Route 66 Motel

Staff was great to help us park and get a room by our big rig . We had a truck and trailer not idea for their small parking lot. Very Clean rooms. Remodeled rooms. Friendly staff. Fun to look at some of thr old Route 66 antiques Only complaint is No ice machine or even a machine to get a cold water or drink. Also no snack machines. No coffee. You have to leave to get anything. When u get in late and are tired u dont want to have to do that .

Very reasonably priced. Helpful Staff person. Room was comfortable. Icemaker is broken. I was charged for a bottle of water even though I did not touch it or drink it. I am contesting the automatic charge.

Okay parking

Great price if you need a place to stay. Basically no AC for 110 degree weather is not a good time. Lots of bad actors looking for ways to exploit guests here is also a bad time.

Cramped parking and rude staff

Not to bad ! Good for the price. Some small holes in the shower and TV didnt work. Other than that . Worth the money.

Not many amenities, but the history, personality, and price made it worth it. I enjoy unique hotels like this one.

Motel was great. Some of the letters in motel sign aren't working. Photographing the sign at sunset was one of the draws for me. Hopefully the letters will be fixed.

First there isn’t any phones in the room to call for service. Second the office closes at 9pm so if you have an issue there is no one to tell. My neighbor decided to have his German Shepard in his room with him and the damn dog barked all night long

Nice atmosphere breathing Route 66 being located at that historic highway. Unfortunately our TV was not working but the staff gave us access to their private wifi network to ease the pain..:)

The floor was absolutely filthy. After a shower I walked back to the main room and my feet were black as coal.

Where do I start?! We were given the room everything looked good from the outside, nice and cute until you open the door. The bedding was clean the pillows were adequate. The mattress was average economy Hotel. However, they could stand to at least wipe all the grungy handprints off the switch covers and walls! Drip marks on the walls splatter marks on the ceiling, grout in the shower enclosure was obviously not cleaned Within months if not years! The shower head was old looked very corroded and it almost looks like someone used Flex a seal or electrical tape on it! The window in the bathroom had very visible mildew all around it. And please answer me why hotels just spackle and paint like they're drunk LOL a little TLC and wiping down the walls after they're treated correctly would make the place look so much better! The unit we were in had absolutely no Furnishings except for the bed, a table and two fixed kitchen type chairs. There was no nightstands at all. The vanity was one of those small ones like you would put in a washroom with literally no counter room on it whatsoever. Next to it was a small refrigerator which I must say had something disgusting in the freezer compartment you couldn't even identify what it was! And there was a microwave sitting on top of it that was not very clean. After taking a shower my wife looked at her feet after just walking around in the room getting some things together and she had to go wash her feet again they were literally black! Mop?

Roaches, filth, excessive wear and tear. It's a shame because of the history and nostalgia of the hotel is ruined.

Room was clean, bed was huge, comfortable, quiet & nice sleep after a day of driving. Bedroom floor was pretty dirty & there were some flies in the room I had to get rid of, but as long as I can sleep I'm happy

If you love stained sheets, a discusting shower curtain, poop stains in the toilet and getting black feet from the nasty sticky floor, this place is for you! It was so bad, we had to laugh or we'd cry. Check in lady was friendly. That was about it. Everything was dirty. And no hot water in the shower. It was barely lukewarm. The sink had hot water though but I'm too big to bathe in that... I'd never stay here again. My own fault for not listening to the reviews saying it was dirty.

Such a neat place! The parking lot is decorated with vintage cars and other items. My room was very spacious and comfortable with an awesome shower! Super comfortable bed. I discovered the floor was a little dirty after I showered and the bottoms of my feet were black. 😅 The area was a little sketchy, as were some of the other visitors, but I never felt unsafe. Could hear a loudspeaker maybe at a nearby school sporting event, but it was mostly easy to drown out with the TV and my travel fan.

Upon arrival I found the bedding in the room soiled and the heels and pillow cases had a number of female hair on it. Had to ask reception for a clean set and change it myself. The shower floor was dirty as well. Admittedly it is cheap accommodation but needs dramatic improvement to make it hygienic.

The shower was very small & water never got hot,lukewarm...VERY STRONG cleaner odor....I have allergies,gave me a headache...it was clean though & TV was huge....

It was a cute property with a cute theme. The room was newly remodeled so it was in pretty good condition, but the bed was super hard. We expected that since you get what you pay for. What bothered us the most was how dirty the floor was. You could see that it hadn’t been swept in a while so it must also not be mopped. We didn’t feel comfortable walking around without shoes the entire time. My socks were black when I did walk around in them. Definitely could use a better cleaning job.

Upgraded to a room with kitchenette, which was nice. Everything was in great shape. There were no kitchen utensils, however.

The property itself is what you would expect for the price you pay and the room was cleanish (a few rouge hairs were disconcerting). That being said, the noise was unbearable at times, the walls were paper thin so we could hear the entire conversation of the guests in the next room which was off putting when they talked until the early hours! The staff were friendly and kind and the location was perfect for what we wanted.

Nice motel. Historic, the front staff was very nice. It looks outdated outisde but inside but inside its renovated with amenities such as fridge and small kitchen

Fairly recently updated rooms. Simple, generally clean. Basic service as expected with the price. Allowed late check-in.

It was a good spot to stay at the room was just too small .

