Slightly older rooms but great space, lovely views and benefit of private hot springs. Meals were incredible and service was great. Used hotel shuttle too and from train, which was very convenient.

露天風呂付きの部屋に泊まりましたが、浴槽も割と大きく最高でした！有料の貸切風呂にも入るつもりでいましたが、お部屋のお風呂と大浴場で満足してしまい利用せずでした。 食事も美味しかったし駅からの送迎もあるし、またすぐにでも行きたい程お気に入りになりました！

This property could be polarizing for people. On the good side, the room was very nice, traditional Japanese-style with great in-room bath and excellent view of the mountains. The shared baths were also nice. The meals included were very comprehensive in traditional Japanese style with excellent service. Rooftop had great views. Others may find the property a bit dated. The carpet in the lobby is worn and the place feels a bit old. This is not a modern resort. The picture on Expedia probably overstates the elegance. Also, the location is a bit far and uphill from the Hakone train station. Hotel shuttles to the train stop at 11am and it was impossible for us to get a cab back to the station after a later check out. We had to walk 15 mins in the rain to get there. Overall we enjoyed our stay but this might not be for everyone.

We stayed for one night at Aura Tachibana, and our arrival from Osaka was unfortunately delayed by 3 hours due to a tsunami but we informed the hotel ahead of time and they were very accommodating. The kaiseki dinner was amazing, so much food and beautifully presented. It was served in the restaurant (not in the rooms) with a lovely view of the mountains. Very nice and comfy. We got the private onsen room and it was awesome. The terrace they provide is beautiful, you can even rent out the private terrace onsen per hour. In the small town there were dining options.

This is gorgeous hotel. The staff are so kind, courteous and attentive. My room was spacious, with comfortable bed, stunning mountain views, and of course the Japanese heated toilet seat which is a luxury! The food was delicious. I ate both breakfast and dinner in the hotel restaurant and every little dish was so fresh, interesting and served like beautiful art. The onsen baths are wonderful and relaxing and I enjoyed the sauna as well. Short 10 min walk to the little town center and train station. I liked being away from the shopping street. I felt so taken care of and would definitely stay here again.

This hotel booking included half board. We requested our special needs and we were extremely happy with the meal preparation and presentation. The public bath/onsen was good and so was the private onsen in the room. The transportation was timely and staff even helped us to load and unload our luggage. Overall very happy with stay and will recommend this hotel to the guests who want to experience upscale japanese hotel experience.

The staff are super friendly and there’s a shuttle that can transport you to the nearby Hakone Yumoto station. (Set schedule though). That’s where the positives end however as we did not find the private onsen all that great and the room itself, although large for Japanese standards, is dark and outdated. The rest of the hotel (aside from the hotel lobby) is outdated. Unfortunately the worst part of the entire experience was bed bugs. Wish we had a better experience.

⭐☆☆☆☆ Stay away — serious hygiene issue I stayed at Aura Tachibana recently and ended up with dozens of bed bug bites all over my arms and legs. The room looked fine at first, but by the next morning I was covered in itchy red marks. I had to move to another hotel and buy medication to treat the bites. I’ve reported this to management and hope they take immediate action to address it, but until there’s confirmation that the rooms have been properly treated, I strongly recommend avoiding this place. It was an awful experience and ruined part of my trip.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were amazing! My family and I felt like kings and queens. The property is charming, clean, private and well taken care of. We had two rooms one with the onsen and one traditional japanese room for our adult children. All four of us cant talk highly enough about our stay and experience here.

