Pacific View Inn

The hotel was within steps of the beach! They also had beach chairs, towels, and umbrellas available to use at no charge. The rooms are simple and clean and the staff were friendly.

We loved the location of this property. It was on the beach. Everything was walkable. There were so many great places to eat and drink. The hotel was clean spacious and renovated. They had a bonfire pit. They also had beach chairs, beach towels and sand toys to use. We reserved parking ahead of time and I think that’s the way to go otherwise you have to find street parking and that can be difficult during the day. We would stay here again!

View was great, staff was great, room was great. Parking was great but could use more reservable spots.

This little motel is in a great location on pacific beach. Everything else is bare bones and minimal. It’s perfect to be steps from the boardwalk/lots of restaurants and the beach. Bad- The rooms on their web site and hotels.com are old photos and thus we thought we were getting a little couch to sit but only uncomfy wicker chairs. Room is small. No mirror other than in bathroom/no full length mirror. No place to hang dresses or anything other that a short coat. Linens and towels were not super clean. Lots of stains on towels and the felt blankets were dirty. They say housekeeping every 3 days. We were there 4 days and nothing for housekeeping. When we asked for extra linens we were given the minimum amount like it was a bother. Never got a new bath mat. We were on our way out but they said we had to take the towels to our room ourselves. We tried to email them 3 times before our arrival and never heard back. The fire pit is a nice concept- but no cushions and we’re told it couldn’t be on when they aren’t there- they leave the office at 9pm- so not ideal. The bathroom barn door/ sliding door didn’t close and doesn’t provide proper privacy. All in all- it’s a cheap simple motel but perfect for beach enjoyment and access.

It was a great location. Nothing fancy, very very minimal and lacking amenities. Staff was very helpful and kind. Wouldn’t pay a great deal for the hotel but like I said, location was great.

Fabulous value for the location. Only downside is the description of parking was incorrect. There is NO option for third party bookings to use parking on site. Only option is street parking. Doable, but read signs carefully. Spaces open up after 8 PM. We found a spot two blocks away to leave the car for our two night stay.

Room was good, clean and bed comfortable. The hanging slider door for the bathroom kept drifting open which was annoying. Partial ocean view is limited but there. You could hear the surf from your bed which was nice. No ice machine and or water to refill my bottle. Only had for purchase water in plastic bottles. Parking is a challenge but eventually found a spot. You might want to spring for the $30 paid parking but that seems steep for what amounts to an on street parking space. Biggest issue: front desk was not helpful and exhibited very low level energy when answering basic questions including suggestions about where to park.

From the room I was in you are not able to see the beach, you have to walk out and to the front where the fire pit is. Check in was easy, parking is tough, but it worked out. The food nearby was excellent!

Amenities are very limited; no ice on the premises, no blow dryer, coffee maker in the room didn’t work and no available parking. No water in the room and it’s $3 per 20oz bottle. The positives: we used the fire pit table till they closed it at 10pm. The location is right on the boardwalk. It’s a very busy location with lots of restaurants and stores in walking distance

If I could give this ZERO STARS, i absolutely would. Worst place i have stayed EVER and our family does a lot of traveling. From the moment i attempted to check in i was trying to figure out how to cancel and receive ANY of my money back. The front desk staff were awful and rude, the picture were deceiving, the room was FILTHY (i had to clean the shower myself the first night of our stay, the walls has stuff dripping down, footprint smears on the wall, dirt, and other nastyness that i could only guess what it was). Extremely limited parking, they have 3 parking spaces that you can reserve for $40/ day, but be careful because they will overbook and not refund the money for your parking space. We booked a spot ahead of time, but they claimed we didn't even though there is proof we paid. The bed was like sleeping on cement and the fan in the bathroom leaked the entire time. The place smelled terribly like mold also. The ONLY plus to this establishment is it is in a good location, but literally that is it. Biggest waste of $1300 we've ever spent. I have several pics of the disgusting room as well but im unable to post any pics to this review. But they will be on the Google review for sure.

The room was extremely small could barely walk around the beds. I would never say in room 207 again. Large amounts of sand on the floor and in the bedding, I know it's by a beach but it could have been cleaner. We have stayed there off and on over the years and this was absolutely our worst experience. Could have done much better for $50 more elsewhere.

The floors were dirty to the point it got on your feet. THERE IS NO PARKING except for like 3 spots. The bathroom doors do not close all the way and had a 1-2 inch gap.

Quiet. Great view. Simple but clean accomodations

Toilet didn’t work, sand in the bed, floors were dirty, beds were uncomfortable. No parking included (which wasn’t advertised), and there were homeless folks roaming around the facility at night time.

Old smelly, roach infested. Found a roach on top of the sink where we had our toothbrushes-disgusting.

I was so disappointed. Upon arrival, it seemed like a diamond in the rough. However, once we entered our room 105. My partner and I were disgusted by the foul smell. We thought it was because we were near the water. Later than discovered the smell came from the bathroom. I think it was mildew. There is poor circulation and if you open the window. Good luck you will not sleep. The area is too busy until all hours of the night into early morning. Our keys became inactive 30 minutes before the office closed. If we had missed them we would have had to go to there sister property. There is also limited parking. If you get lucky, you'll find one close if not. Prepare to park several blocks away.

