A perfect base for a seven day exploration of the Yorkshire Dales. Brilliant to arrive back each day knowing we had off street private parking and secure WiFi for business needs and walking distance to a selection of eatery’s for dinner. Of course each day commenced with an a la carte breakfast menu, set in a dining room with beautiful white linen tablecloths and a most gracious hostess. All staff went above and beyond to cater for our requirements. Thank you.
A perfect base for a seven day exploration of the Yorkshire Dales. From checking in the staff were friendly and very polite. The breakfast was excellent, cooked fresh and to perfection with plenty of toast and coffee on tap. There was plenry of choice as well as a continental option. The room was excellent and the honesty bar is a great touch and not expensive for a late night treat or glass of wine.

The hotel room was large and well furnished, though the bed was slightly uncomfortable and I think the mattress had seen better days. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was good and catered pretty well for our vegan diet, though the vegan milk options were somewhat limited. The hotel is ideally placed for access to Knaresborough town centre and had ample private parking.

We actually stayed in these rooms are lovely and bigger than the rooms in the main building. One of the highlights is the available sitting room and the included breakfasts. The breakfast experience is reminscient of the traditional dining experience fitting for this historic part of Yorkshire.

Our room was clean and spacious. The decor throughout Orchard House is beautiful and there is also a comfortable lounge area. The breakfast was delicious and offered plenty of choice. We have enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it.

Last minute booking for weekend away. Lovely, very large, honeymoon room with 4 poster bed, mini bar etc. Staff fantastic: pleasant, cheerful, very polite & couldn't do enough for you. Hotel centrally located within easy walking distance of shops, bars, restaurants, Knaresborough castle etc. Fantastic breakfast. Free parking. Would definitely recommend & stay there again!

Great selection for breakfast and very tasty. Comfy bed. It was market day (Wednesday) so traffic was really busy, we was having trouble finding somewhere to park, I telephoned the hotel and asked if it was okay to park early, they said yes and also I asked if we could park beyond our checkout time and they said yes. So stress free excellent service and experience 👍

Fantastic stay at The Orchard Club. Great communication from the hosts. Lots of parking available. Very close to the main market square so great situation. Beautiful property with lots of period furniture, pretty prints and William Morris wallpaper. Bedroom was huge with a king size bed. Thoughtful touches like snacks and wine in a fridge with an ‘honesty’ box. Breakfast was the best I’ve had in a long time with several options like full English, smoked salmon and scrambled egg, eggs Benedict and a large selection of fruit and nuts as extras if you were still hungry! Staff were very attentive and polite. A really enjoyable night. Thoroughly recommend!

The very old property, about 300 years old, is on a main road, so I knew that there would be road noise when I booked. However, it was really beautiful inside and the bed was comfortable and the room clean. It is also in the town centre and an easy walk to the railway station that has a good and regular service to York in one direction and Leeds in the other. As a result, I left my car in the car park and walked and took the train to places that I wished to visit. In the room, the TV was good, though some Freeview channels were missing and some had poor reception. I think it just needs to be retuned, though it may need a new aerial.

Staff were amazing and very friendly and breakfast was superb. The building is very tired but in time im sure they will get it looking amazing again. Our room was very spacious but just tired looking and just need a little more dusting, overall a nice stay.

The hotel was looking a bit tired but then it is an old building. My room was clean and airy and had everything I could have needed in it (even a fan which was much appreciated). Location to the market square, within walking distance. Parking, once found, was close to the hotel. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

Staff were welcoming, friendly & effecient. Room large & clean with lots of extras - tea, coffee, biscuits, bottled water, eye mask & earplugs (should they be needed). Bathroom large & clean. Lovely towels & good shower. Beds comfortable. Breakfast super with plenty of choices. (Proper tablecloths a bonus). Enjoyed our stay - will be back

This has to be the worst hotel I have stayed in, in a long time. That bad I checked out a day early of my 2 night stay. The hotel smells of mould/dirt and just ran down. The shower in the room was barely giving out water which was poor to say the least. Staff wearing just normal everyday clothes so you had no idea they worked there. I would avoid this hotel at all costs - DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Excellent service and breakfast. Our room was at the top and front of the hotel. As the hotel is on a main road, there was a lot of traffic noise which we weren't used to. That was the only issue we had in an otherwise comfortable stay.