職員非常友善，冒着雨幫手拿行李及指示目的地。房間內燈光不足，且私人風呂很多蚊蟲，房間內亦有蚊，打充一隻. 第二晚又有，可能是員工清潔風呂時不慎引入，令整晚難以入睡，地處山上，沒有駕車的朋友要考慮一下，雖然酒店有車可接送到車站，但下雨就非常麻煩！附近5分鐘行走已有Family Mart , 非常方便！頂樓有可租用的私人風呂，景觀一流！

全体的に雰囲気は良かったですが、部屋の網戸が壊れていて窓が開けられず不便だった。 朝食の時、夕食のデザートの時にコーヒーのサービスは絶対に必要だと思います。 デザートはもう少しサッパリした物が良いです。くどくて食べられなかったです。残念

Property does not has policy for extra guess. We had unexpected guess to come. We willing to pay for the extra but they said the person handled had gone for the day. No one can speak English after 7pm. We saw cockroaches on serving cart after we ate & on the way out. Bugs also in the room & crawl on my daughter arms. We never saw any workers doing any cleaning when we’re there. I don’t think they even vacuum the room after guess leave. The food were good for photos but not freshly prepared. All food were cold & fermented. The only thing hot were miso soup. We’ll come back to the area but not to this hotel.

Extremely helpful staff. Beautiful, large room. We had a room with a private bath, with an amazing view of the mountains. The breakfast was luxurious, far more than I was expecting. The staff was fantastic. Very friendly and very helpful. I would love to come back.

Don't be fooled by other good reviews, the hotel is very dated and service was sub-par. We stayed for two nights in a luxury tower deluxe twin room with an open air bath (private onsen). For the price of this hotel, we expected alot more than we recieved. Our room was nice enough, however was musty, the shower head was broken and everything looked as though it needed to be renovated. The staff were unable to accommodate our meal change requests as my partner is pregnant, this was very disappointing. Even after having requested not having raw fish for my partner, it still came out with dinner and breakfast the next day. On the food, everything was presented nicely however presentation cannot suffice for bland food. We thought the dining experience would have been much more enjoyable. The staff didn't speak very good English, yes, I know we are in Japan and don't mean to sound like a Karen, but for the price of the hotel, a few staff members who speak sufficient English would be beneficial and would offer a better service to their guests. This hotel was almost too conformative and staff didn't not seem willing to accommodate our requests. We would not recommend this hotel, spend your hard earned money elsewhere. However to end on a positive note, the hotel is located only a 10-15 minute walk from Hakone-Yumoto station, so good location. Definitely book a taxi or shuttle bus to the accomodation if you have heavy luggage as there is a steep hike involved.

The carpet in the lobby is worn and the place feels a bit old. This is not a modern resort. The picture on Expedia probably overstates the elegance. Also, the location is a bit far and uphill from the Hakone train station. Hotel shuttles to the train stop at 11am and it was impossible for us to get a cab back to the station after a later check out. We had to walk 15 mins in the rain to get there. Overall we enjoyed our stay but this might not be for everyone.

Staff was amazingly attentive. Service was wonderful. But the unwalk-ability was a downer. They have a free shuttle from the station to the hotel but only between certain times. The room was big and nicely appointed. The in room onsen was amazing!!!!!!!!! But the bed was so uncomfortable!!!!!!!!!

Breakfast and dinner was excellent. Staff was really polite and helpful. On site onsen was a bonus. My only criticism would be the room was too hot as it was a central control system for the whole hotel. Note it is an up hill walk to the hotel

The Good: Amazing place, private tub was lovely, a little bit of a trek if you don't make the shuttle, but the vantage point is very nice I believe it is highest point in Hakone. The food was a great experience as well. The Bad: The bed creaked so much and matress was not good for me at all.

This is gorgeous hotel. The staff are so kind, courteous and attentive. My room was spacious, with comfortable bed, stunning mountain views, and of course the Japanese heated toilet seat which is a luxury! The food was delicious. I ate both breakfast and dinner in the hotel restaurant and every little dish was so fresh, interesting and served like beautiful art. The onsen baths are wonderful and relaxing and I enjoyed the sauna as well. Short 10 min walk to the little town center and train station. I liked being away from the shopping street. I felt so taken care of and would definitely stay here again.

Bei der Buchung haben wir uns als Vegetarier angemeldet. Trotzdem wurde uns ein Frühstück mit Fleisch und Fisch serviert. Wir haben das Personal des Hotels darauf hingewiesen, dass wir Vegetarier sind, und gefragt, ob wir für den nächsten Tag ein Frühstück ohne Fleisch und Fisch bekommen können. Das war angeblich nicht möglich. Wir haben darauf hingewiesen, dass man uns das Essen mit Fleisch und Fisch nicht servieren muss. Das wäre Verschwendung. Am nächsten Morgen haben wir ein Frühstück mit noch mehr Fleisch und Fisch erhalten. Unprofessionell.