This property is not what it looks like in the pictures. The room is very small with low ceilings, you have to use an extra key card to turn on the lights and keep them on. It says partial ocean view and we had a view on the sidewalk so had to keep our blinds closed the entire time, since everyone walking by could see directly into our room. We were on the bottom floor and it was very loud. You could hear everyone going up and down the stairs as well as all their conversations. Our door wasn’t even level with the ground so we had to put a towel to block the light and make it feel like we had some sort of privacy. Who ever designed the shower was not ethical at all. It’s so long and the actual shower area is very small. My boyfriend is 6’1 and barely fit within the shower area. I could only stay the first night and booked a second hotel in the morning when I woke up. Technically booked our third hotel because this was supposed to be our second and final hotel of our long road trip. I asked for a partial refund as I paid out of pocket, and the hotel told me I had to go through Expedia, and Expedia is telling me they emailed the hotel. Hopefully they resolve this issue because I’ve never felt so uncomfortable that I couldn’t stay in a hotel I booked. Just know they make this place look way nicer then what it is. We got “catfished.” Also they say you can pay for parking and it appears the staff gave all the parking to their friends and themselves. No guests had parking.

Our room was #104, their emerald king room, and we would recommend NOT taking this room. The bathroom door didn’t close for privacy, the inside room stairs are outside our room and we could hear every footstep up and down the stairs especially at night. Plus the door to access those stairs would slam shut every single time! And the window facing the street was literally against the public sidewalk. Only one mirror in the bathroom, only a short rack to hang shirts from, not long enough for a dress or pants, basically no closet. The metal bed frame protrudes on the corners you walk past and all of us have bruises on our shins from it. But, what a fantastic location of the hotel! Just don’t expect a lot of comfort from this room. We Couldn’t get an upper balcony room, which hopefully is better laid out. House keeping is by request only. Luggage storage is simply leaving it in the lobby.

The property was right next to the beach and conveniently located near great restaurants. Down side is that the walls are a bit thin and you may hear things going on in the adjacent room.

The property is in a great location, you can walk to a lot of shops and restaurants. I got the ocean view which consist of one small little window where you can only see part of the ocean. The room is dark and creepy, looks nothing like the photos. The floors weren’t clean, very dirty and filthy. The hotel staff were extremely kind and accommodating. If you book through Expedia however you don’t get the option to park at the property, you have to be inconvenienced by looking for your own parking off the property which 9 times out of 10 was impossible. I would not stay here again. Lastly, I’d like to mention there were homeless people basically living in front of the property on the beach which was very unpleasant to look at.

The reason I am giving it an average rating is because the property virtually no working internet in our room. You would have to go outside to the common area to get wifi signal. But even with strong wifi signal, the internet did not work well at all. Also, we did not receive cell phone service in our room which made the situation worst. It was a very bad inconvenience due to needing access to wifi for work and school.

Pros: -Excellent location that is essentially right on the beach and close to lots of bars, restaurants, shops, etc. -Less expensive than many other options in PB Cons: -Very limited parking if you have a car -Small, poorly lit room. The layout was odd and specifically the bathroom just had a bad floor plan. The toilet was so close to the wall it was like sitting in the window seat on an airplane, smashed up against the wall. The shower enclosure was both not deep enough and too long to use the available space efficiently. Very odd. My room was on the ground floor and had one window facing directly out to the street, so if you want any privacy you have to keep the blinds drawn, so there is essentially no window to look out, which does not combine well with the poor lighting options available, so despite being so close to the ocean, I didn't get to look at it, at least from my room. -Very thin walls with an impressive ability to transmit every little noise my neighbors made, or anyone who walked by out in the hallway for that matter. There is no sound insulation. I'm a deep sleeper and even for me the noise of people shuffling about affected my ability to sleep. The verdict: -If you're looking for a cheap option in Pacific Beach and just need a place to sleep, this might be ok. I wouldn't recommend it if you're wanting to spend any time actually relaxing in your room though.

The room was nice. Bed was very uncomfortable and very squeaky. There was people above us stomping around the whole entire night which was really the down side to this stay. The walls are THIN. The being on the beach though was great so it was good for just the singular night we were there. There is only 4 parking spaces for the whole hotel which is a little odd, but luckily I did get one. I would stay here for a single night again, but request the top floor.

Horrible service and the worst staff I ever experienced.

Pacific View Inn is a GREAT place to stay. Location, location, location! Hello. Staff were all very friendly & helpful. Can't get a quicker cup of ☕️ anywhere else! As many towels as you need, no problem. Beach chairs provided! The fire pit area is a great place to end each night, to unwind & reflect on the day's awesomeness. I'll definitely be back here again! In fact, this was my 3rd time staying here! Thanks again Pacific View Inn!

