We had a wonderful harbour view room. The bed and the room were very comfortable. The included full Scottish breakfast each morning was great. There is a pub on the main level of the inn that serves pub food as well. There is also a restaurant next to the pub. What a great visit. We will be back.

Located right on the harbour, and with a harbour view room was special. The pub itself is very busy, so book dinner if you wish to dine there. Dinner food was great and also the breakfast. There was some Pub noise outside on a Sat night, but not too late. Parking in free council carpark, or street if lucky was easy. Walk to Donnottar Castle out and back from village was excellent. 7 km return. You can also drive to Castle parking lot. Stonehaven was a lovely place to stay.

Nice place to stay in the old harbour. Nice room that were clean and had a nice size. Ordered a harbour view room, and it was not. But ok anyway. Nice pub and resturant downstairs and also good breakfast. Free parking right outside.

Great location. The breakfast was very good. Rooms are small and dated. Parking is out front if it’s open. If it’s not open, park in the harbor parking until after 4pm, the spots out front open up from the day trippers. Walking distance to Dunnator Castle. Restaurant downstairs was good.

Lovely property right on the harbor. They have a restaurant on site so we booked for dinner, and breakfast was included. I am glad we stopped overnight in this cute little town, and we loved how walkable the village was. Staff was friendly, accommodating, and the place was as described. No regrets here!

This area is gorgeous! The staff was so very friendly and the food was great! The room was clean and comfortable and more than adequate. The one drawback for some may be that there is no lift. Lugging suitcases up 3 flights was a workout but it was delightful!!! Thank you!!

This place is awesome! A great view, a wonderful pub downstairs, clean warm room. Good bed and bedding. The history!.... It is a bit on the smaller side and you have to climb stairs to get to your room. You enter from a locked back door to am internal staircase-felt very secure. Excellent food.

We had a pleasant one night stay and found the staff very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean but decor and furniture a little tired. Food was great - especially the breakfast which was included in the price. Would definitely stay again.

Stonehaven is a picturesque village and The Ship Inn is located in the heart of the harbour. The people were friendly and check-in easy. We also enjoyed the cleanliness and care.

Check in was a breeze! Very friendly and efficient staff. Room was clean and comfortable and the pub/ restaurant had great service and amazing food. The included breakfast had a lot of choices and was delicious!

Beautiful location on a small bay. Free parking on the street in front of the Inn. Great restaurant. The trail up the hill ( steep) to the Dunnottar Castle is 3 miles round trip but absolutely worth it if one is able. The room was small but immaculate, lots of hot water, good WiFi and a very reasonable price at the time of this review. I did not see if there was a lift, one flight of steep stairs to our room. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed our stay. Room was clean and comfortable. Restaurant at the hotel was good.Breakfast was included and was sit down instead of buffet. Hotel was right on the harbor so nice for an after dinner walk. Dunnottar Castle right up the street was fabulous to visit

Great place to stay, right on the harbour with lovely views and nice walks along the sea front. A very clean hotel with friendly staff, a good dinner menu and very filling breakfast. Would definitely stay there again if I'm in the area.

I just loved this place. It’s right on the harbor so the views are amazing. The rooms are on the smaller side but they are extremely clean (we saw one of the housekeepers on her hands and knees scrubbing the shower) and comfortable. Amenities are a little dated but it didn’t affect our stay. Definitely make reservations for the restaurant. I had cullen skink there for the first time and it was so good. I dream about it!

A really cozy and comfortable room with an incredible view, in an amazing location. Walking over the headlands to Dunnottar Castle was an incredible experience. The view from our room was beautiful, this is such a magical location. Breakfast was delicious, and staff were helpful and very personable. It was a highlight of our three week tour of Scotland.

Lovely location overlooking the harbour. Very noisy room right above the bar with a lot of noise until midnight. I would stay in Stonehaven again but I wouldn't stay here which is a shame.

Great location at the harbour. We walked back to the Inn after seeing Dunnotar castle, and had a drink sitting outside. Staff let us store our luggage in advance so we could go out walking, and got us a table for dinner (very popular place). Quieted down later so no problems sleeping. Nice breakfast and we walked around the harbour and town after breakfast.

Good location. Checkin was a shambles as room wasnt ready when we were told. Had to hang about with our suitcase for an hour. Room was basic and really small and overlooked the bins. Bed was really uncomfortable. Breakfast choices were good but food wasnt hot when it arrived. Even the toast was cold. Overall it was a disappointing stay

We really enjoyed our stay at Ship Inn. Small town experience. Food was really good and the staff were super friendly. The room was comfy. Felt like I was at my favourite Aunties house! Shoutout to Abby Chivon Zane Fifi and Fiona. Heather/Linda from Canada

We were only in Stonehaven for one night. However, the Ship Inn was a great choice. We (4 of us) had dinner there and it was excellent! The waiting-staff was very friendly and helpful. We had included breakfast there the next morning as well and we were glad we did with made-to-order items as well as some buffet-choices. The rooms were comfortable and the view of the harbor was wonderful.

Beautiful location on a small bay. Free parking on the street in front of the Inn. Great restaurant. The trail up the hill ( steep) to the Dunnottar Castle is 3 miles round trip but absolutely worth it if one is able. The room was small but immaculate, lots of hot water, good WiFi and a very reasonable price at the time of this review. I did not see if there was a lift, one flight of steep stairs to our room. Highly recommended.

A really cozy and comfortable room with an incredible view, in an amazing location. Walking over the headlands to Dunnottar Castle was an incredible experience. The view from our room was beautiful, this is such a magical location. Breakfast was delicious, and staff were helpful and very personable. It was a highlight of our three week tour of Scotland.

Enjoyed our stay. Room was clean and comfortable. Restaurant at the hotel was good.Breakfast was included and was sit down instead of buffet. Hotel was right on the harbor so nice for an after dinner walk. Dunnottar Castle right up the street was fabulous to visit

We had a wonderful harbour view room. The bed and the room were very comfortable. The included full Scottish breakfast each morning was great. There is a pub on the main level of the inn that serves pub food as well. There is also a restaurant next to the pub. What a great visit. We will be back.

The Ship Inn is a gem! Set on a lovely beach, it is a charming place! The rooms are immaculately clean and beautiful. The mattress was so comfortable for a good night’s sleep. Walking around Stonehaven, we enjoyed the beach, the walk to the castle, and the paths in Donnotter Woods. The restaurant was great, and the included morning breakfast was very filling. All the staff were helpful, friendly, and professional. We highly recommend The Ship Inn.

Located right on the harbour, and with a harbour view room was special. The pub itself is very busy, so book dinner if you wish to dine there. Dinner food was great and also the breakfast. There was some Pub noise outside on a Sat night, but not too late. Parking in free council carpark, or street if lucky was easy. Walk to Donnottar Castle out and back from village was excellent. 7 km return. You can also drive to Castle parking lot. Stonehaven was a lovely place to stay.