Staff who checked us in was very nice, and my son loved the old cars and Route 66 theme. Upon entering the room it looked very modern and updated, but I quickly noticed the floor was gritty with dirt. After finding a huge cricket I realized there was a large gap under the door letting dirt and bugs blow in. I removed a series of bugs and then plugged the gap with tissues. The hot and cold water were also swapped somehow, so the toilet was always hot which was weird. The beds were fresh and clean, but the mattresses were super hard. We also had two bath towels, but only one washcloth to use between us? The bathroom sink was hard to use for washing my face because the basin was only maybe 3 inches from front to back so I spilled, and since the floor was so dirty it literally made a muddy mess. It also drained extremely slowly. I should have spent a little more and stayed somewhere else, but if you aren’t too particular it might be worth it for the price.

It was very confortable, except for very weak wifi... But It was very good!

Nice motel on a noisy road,

Pretty good for a budget place. Walls are thin. When they remodle they should consider a staggered stud dividing wall. The property has a lot of classic cars that are cool to look at. There are a few convenience stores in walking distance

We went into the bathroom and there were bugs - little spiders everywhere. We went to the front desk and told them we wanted a refund as we were not staying. They refused to give us a refund. So we left and they could not care less - avoid at all costs. What a horrible way to run a business & serve the public. They should be ashamed.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Towels could have been softer.

We initially were charmed by the Route 66 theme. We planned to take pictures in the morning to add to our collection of places we\'ve been. It was clean, not dark, had all of the basic amenities. Nothing fancy, but a very good example of a local motel. "Next time we come here we should stay here every time," my partner said. That would have been our overriding view of the place and I had planned to write a glowing review. Unfortunately, when we checked in we asked if we could have a 12 PM check out. The woman at the desk said they could do 11:40. We joked about this and prepared to be ready to go at 11:40. But at a little after 11 a woman knocked on the door and said check out is 11. My partner was in the shower, and I was working on my computer. I explained that the woman at the desk had said we could have an 11:40 check out. The woman at the door said, no, check out 11 or pay extra. I said we were not ready to leave just then because we had been told we could check out at 11:40 and we\'d planned accordingly. The woman just kept repeating that check out was 11 or we had to pay more. We quickly vacated the room and packed up in the parking lot. By then we were so stressed and annoyed that we decided against taking happy pictures of the surroundings and stay here "every time" changed to "never again." It\'s a shame because we had been enjoying our stay and it put a damper on the entire day.

Rude owner/staff and Cockroach in the room!!!

Expedia reservation did not arrive and Expedia did not have an operator to take my phone call so it took over half an hour for me to get checked in. Manager had to come in to help. Expedia screwed up. Very basic room. The Silletti is clean. Problem with noise as it is on the main street soak city sirens an emergency services are heard throughout the night. The most basic room is 12 x 10’ with no chair. Staff is lovely. Grounds are clean and tidy. Room was very clean. Expedia customer service is crap

Check in was quick and easy. Lady on front desk polite and efficient. Room very comfortable and in very good order. Room has everything you need fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Very good value. Barstow has many motels but many are of poor quality. I would definately recommend Route 66 Motel and consider it to be one of the better ones on Main St. I would stay again.

As I am asking for direction to a security person He told you want to take pictures? I said no I have reservation! He told me it was not safe for a senior lady alone in a jaguar. So I thanked him and went on my way looking for other accommodations! Thank him profusely!

Charming old route 66 motel. Walked to the village centre for food but wished we'd taken the car, didn't feel safe in this area.

We pulled into the parking lot, and immediately left. I did not feel safe at all. The hotel looked very cool but the neighborhood was not good at all. I don’t care that I lost the money, my family and I slept soundly in another hotel far away.

We didn’t stay. The area was sketchy & we didn’t feel safe. We left.

Super cute little place with lots of Route 66 memorabilia and nostalgia. Great value for the money. It was the least expensive accommodation of our 5-day road trip, and also the only one to provide a king sized bed, fridge and microwave. It was cute and cozy the way many of the rooms, including ours, had their own little front porches. The area of town is a little sketchy and there were sirens racing by all night long, we counted 7 times. But that's outside the owners' control. If you're a Route 66 fan, you will love this cute, nostalgic property (just pack earplugs!)

Great roadside motel, especially if you have young kids. Beds were good and I slept well. Friendly staff and it is located near the train station.

The place is set up to be a kitchy beaten-up old Route 66 motel. It’s a (purposeful) dump and I love it! Look, if you want 4-Star, you can get that in Barstow. But why? If you’re driving the Southwest route, go for the fun. The price is right. There’s a Fosters Freeze a few blocks away plus local dining. Lovely lady running the place. The coffee maker could have been cleaner and the area isn’t pretty. But the motel is so much fun! Take photos. Gets some sleep.

Rooms were clean and very affordable for just passing through. Would stay again. Pizza place down the street was amazing. Seemed like the whole town was there when we picked up our food.

Staff was friendly. Room was clean. Had issues making coffee, as the pot was the right size for the machine.

I love classic cars and all the historical touches were really cute. Unfortunately I did not feel very safe and had a man knocking on my door at 9pm. My dog scared him away with him suddenly saying he must have the wrong room. I probably shouldn't have opened the door at all but... Not exactly their fault but every room felt pretty "on display" and I am always thinking about who is watching me check in and where I am going when I load in for the night. Maybe more could be done for safety of solo female travelers.

I love the “old time” look of the place outside. In the room however, we found the coffee pot was broken and still dirty, the front door didn’t have the extra a security bolt and light was coming in around the door and no soap, shampoo or wash clothes in the bathroom.