Don't be fooled by other good reviews, the hotel is very dated and service was sub-par. We stayed for two nights in a luxury tower deluxe twin room with an open air bath (private onsen). For the price of this hotel, we expected alot more than we recieved. Our room was nice enough, however was musty, the shower head was broken and everything looked as though it needed to be renovated. The staff were unable to accommodate our meal change requests as my partner is pregnant, this was very disappointing. Even after having requested not having raw fish for my partner, it still came out with dinner and breakfast the next day. On the food, everything was presented nicely however presentation cannot suffice for bland food. We thought the dining experience would have been much more enjoyable. The staff didn't speak very good English, yes, I know we are in Japan and don't mean to sound like a Karen, but for the price of the hotel, a few staff members who speak sufficient English would be beneficial and would offer a better service to their guests. This hotel was almost too conformative and staff didn't not seem willing to accommodate our requests. We would not recommend this hotel, spend your hard earned money elsewhere. However to end on a positive note, the hotel is located only a 10-15 minute walk from Hakone-Yumoto station, so good location. Definitely book a taxi or shuttle bus to the accomodation if you have heavy luggage as there is a steep hike involved.

Aura Tachibana is a Japanese style Onsen accommodation with large Japanese style rooms facing the mountains. We were checked in by a gentleman called Bappa Mondal from our hometown in India (Kolkata) and he was incredible. He explained all the options, did his best to accommodate the dietary restrictions for my wife and gave valuable advice on local transportations. The room was large, quiet and elegant.

Das Hotel ist zauberhaft sowie die gesamte Umgebung. Es ist sehr traditionell und wohl eher auf Gäste aus dem Inland ausgerichtet. Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Wir hätten uns etwas mehr Flexibilität hinsichtlich der Essenszeiten gewünscht. Die Mahlzeiten wurden nur zu ganz bestimmten Zeiten serviert, was gar nicht unseren Vorstellungen entsprach, da wir unsere Zeit gerne selbst einteilen.

This hotel booking included half board. We requested our special needs and we were extremely happy with the meal preparation and presentation. The public bath/onsen was good and so was the private onsen in the room. The transportation was timely and staff even helped us to load and unload our luggage. Overall very happy with stay and will recommend this hotel to the guests who want to experience upscale japanese hotel experience.

Hotel propre, personnel très gentil. Repas et petit déjeuner japonais complet et bon pour ceux qui aiment manger japonais. Le seul bémol est qu’on aurait souhaité avoir plus d’informations en amont sur les transferts en bus lors de notre arrivée car nous sommes montés sous la pluie avec nos bagages et 2 enfants.

The open-air bath on the balcony was great. The meals were okay but not as good as we have had at upscale onsen hotels. The shuttle bus service was good, although the bus was not equipped to handle large baggage that foreign tourists usually have. There is not much to do in the immediate vicinity of the hotel so you need to have the shuttle take you to the area around the train station.

The location of the hotel was not ideal for walking from the train station. The staff was friendly, the included breakfast was awesome, but the stay didn’t include a dinner. The town closes early, so customers need to eat dinner by 4pm or they may not find a place to eat dinner.

Amazing hotel combined traditional with modernness. We had a large tatami room with regular beds and a Japanese futon bed. It was large and comfortable. Breakfast was Japanese style which we loved. Our daughter however, can not get past eating rice and fish for breakfast. The hotel is not conveniently located, not easily walkable from the train train station. The hotel offers a shuttle bus that takes you to and from train station but stops at 5 pm. You will have to take a taxi, if you return late from Hakone, which costs 600 yen. Otherwise, we loved the stay.

We had an amazing stay at Aura Tachibana - super friendly and extremely helpful staff. The food at the hotel was amazing, and the Onsen experience along with some of the most amazing views of beautiful Hakone mountain line - this is a must experience if you are planning to visit Hakone area!

