of fruit, yoghurts etc. Parking is on the street but free, no room at the back of the hotel/pub.

We spent 24 hours at The Barrington Arms. Room 2 was basic but very clean and quiet, adjacent the patio area at the back of the pub. Every members of the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had some delicious food and the breakfast was spot on. The only area of improvement I feel to mention is the bed/mattress would need to be replaced. Many Thanks

A very pleasant hotel and well maintained. I had a very comfortable five night stay in the Barrington Arms. The bed was large and comfortable. I travel for business and as a result, I stay in a lot of different hotels. The vast majority of hotels no longer service your rooms and blame Covid. I was very pleased that The Barrington Arms still service rooms. There was a continental breakfast served Monday to Thursday from 7am was suited me as I needed to be at work before 8am. Unfortunately the cooked breakfast on a Friday starts at 8am and therefore I was at work before breakfast. The staff did supply me with a continental breakfast on the Friday. I will stay again when in the area.

Suggested improvements would be upgrading the sockets to USB ones & adding a mirror in the bedroom. Staff were helpful & friendly provided a relaxed welcoming service. We thought it great value for the price paid. We were impressed with the size of the room and how quiet it was so we had great sleep. Shower pressure was amazing. Would definitely stay again.

We stopped for a single night and was amazed at the service we received, shown to our room and was very surprised on the size of out room....It was Huge. Breakfast the next morning was made to order and a good array of item for breakfast, staff was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

Lovely area friendly staff, only problem was the bed has wooden sides and a low mattress which means you hurt the back of your legs trying to get out of bed the mattress needs higher.

Our stay was good. We were in rooms at the back of the pub which suited us well. They were warm and clean. The young man who served breakfast was a credit to the hotel. He was very friendly and attended to our large group of 12 in a relaxed but wfficient manner.

Our room had a recently refurbished bathroom, which was good (although the machine linked to the toilet did make an unexpected noise from time-to-time). However, the overall feeling was that the hotel was poorly organised. In particular, the breakfast arrangements were slow and insufficient thought had been put into thinking about what the clients might need (and not know where to find) etc.

The staff made us feel very welcome and breakfast was delicious. Shrivenham is a beautiful village and the Barrington Arms was perfectly located for our stay. Can’t beat it for value for money.

My room was in the older part of the main pub, and whilst some of the building was ageing, the room was well looked after and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating to all requests. This is a traditional homely hotel and excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

Was myself and my friend who stayed here for 2 nights for the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford. Great location for a 25 minute travel between the two places. Slight hiccup upon arrival but sorted very quickly. The owner (Ben) is a delightful guy who very much went out of his way to make up for the hiccup, and couldn't have been nicer or done more. He even made up a breakfast bag for me to take with me when I departed early on my last morning. Thank you Ben! The bar area in general is a great size, loads of space to move about. There's a pool table, darts board, and a TV available in the bar area. there are two outside seating areas, one of which has a number of tables and large umbrellas, the other on a grassy area beyond the rear car park. A couple of things which could be improved. Could do with at least one more member of bar staff. When we arrived, Zack was the only guy in there (it seemed) and he was running around trying to do his best, but was clearly in need of assistance. I stayed in one of annex rooms off the main Hotel building. The room was very clean and very well presented. I rarely sleep well away from home but I found the bed very comfortable and I slept surprisingly well! En suite bathrooms were good too. All of the staff were friendly, polite and helpful. The pub itself was welcoming and a great place to sit. It does get busy at peak times but I would be surprised if it didn't! The only Flaw: The food was well cooked and very tasty. It is traditional pub food, so could be considered a small menu but there was a good choice. However, the time it took to get food seemed unreasonable. On a not-busy evening, it took nearly 45 mins from ordering (pie and chips and vegetable dish) , and at breakfast it took over 30 mins for eggs on toast (eggs Benedict). It's not a deal breaker as the hotel and accommodation are great but due to the delays in food, we chose to eat elsewhere. A shame as the food (when it came) was very nice! Overall, a recommended stay.

We spent 24 hours at The Barrington Arms. Room 2 was basic but very clean and quiet, adjacent the patio area at the back of the pub. Every members of the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had some delicious food and the breakfast was spot on. The only area of improvement I feel to mention is the bed/mattress would need to be replaced. Many Thanks

Quiet and great location, walking distance to other places. Car parking available with ease, room has everything you need for your stay. There are a couple of things that could make the room a better experience but I would still rate it as very good and recommend

We had a very pleasant 3 night stay. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout from initial welcome to final farewell. The room was large enough clean and warm, the bed had a solid frame, the mattress was softer than my preference but my wife was happy. The bathroom was large with a spacious powerful shower. We had a continental breakfast on our 1st morning which was supplemented with cooked to order options at the weekend. A particular highlight was the fresh berries on offer. Shrivenham is is a small a quiet setting giving a peaceful night's sleep which is a big plus compared to many Swindon hotels

A useful place to stay when visiting Avebury. Basic rustic accommodation. Unfortunately, when we arrived we discovered that the kitchen was closed other than for breakfasts. However, the Prince of Wales across the road was open for meals. We had two cooked breakfasts here, deliciously cooked by different staff. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful, prividing a home away from home experience. Bed was comfy and we slept soundly. Our dog was treated wonderfully.

The staff made us feel very welcome and breakfast was delicious. Shrivenham is a beautiful village and the Barrington Arms was perfectly located for our stay. Can’t beat it for value for money.

Really nice chalet accommodation behind the main property. Easy parking on street and at rear. Located in a pretty village. Plenty of breakfast options, though quality of the full English was only average. Reasonably priced and good value.

We stopped for a single night and was amazed at the service we received, shown to our room and was very surprised on the size of out room....It was Huge. Breakfast the next morning was made to order and a good array of item for breakfast, staff was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

Our room had a recently refurbished bathroom, which was good (although the machine linked to the toilet did make an unexpected noise from time-to-time). However, the overall feeling was that the hotel was poorly organised. In particular, the breakfast arrangements were slow and insufficient thought had been put into thinking about what the clients might need (and not know where to find) etc.

We stayed at The Barrington Arms for the first time this weekend while visiting family in Shrivenham. The room was enough for what we needed, very clean bathroom and a comfy bed. Fantastic breakfast and a gluten free option too! I would definitely recommend.

A very pleasant hotel in Shrivenham, probably not on many peoples radar when going to the Cotswolds. Well placed if you have transport to visit the more tourist known places. Nice staff, good breakfast and decent rooms. the old part of Shrivenham is a pretty place with some nice old buildings and little side streets and alleys. Not too much in the way of local amenities, a pub and an Indian restaurant(very good) in the same street and a cafe.

Lovely location. Beautiful village. Watched cricket on village park area. Staff friendly and welcoming. Pub bar nice. Lovely outdoor areas. Good menus. Accommodation a bit tired...needs a bit of a freshen up. Window latch loose. Shaver light not working and no light bulb in clothes cupboard. Bed comfortable and shower good. Complimentary tea and coffee good, especially Taylors Coffee Bags! Didn't try the food in the evening as already eaten and skipped breakfast as not hungry. Breakfast area seemed nice.

Really good location to explore the Cotswolds and surrounding area. Lovely rooms with direct access to a lovely beer garden. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Really nice selection of food for breakfast, good cooked breakfast. Will definately return.

Room was clean but hot, due to the weather, but no air con. Bathroom spacious and clean. Full English breakfast was delicious and filling. Friendly staff at all times. Could do with tidying up around the back, bins and old metalwork etc. But the front was very pretty. We will stay there again and highly recommend it.
