Rooms we’re excellent and the staff are friendly,dining options are good but sometimes it can get busy on evenings and the bar staff could do with a little more help especially on Saturday nights.

we thought we'd found the perfect hotel but 2 irritations stand out. Lack of milk in bedroom despite asking for it. Can't guarantee to remember at breakfast to ask for it . Didn't realise there was a fridge..Also notes on working the nespresso thing would help 2. On our last night we requested a 7o'clock dinner booking as the previous night no one else had been in, so we assumed we'd been too late. However when we went in at 7 there was no one else dining and we were told everyone else was dining in the bar. We said we'd happily move but were rather bullied into staying in the dining room, and then we had to wait 1 HOUR before we got fed. Spoiled our stay.

A fantastic place for us to stay overnight. The junior suite was spacious enough for the 4 of us (2 adults, 2 kids) with a big bathroom. The breakfast was also very good. On our arrival, dinner in the bar was excellent and just what we needed. We would definitely come and stay again.

We liked the Superb location near Aysgarth Falls and the views of countryside around & nature walks. However the accommodation though high quality was overpriced and the bar & restaurant meals & service did not match the high prices.

A fantastic stay. The rooms were great, recently refurbished and had more than the standard mod-cons, shower was great! The hosts were great and the food in the bar / restaurant was unreal both my meat and my girlfriend's veggie options were really tasty - one of the best meals we've had in years!

Building work on going which we were not advised about Accommodation very nice but both Sunday lunch and breakfast were poor Lunch had clearly been stood for a long time Breakfast pancakes were pre prepared and fruit compote not fully defrosted

Cottage lovely could benefit from full length mirror.also mark on shower screen as I walked into it. Restaurant dinner service very poor. Waited an hour for starter which wasn’t that good when it arrived. Cancelled our main meal as now too late to wait again. Danny bar supervisor was trying very hard to apologise and keep other guests as happy as could be. Not a good atmosphere in restaurant. New chef new menu. Sorry not my problem. It was a last minute treat for us which wasn’t a treat in the end. Breakfast next morning better.

Previously we found this hotel excellent which is why we booked again. However this time our room was outside the hotel very small with creaky flooring bed and door so rather noisy.

the room was not warm enough and although mentioned to the staff, it was some time before the heating was sufficient. The tea maker was in a cupboard on the floor. This is the first time I have encountered this in a hotel, This was not easy to make the first cup of tea in the morning. Having mentioned these two points, the staff we met were very helpful and pleasant. The evening meal was delicious, although the breakfast on our second day was rather short on availability of fresh fruit. This is a critique - however I would stay again, but in the warmer summer months.

Fantastic large studio with excellent heating after a very wet day on the Moores. Beautiful views. Fabulous food, great staff and very reasonable price for what we had. We shall return!!

Fantastic hotel. Beautiful water falls - famous at that - Robin Hood! Did not like all the stairs, but the hotel was excellent all the same - very old building - understand the stairs.

The bedrooms are really nice especially following the refurbishment. I went for breakfast ordered eggs Benedict and left over 35 minutes later having no breakfast, couldn’t find anyone to ask what was happening and I wasn’t allow there was table of 5 who had waited circa 40 mins for breakfast by the time I left, sorry but this is not the way to run a hotel business, it wouldn’t have been so bad if we could find someone to talk to and ask, where’s our breakfast?

Lovely stay, gave us an upgrade which was fabulous when they found out it was our honeymoon. Location is great, went to see aysgarth Falls which was awesome. Really looked after us, highly recommend.

What a perfectly located, quaint and beautiful place to stay!! Everyone was top-notch and so friendly! Loved the falls and the church, and the drive to Castle Bolton!! A from these Americans!!

We liked the Superb location near Aysgarth Falls and the views of countryside around & nature walks. However the accommodation though high quality was overpriced and the bar & restaurant meals & service did not match the high prices.

