I loved everything about the property. If I could have changed something, I would have offered fresh coffee in the lodge sitting area.

It had complimentary parking and it is just a short distance from the square in town. Less than 5-minute walk. We could not have asked for anything better. We highly recommend it.

Really like the property. No elevator might be a little rough with alot of luggage. One minute walk to the square. Gentleman at the office was very nice. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful property, the rooms were very clean and communication with owners was awesome. It has minor issues being an old building which didn't affect my stay, such as some noisy floors under the carpet, and the fact that it does not have an elevator. But we loved the stay, this hotel makes you feel part of the town history. My oldest kids found it great to stay here. We loved Dahlonega and will definutely visit again.

Please have someone available at the front desk in the morning starting about 6am for early departures. A hot cup of coffee and a light pastry (other the than the lousy small coffee maker in the room) would have made the overnight stay perfect. Will return in the future.

No hassle on checking in, easy parking and walkable on most of the gift shops, restaurant, etc

I really like how convenient it was to downtown shops and restaurants. We could walk everywhere easily. Room was clean and the site was quiet. Will go back . Just need a balcony.

The Smith House was the perfect accommodation for exploring downtown Dahlonega. Such a convenient location with easy parking, quick check-in process and the ability to walk easily. The accommodations were aesthetic, clean, and exactly as expected. Loved our short, but lovely stay!

The property is an older property and needs deep cleaning however the beds were extremely comfortable

Carpet was old and had a smell ... Charming place but needs a little face lift.

The room had an old and musky smell to it. The carpet was so old!! The air conditioner unit was old and put out an old smell. Bathroom was nice and updated. The personnel was friendly and helpful.

Very nice property in the heart of Dahlonega. This is a very convenient location. If you are looking to see all that Dahlonega has to offer. The rooms were very clean and modern and the staff was exceptional. We will definitely be returning.

We had the noon meal and it was delicious! The property was spotlessly clean. Our room was very nice, cozy and bed was comfortable.

Very historic but no dinners except on Fri&Sat Didn’t realize the change and carpet needs to come out and have laminate hardwood. It smelled and was dirty

The property was nice overall and check in was very quick. The walls are very thin though and we could hear our next door neighbors speaking in a general conversation. They had a young child that woke up early and they woke us up.

Liked how close itvwas to the square. Did not like how tiny our room was. Also, the heater in the room was displaying electrical arching and had a burning smell off and on. Did not sleep well because we were afraid it might catch on fire

The ceilings must be quite thin. For most of the night, I was disturbed by the guests above me.

Room very spacious everything was great

Our room in carriage house was 61 degrees. We could not get thermstat to heat it up. We had to get blanket. Very cold to much air in your face

The room was dated. We visited about 10 years ago and coincidentally got the same room with the same issues. Walk in shower leak all over the floor. Air conditioning was loud. View was of a parking garage of the local college and the roof of another building with all conditioning units on top.

There was no microwave, refrigerator or hangers in the closet. Bathroom was minuscule. Bed was long past it's replacement date. There was one chair in a room for two people, and no reading light. The room was extremely overpriced at $227 a night for what it offered.

The stay was average, but could have been great. We chose a Premier King Room, as opposed to a Comfort King Room. Both indicated the rooms had a "City View." Although the price was the same, it was our assumption that "Premier" was descriptive of something above the rooms noted as "Comfort," especially since the rooms are listed in ascending order with "Premier" being after "Comfort." Additionally, having stayed at the Smith House previously, since it was noted that the room had a "city view" we expected it to be a room where the window(s) faced the city (which we knew had a balcony). However, neither of our assumptions proved to be accurate. Our "Premier" room was on the "ground" floor of the lodge building, i.e. basement, with our "city view" being that of a parking deck (opposite the city) and with no balcony. However, the room was clean (for which we are appreciative), but it was nothing more than an ordinary hotel room with nothing to set it apart. Wi-Fi was very slow. The smart TV had all of the apps one would need to watch their favorite movies via streaming apps. However, any streaming media was constantly stopping to buffer, or catch-up, due to the low bandwidth. It took 90 minutes to watch a 60 minute program due to the constant "lag." Due to it's cleanliness, we would stay again but would call the property to clarify the location of the room - neither Hotels.com or the property's website provides adequate room descriptions or pictures.

The mattresses were not very comfortable

We stayed in the bottom floor of the lodge. It was nice but sound transmitted pretty bad from both the room next door and the room above.

We had a wonderful stay at the Smith House. Our room was spacious, very clean, and the decor was beautiful! The bathroom was updated and I loved the large shower! The inn itself has nice character and the staff was very pleasant. I love how close it is to the square; a very short walk to great dining and shopping. I look forward to visiting again.

Front desk people not very friendly. Would not refund for a day early check out even with advance notice. Paid in full at arrival. Didn’t try restaurant because other guests said they were there for breakfast and never got biscuits. 30+ minutes and never had biscuits. Convenience to the square was a positive

First night we are there, we check in, carry our suitcases up 3 flights of stairs, only to get a phone call from the front desk and hour later asking if we left the shower curtain out of the shower because they had water leaking in their office. And could I get up & go check if there was standing water in the bathroom. The room was clean. We got locked out of our room due to a faulty locking mechanism. We had no water on our last night stay and we were told we could move to a different room but they had issues with those rooms as well. I tried to get a hold of the Manager several times and no answer. Would never stay here again. This place sucks.

Great location. Very comfy room felt like a home.

Visited Dahlonega for the Christmas lights. The Smith House was less than a block from the square where the festivities started. The Smith House was a charming hotel with recently remodeled rooms. Our room was quiet and very clean and comfortable. The beds were fantastic. The staff was wonderful.

Great location, walking distance to downtown, room was clean and well maintained, decor was great.

This is such a nice quaint property . however for those wanting the breakfast before heading out for day adventures you have to wait until 8 am. Also we were dissapointed that the restaurant was not open for night meals

Really enjoyed our stay in Dahlonega. So much to do and see. Just wish we could have had breakfast in the restaurant (only offered Sat-Sun) and never had a chance to eat in the Smith restaurant (only open for lunch Wednesday and Thursday) and we were outside of town during the days. Maybe next time

The Smith House is well known for their restaurant, but seem to open and close it on a whim. It turned out to be closed when we were there. Room 3, where we stayed, had an AC that made a high pitched whine when it turned on, making it difficult to sleep at night. The continental breakfast turned out to be a fruit cup so we went out to breakfast No plans to return any time soon, will find a different property.

We very much enjoyed our 1 day stay. Will definitely stay here again! The staff was wonderful. Super friendly and welcoming. The meal we had in the restsurant was delicious...best fried chicken ever!!!

Just a quick weekend trip. Loved The Smith House. Close to town square. The room was very clean and comfortable. Beds were great. The dinner was amazing, more than we could eat. Would stay there again.

We have heard about The Smith House for years and decided to try it out for ourselves. We were NOT disappointed! The staff was delightful, the bed was very comfortable, and the room was clean and well appointed. Dinner was amazing! We will be going back in the near future.

We had heard great things about the restaurant so that’s why we stayed there. The restaurant was closed during our stay. The lady at the front desk as we left was very sweet

Excellent stay, property is updated The only thing that was really poor is the breakfast.

Our room was clean and cozy. We loved the front porch. Being within walking distance to restaurants was great. We dined at The Smith House restaurant our last night during our stay. The food was excellent! The staff are very friendly. We will stay there again in the future.
