The staff was friendly and helpful, our room was clean and comfortable. The woman at the front desk overheard my daughter ask me if we packed her swimming goggles (oops, we didn’t) and offered her a pair to borrow. The pool was clean and well maintained. Overall, the hotel felt very welcoming. We’d definitely stay there again.

The pool water was a little “foggy” looking and the floor in the pool area wasn’t clean. Other than that, our stay was great!

Well the pool was cloudy? It looked like swamp water. Same with the jacuzzi, it was gross looking. The sauna was pretty run down, the knob was broken so they must of turned it off and on with pliers?? Also there were cobwebs in the sauna and the rocks had no guard on them. The rooms beds were “flimsy” they felt like they would fall apart. The room fridge was wonky and you couldn’t put anything that may spill in it. The heater worked but the fan was wonky. Then there was breakfast so they gave us Tim’s cards instead. This was so not worth it.

No regular TV - only streaming services. Hot tub and pool close very early. Towels were threadbare. No front desk clerk at check in for 5 minutes. There is really nothing redeeming about this hotel.

Went for a getaway to relax and to get away from the wildfire smoke here in N.S. Advertized pool,sauna,hot tub....Told out of order after we were checked in and settled in. The pool,hot tub and sauna were why we decided to stay at the Claymore!...Then went to watch tv and could not get channels so hotspotted to phone and clerk came up beating on our door. Opened door and she barged in telling us to turn down tv...I wiĺl never in my life stay there again...There are hotels in the area that are over 100 dollars cheaper as well....Very upset and dissatisfied... Felt like we were criminals...Just horrible! Restaurant had good service but bathroom pooper was out of order and very,very dirty urinals...Do not stay here!!!!!!

The staff at the reception desk was very friendly. The bed linens were stained, I’m sure from over use. The bathroom had clean towels, however the corners by the tub was dirty as well as the fixtures on the sink.

Went to breakfast, was not full by any means and told a 45 minute wait I had not even looked at the menu. The rooms were dirty blood on the bedding torn beds and mould in the bathroom. Will not even be payed to stay there again.

Room seemed like it had not been cleaned. The bedding was full of black lint… floor needed sweeping, the bathroom had three large spiders that we had to kill. Bathroom quite dated and didn’t seem very clean. The front doors of the hotel needed a deep clean on the outside.

Comfortable bed. Room and bathroom were clean , although the towels were stained. Breakfast at cafe was exceptional. Television was all streaming and a real pain when you're tired from travelling.

This is the only hotel that I have ever stayed at that did not offer basic television service in your room. Nothing local pay for only apps. Not the way guests should be treated.

The Claymore is in a great location, close to STFX University, the local mall and a couple of restaurants. I had no issues with the staff at the Claymore. They were very friendly, and the room I had was clean. The hotel has obviously had some recent updates to the hallways, but visitors should know the rooms are very dated. The bathrooms in particular are long overdue for a refresh, requiring updated fixtures and new towels. I could accept this situation if it was offered at a discount, but the hotel is in the same price range as other properties in the region that are much newer/updated facilities.

The Claymore is in a great location, close to STFX University, the local mall and a couple of restaurants. I had no issues with the staff at the Claymore. Room was probably the noisiest room ever in 50 years of international travel. An ice machine, a vending machine and a stairway access door were literally right outside our door. The ice machine was not enclosed and was located right in the hallway. The ice machine in particular was just ridiculously loud, humming all night with loud bangs every time it was used which was frequently. Combined with a loose fitting door with a large gap at the bottom (that I attempted to fill with a bath mat) created a very lousy sleeping experience. Attached restaurant next door was quite good but $15 “free breakfast” voucher was pretty skimpy and didn’t cover the full cost of the least expensive hot breakfast. Not a good experience to say the least!

The pool was very nice. Beds were very comfortable. This is the second time we’ve stayed here. I wish they would include kids in the breakfast vouchers as the additional costs add up quickly while travelling.

Average hotel. A bit dated, but had everything you would need in the room. Front staff was friendly, $15 voucher for pick-from-menu breakfast at attached restaurant, 4 minute drive to downtown. I have no complaints.

We had great stay , we were up for business and the location was efficient . The only concern is there is no front desk staff after 9 or 10 pm .. should a guests room key not work to get into the building after hours ( for any odd reason ) what would the guest do ?

Nice and quiet. Breakfast not included, but a restaurant is attached. GREAT breakfast! One thing though - THERE IS NO ONE ON DUTY AT NIGHT to check you in. We arrived at 11 PM ( I believe they finish at 10 PM)and had to call the clerk to drive back and get us a key to the room. We were not informed about that through Expedia...so were surprised when we were locked out!! Your room key will allow you to get into the hotel after hours. Otherwise.....all good!!

We had booked this hotel to split the road between Moncton and Ingonish. Travelling with a 10 month old baby that needed to be fed when we got there. I figured checking in would be easy but all my drivers liscence data, address, phone number was diarised and the process took forever with no words being exchanged… when this process was finally over and after I signer and ignitial a bunch of stuff I asked for a crib for the baby it was like they never heard of this before. The guy told me this is something I should’ve asked for before but would look into it. He did so and tried calling our room while we were gone to eat supper. The building is old, smells weird and the elevator is scary but the room was ok, bottle of water included. It was calm and we slept well. On the drive back we decided not to stay there again and booked something in Truro instead.