Staff were absolutely brilliant and went above and beyond! Breakfast was good with a range of options - again staff willing to go the extra mile to meet guests needs. Due to the room we stayed in facing the front we did have traffic noises keeping us up at points in the nights even with the window closed - I presume this is down to the age of the property.

Neighbouring room was separated by a door rather than a wall and it felt like the occupants were in the same room as us. Very loud and inconsiderate neighbours. And kid running about upstairs so lots of thuds from above. Not the restful stay we were hoping for.

The very old property, about 300 years old, is on a main road, so I knew that there would be road noise when I booked. However, it was really beautiful inside and the bed was comfortable and the room clean. It is also in the town centre and an easy walk to the railway station that has a good and regular service to York in one direction and Leeds in the other. As a result, I left my car in the car park and walked and took the train to places that I wished to visit. In the room, the TV was good, though some Freeview channels were missing and some had poor reception. I think it just needs to be retuned, though it may need a new aerial.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the room was clean and spacious and the location was excellent for access to local shops and riverside. Would highly recommend and would stay again if visiting the area.

I really enjoyed my stay here. A lovely old building with a nice feel. Staff were friendly and really good breakfast. Really close to town and bus to Harrogate. A few bars and restaurants nearby. Nice one

The hotel room was large and well furnished, though the bed was slightly uncomfortable and I think the mattress had seen better days. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was good and catered pretty well for our vegan diet, though the vegan milk options were somewhat limited. The hotel is ideally placed for access to Knaresborough town centre and had ample private parking.

Last minute booking for weekend away. Lovely, very large, honeymoon room with 4 poster bed, mini bar etc. Staff fantastic: pleasant, cheerful, very polite & couldn't do enough for you. Hotel centrally located within easy walking distance of shops, bars, restaurants, Knaresborough castle etc. Fantastic breakfast. Free parking. Would definitely recommend & stay there again!

Fantastic stay at The Orchard Club. Great communication from the hosts. Lots of parking available. Very close to the main market square so great situation. Beautiful property with lots of period furniture, pretty prints and William Morris wallpaper. Bedroom was huge with a king size bed. Thoughtful touches like snacks and wine in a fridge with an ‘honesty’ box. Breakfast was the best I’ve had in a long time with several options like full English, smoked salmon and scrambled egg, eggs Benedict and a large selection of fruit and nuts as extras if you were still hungry! Staff were very attentive and polite. A really enjoyable night. Thoroughly recommend!

From checking in the staff were friendly and very polite. The breakfast was excellent, cooked fresh and to perfection with plenty of toast and coffee on tap. There was plenry of choice as well as a continental option. The room was excellent and the honesty bar is a great touch and not expensive for a late night treat or glass of wine.

Very friendly, lovely large bedroom with comfortable bed. The breakfast was disappointing as the bacon and sausages were overcooked, obviously done at the same time as a large group of motor cyclists.

Our room was clean and spacious. The decor throughout Orchard House is beautiful and there is also a comfortable lounge area. The breakfast was delicious and offered plenty of choice. We have enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it.

The hotel was very nice but was a little dated in some areas. The keys to the rooms were large mortice types with a large wooden fobs which made them difficult to carry around. Mine broke when I sat down because it was in my back pocket. The receptionist said it was okay when I reported it and said that it had happened to someone else that day. The car park entrance/exit was very tight between 2 buildings and was almost impossible if you were entering from the left. Having made these points we still enjoyed our stay and the staff were all very friendly and polite. We would stay again.

Loved our recent stay at Newton House. Free private parking was available and we had no problems in getting a space. From the outside the building does need some attention , but the inside is clean and well maintained with decor and furniture in keeping with the style of the house . Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean with a fan , hairdryer and toiletries available . The large bed was extremely comfortable . There was also a wine chiller in the room , and the option to buy drinks and crisps and sweets . Free tea , coffee and biscuits were also in the room . .Breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked with plenty of choice . Fruit , cereals and yoghurt were also available .All staff from the minute we arrived until we left were friendly , approachable and helpful . The hotel has a good location with the main square and tourist information only a few minutes walk away . I’m not sure how long it would take to access the river . We got the bus into Harrogate ( bus stop 2 mins walk away ) then on the way back got off to explore Mother Shiptons Cave and the river. If I was visiting Knaresborough again. I would definitely stay at Newton House and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to friends and family .