For the price of this hotel, we expected alot more than we recieved. Our room was nice enough, however was musty, the shower head was broken and everything looked as though it needed to be renovated. The staff were unable to accommodate our meal change requests as my partner is pregnant, this was very disappointing. Even after having requested not having raw fish for my partner, it still came out with dinner and breakfast the next day. On the food, everything was presented nicely however presentation cannot suffice for bland food. We thought the dining experience would have been much more enjoyable. The staff didn't speak very good English, yes, I know we are in Japan and don't mean to sound like a Karen, but for the price of the hotel, a few staff members who speak sufficient English would be beneficial and would offer a better service to their guests. This hotel was almost too conformative and staff didn't not seem willing to accommodate our requests. We would not recommend this hotel, spend your hard earned money elsewhere. However to end on a positive note, the hotel is located only a 10-15 minute walk from Hakone-Yumoto station, so good location. Definitely book a taxi or shuttle bus to the accomodation if you have heavy luggage as there is a steep hike involved.

We stayed for one night at Aura Tachibana, and our arrival from Osaka was unfortunately delayed by 3 hours due to a tsunami but we informed the hotel ahead of time and they were very accommodating. The kaiseki dinner was amazing, so much food and beautifully presented. It was served in the restaurant (not in the rooms) with a lovely view of the mountains. This is gorgeous hotel. The staff are so kind, courteous and attentive. My room was spacious, with comfortable bed, stunning mountain views, and of course the Japanese heated toilet seat which is a luxury! The food was delicious. I ate both breakfast and dinner in the hotel restaurant and every little dish was so fresh, interesting and served like beautiful art. The onsen baths are wonderful and relaxing and I enjoyed the sauna as well. Short 10 min walk to the little town center and train station. I liked being away from the shopping street. I felt so taken care of and would definitely stay here again.

This hotel booking included half board. We requested our special needs and we were extremely happy with the meal preparation and presentation. The public bath/onsen was good and so was the private onsen in the room. The transportation was timely and staff even helped us to load and unload our luggage. Overall very happy with stay and will recommend this hotel to the guests who want to experience upscale japanese hotel experience.

We loved our stay at this ryokan in Hakone - it was our favourite stay during a rent Japan trip. This was our first time staying at a ryokan in Japan. We walked from the train station to the ryokan but you must walk about a steep hill with luggage, so yiu need to be fit. I would suggesting calling and tsking advantage of the free shuttle offered by the property. We used the shuttle to go back to the train station. We stayed two nights which was great. The service was amazing - everyone was so kind and professional. We had our breakfaat and dinner included which was wonderful. The meals were amazing! They did a great job accommodating dietary allergies in our group. The meals were a highlight of our trip. We loved trying all the different Japanese foods. Even the picky eaters in our group found enough to fill them up. We wore the traditional Japanese clothing found in our room to dinner, as did most of the other hotel guestd. We had a choice of dinner times and then enjoyed the onsen after dinner. There were 3 times to chose from for breakfast 7:30 am, 8 am or 8:30 am. We loved the choice. The bathrooms in the rooms are dated but we never used the bathrooms because we always used the hotel onsens. We had a room without a private onsen and did not feel like we were missing out on anything. There is rooftop onsens that can be booked but we found the temperature of these too hot. Overall, an amazing stay. I would definitely return again!

The rooms could use an upgrade. Old. Carpet in sitting area old. Bathrooms very old! Tubs and showers had built in dirt. Old black sink. Just didn’t feel clean. The food was not good! We opted out of last dinner and breakfast and were told no refund which was fine until I asked for just coffee instead of breakfast and was told it would be extra. So I said “fine, just put me down for my paid breakfast “. That threw them for a loop! Asked upon arrival if any food options near because dinner wasn’t for a few hours and we hadn’t eaten. The staff member told us there was a Family Mart we passed. Said it was a rural area. Like an idiot, I didn’t bother to google. Returning back from different direction the next day, we discovered there were restaurants and shops less than 10 minutes away by walk. Had dinner there! Personally wouldn’t recommend.