Hotel is a bit dated, but rooms are clean. Soap dispensers at sink and in shower - so if you like a bar of soap, bring your own. Check in was slow, so bring your patience. Restaurant and free breakfast were nice.

Rooms were fine as expected. Very disappointed that the hotel refused to accommodate our noontime checkout request both at check in and morning of check out. It would have made a huge difference to our group. We also had a traveller in our group with a food allergy who couldn’t eat in the restaurant to be able to use the breakfast vouchers provided.

The property was in a great location close to some shopping and dining. It was a 15 minute walk to main street. The staff were friendly and helpful. Responded quickly when I let them know the tub did not drain properly. The $15 credit for the onsite restraurant was nice. The restaurant, however, was not the greatest.

The hotel is tucked away in a quiet spot in a busy area. Lots of parking. The in house bakery and cafe are wonderful! The staff is the friendly. The hotel is clean and cozy. Lots of shopping with some dining options close. Not far from University. Woykd definitely stay again.

Convenient location with lots of dining and shopping options nearby. Free to use 10Kw EV charger on back of building, just inform desk staff and they activate it. $15 Coupons for breakfast at attached cafe made for a great experience! Although our room was dated, it was clean and beds were very comfortable. We would definitely stay again!

Dated property, yet, exceptionally clean bathrooms and rooms with "modernish" updates like( panel floors vs carpet). Heated pool was refreshing, hot tub was murky, sauna dry and hot as expected. AC in rooms, plus ability to login to your own Prime or Netflix acct on TV. Walking distance to Sobeys, Dollarama and NSLC. Food vouchers for Justamere Cafe offering an exceptional breakfast. Overall, a terrific stay.

The website advertised “BREAKFAST INCLUDED”. We are familiar with Justamere Cafe, and this was the reason for selecting your hotel. After booking we did not receive any notice that the cafe would be closed, and the breakfast offered was TIM HORTON’S GIFT CARDS! If we wanted a Tim Horton breakfast we could have booked anywhere, but we were offered a neat little bait and switch instead. Really not cool. And sorry doesn’t really mean anything when you’re not providing what your website had promised.

Restaurant was not open till 8 am Sunday and we had to leave by then, Restaurant was closed Monday. Very inconvenient. TV is streaming only so you need subscriptions or the desk clerk has to come to your room to set it up. Not user friendly for seniors,

We arrived early and were thankful that we were able to check in before 4pm since we had a long drive. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is older but I wouldn’t say run down. The elevator by the lobby was scary. It’s small and makes noises that tells it age. The pull out sofa was uncomfortable and the springs could be felt all night. There were two pillows on the queen bed and were small. Didn’t make for a comfortable sleep. There was no “do not disturb” hanger for the door so I assumed that housekeeping doesn’t come in unless requested. I assumed wrong. Was surprised to find the beds made when we got back to the room. The breakfast voucher for the restaurant attached were for the adults only and our son didn’t get one because he stayed “free”. He has never not been allowed breakfast for other hotels we have stayed at so this took us by surprise. The options for the restaurant were limited but not terrible. Although if we didn’t have the vouchers we probably never would have chosen to eat there. Overall, if we are back in the area we would consider staying here again.

The place was great. Check in was quick. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The $15 voucher per person for breakfast in the restaurant pretty much covered a full breakfast for each of us. Definitely will stay again if passing through.

The pool was very nice. Beds were very comfortable. This is the second time we’ve stayed here. I wish they would include kids in the breakfast vouchers as the additional costs add up quickly while travelling.

Comfortable bed. Room and bathroom were clean , although the towels were stained. Breakfast at cafe was exceptional. Television was all streaming and a real pain when you're tired from travelling.

So many issues with this hotels & Staff. I Strongly, strongly NOT recommend this hotel to anyone, especially for people with kids. this hotel is total rip off. for example they said BF included then they said only for paying adults (not for children), then they provide $15 boucher for the restaurant attached to the hotel where the BF starting from $25. this is one of the example there is more like this.......

The room was clean, except they didn’t clean the coffee maker. There were still a pod in there from last guest. If you’re planning on staying out after 10 PM, be careful. There’s no one at the front desk after 10 PM. So the front door is locked, and if you’re like me, my key card stopped working and I was locked out of the hotel. Had to call the emergency line then they had to call someone then they called me back then they left me go again and called someone else and then they called me back and said they were sending someone to let me in. Once he got there, he said he didn’t want to turn on the computer so he was just going to leave me in my room and give me a master key. The master key didn’t work. And he didn’t have another key to give me. He did let me in the room, but didn’t give me a key so I couldn’t leave my room after midnight even if I wanted to because I would’ve been locked out again. I arrived at the hotel at 12 AM and didn’t get into my room till 12:50 AM. Yes they did apologize but I don’t agree with not having someone at the desk in case of problems like this. So if you’re going out after 10 PM, make sure that card works on the front door and your room or you may be in the same situation it was not a great feeling being locked out of the hotel as a woman travelling alone….. wasn’t a great experience.
