Stayed 3 nights

Great stay for the price, with some caveats. The beds are firm and clean. Whether a firm bed is positive or negative depends on the customer, and on how you sleep. It was very comfortable and quiet for me. The room I stayed at had a microwave with an off-kilter clock. I attempted to follow instructions from the front desk to reset it, but without success. A trivial matter. A little less trivial are a few bugs that get in. The doors to outside are not quite an airtight seal, light leaks around them. The couple bugs I found on the floor kept to a corner adjacent to outside and along a wall's edge. It's not like the place is crawling with them. With a modest inn in the countryside just outside of town, a few bugs can be expected to be inevitable. The staff appear to keep them under control. If you are concerned, keep luggage sealed and anything loose (besides shoes) off the floor. The tub didn't come with a plug, but you can get one from the front desk. The laptop desk didn't have its own chair, I had to bring over the corner chair and lamp. After doing so, it was workable. There is a *small* breakfast bar with simple fare: waffles, fruit, pastries. There is a gas station and restaurant right across the street though if you're looking for more. A plus: there is an adjustable heater in the bathroom independent of the thermostat. If you have business at Douglas and need a simple, functional, affordable stay, First Interstate Inn is a great choice.

Mostly want to say it’s just an old property that hasn’t been upgraded. No fan in toilet/bathtub/shower area. Kind of low lighting in room. Very nice desk lady, though. Was expecting a little nicer based on the rating.