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Lelina (not sure of spelling) was fabulous. The property is clean and well located. We will be back!! Our new spot in Pacific Beach

We arrived to our hotel at 2:50pm we noticed a lady at the customer counter but the door locked and it said out to lunch till 3pm So we went and sat on a bench close by. My dauggters and I really needed to use the restroom so as soon a 3pm hit we ran towards the door. It was still locked so I assumed maybe the other door was the one we needed to go through. Well as soon as I went in the lady looked at me as if I really disturbed her. She said uhhhhh HI .... kind of with a upset tone. She did say welcome or anyhing just starred at us. I asked her if we'd be able to check in early and she said only if your room is ready. She checked on the computer and said no its not ready. I said okay and asked if we can please use the restroom to which she relplied ; no we dont have any you would need to go use the public one available by the beach. There was many homless people camping by the restrooms. Me and my daugters went back to sit on the benches looking to see if we can cancel this room a looking into getting one with atleast parking and more friendly staff. 20 minutes pass and she seen us sitting and said your room is now ready. Once we went to get keys. I wouldn't stay here again. We didnt feel welcomed and when we left it felt awkward. When we were taling our bags down to the car the cleaning lady said YOU LEAVING?

Great. What I appreciated most was one of the ladies at the front offered her parking spot to me. Location is great.

View Pacific Beach Hotel. I arrived for a late check-in and was charged an extra fee to retrieve my key from a lockbox on the front door, which was never mentioned during booking. I was supposed to receive an email with my receipt and lockbox code, but I never got one. When I arrived, no one was present, even though I was told over the phone someone would be there to assist. I ended up having to call a completely different hotel just to get my lockbox code. After finally getting into the room, there were numerous issues: • No coffee, despite multiple calls requesting help • No parking, even though I paid extra for it – I had to park in the neighborhood • No Wi-Fi info provided • No cell service in the room • TV didn’t work at all When I called back several times for assistance, I was met with rudeness from the person at the other hotel, Derrick, who eventually said, “We can’t help you with anything else, just complain in the morning.” When I got upset over the poor treatment, he hung up on me. The next morning, I went to the hotel at 8 AM to return my keys and voice my frustration. The woman at the front desk (I didn’t get her name) told me I’d have to take up any refund issues with Hotels.com/Expedia, not with them. I explained it wasn’t even about the money – it was about how terribly I was treated. Everyone I encountered just seemed to be passing the buck instead of taking responsibility. This was not just a case of bad service – it was a complete lack of profess

The staff went above and beyond for us, from giving up their own parking space, to turing on the fire pit to enjoy a cozy evening! It really made our experience so much more enjoyable. Thank you for making our last minute beach trip one of the best!

The desk staff was unhelpful and not very kind at check in. There should be a loading space for unloading luggage into the room since there isn’t close parking. They didn’t refill our coffee when they cleaned the room. There was loud partying in the room next to us all night.

Overall not a bad option for a beach front location. The issue was the added fees for an early check-in, $40 to arrive 2 hours early, even if your room was ready, and confirmation on the date of arrival, not a day or two before. Limited reserved parking of $30/day, while other motels in the area only charge up to $15/day or are included for free.

Property was very clean, and as described, conveniently located next to a beautiful Pacific Beach walkway. Front desk staff was inadequately trained in hospitality and offered misinformation about parking options and room cleaning policies that made our stay less enjoyable.

It’s on the boardwalk in PB. Clean and modern. Staff was helpful, and it felt like I was stealing, as it’s right on the boardwalk, steps from the beach and the ocean. Steps. Literally.

Couldnt get any closer to the action. Excellent place to stay. I would recommend this to everyone. Please make sure though that you get parking pass!!! Not many places to park otherwise. Very busy area. Beach is just steps away!

We loved how close to the beach this hotel is! It’s the perfect spot if you want to be right by all the restaurants, bars, and ocean! It looks like the room had been recently renovated as well.

The location is great! Right on the beach walking trail with many coffee shops and restaurants close by. The hotel is nice, but not fancy. The rooms have everything you need to enjoy some ocean time.

The young lady that helped us was very nice. The location is prime. Like 30 feet to beach area. There are restaurants, pubs and bars walking distance so it’s extremely convenient. Unfortunately, if you have a vehicle they have extremely limited parking that can be reserved so if you don’t book it in advance you have to find parking wow where else. Also they do have air conditioning in room but it’s not as strong as we’d that is super minor considering how great everything else is

This is an interesting boutique hotel. I was pleasantly surprised how quiet it was during the evening considering this is in a very busy area of Pacific Beach. It was unusually cool and windy which we were underprepared for. Bedding in the room was a bit light, however the hotel staff was excellent and it was a bargain for the area. No breakfast on site - walk around the corner to Drift cafe. It was excellent!

Lovely Inn by the beach. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. It's very convenient as it is near a lot of restaurants, bars, bike rentals, etc... all within walking distance. It is in a busy area. Definitely call ahead about a parking permit to secure a spot, b/c there's only street parking otherwise and spots are limited in front. That's the only down side.