Utterly beautiful area. Amazing rooms with incredible views. Enjoyed every minute of our stay. Would highly recommend this beautiful hotel.

Fantastic hotel. Beautiful water falls - famous at that - Robin Hood! Did not like all the stairs, but the hotel was excellent all the same - very old building - understand the stairs.

This is a nice property in a central location for exploring the upper dales. The breakfast was outstanding. Our room was large, modern and had great view!

Lovely stay, gave us an upgrade which was fabulous when they found out it was our honeymoon. Location is great, went to see aysgarth Falls which was awesome. Really looked after us, highly recommend.

Building work on going which we were not advised about Accommodation very nice but both Sunday lunch and breakfast were poor Lunch had clearly been stood for a long time Breakfast pancakes were pre prepared and fruit compote not fully defrosted

Cottage lovely could benefit from full length mirror.also mark on shower screen as I walked into it. Restaurant dinner service very poor. Waited an hour for starter which wasn’t that good when it arrived. Cancelled our main meal as now too late to wait again. Danny bar supervisor was trying very hard to apologise and keep other guests as happy as could be. Not a good atmosphere in restaurant. New chef new menu. Sorry not my problem. It was a last minute treat for us which wasn’t a treat in the end. Breakfast next morning better.

the room was not warm enough and although mentioned to the staff, it was some time before the heating was sufficient. The tea maker was in a cupboard on the floor. This is the first time I have encountered this in a hotel, This was not easy to make the first cup of tea in the morning. Having mentioned these two points, the staff we met were very helpful and pleasant. The evening meal was delicious, although the breakfast on our second day was rather short on availability of fresh fruit. This is a critique - however I would stay again, but in the warmer summer months.

The bedrooms are really nice especially following the refurbishment. I went for breakfast ordered eggs Benedict and left over 35 minutes later having no breakfast, couldn’t find anyone to ask what was happening and I wasn’t allow there was table of 5 who had waited circa 40 mins for breakfast by the time I left, sorry but this is not the way to run a hotel business, it wouldn’t have been so bad if we could find someone to talk to and ask, where’s our breakfast?

we thought we'd found the perfect hotel but 2 irritations stand out. Lack of milk in bedroom despite asking for it. Can't guarantee to remember at breakfast to ask for it . Didn't realise there was a fridge..Also notes on working the nespresso thing would help 2. On our last night we requested a 7o'clock dinner booking as the previous night no one else had been in, so we assumed we'd been too late. However when we went in at 7 there was no one else dining and we were told everyone else was dining in the bar. We said we'd happily move but were rather bullied into staying in the dining room, and then we had to wait 1 HOUR before we got fed. Spoiled our stay.

A fantastic stay. The rooms were great, recently refurbished and had more than the standard mod-cons, shower was great! The hosts were great and the food in the bar / restaurant was unreal both my meat and my girlfriend's veggie options were really tasty - one of the best meals we've had in years!

Although there was building work taking place in the grounds of the hotel there was no disruption to the service or cleanliness of the hotel. The staff were so helpful when I had an issue with my car and got insisted for me. Thus was the first solo holiday for my after the sad passing of my sister, so it was a big challenge for me to go it alone but the staff didn’t make me feel the odd one out amongst couples and groups, in fact the made me feel so welcome. The food is absolutely wonderful, even with the new menu change over mid week, the food was tasty and it was hot I don’t mean just hot enough that you could eat it straight away but hot and every mouth full was delicious. I can’t say enough about the hotel the staff and the restaurant it was absolutely brilliant. I do intend visiting again in the hear future A big thank you and well done to each and every member of the team working there x

Although an unexpected upgrade gave us more rooms which was a pleasant surprise the bedroom was not overly large. Wooden bed frame was larger than mattress which resulted in banged knees in the limited space. Three steps between living room and dining room and bedroom may not suit all. Loose tap in kitchen. Wall between adjoining cottage was thin enough to hear occupant's speech. Lovely warm bathroom. Staff friendly and excellent dining and service.
