Motel 8 Rock Springs

Clean room, very affordable price. We were traveling with our dog, anf this facility has a nice, fenced-in dog area. Lots of restaurants within walking area.

They had boiler problems, so they had space heaters in the room. It worked out fine. The vending machines were poorly stocked, and the ice maker was oit of order. The staff was real friendly.

The ice machine wasn't working but got ice at the front desk.

I really appreciated the fact that there was a fenced area for dogs.

Front desk staff was amazing, welcoming, and informative. Easy check in. Zero problems. In a well lit area, 2 levels easy access to parking.

Lots of restaurant choices within walking or short driving distance. I love the fenced in area to walk your dogs! Friendly staff, comfortable beds, great price. This is my third stay and i have no complaints.

The room itself was clean just a little rundown since the door would not close completely and needed to be painted. Staff were very nice. No dryer in the room and I had to walk to the desk with wet hair to get it. Good things—there was a fenced area for the dog to potty. But it hadn’t been cleaned and needed repairs.

Overall, the stay was good. The room was roomy and overall comfortable. My wife wished the floor was vacuumed better. Water pressure was good. Their was no ice machine available, but the office provided me with a little. One thing that was interesting is that they have a couple of nice grills and a patio get together spot next to tge dog park.

This is an older property so don't expect the amenities like breakfast. There was a coffee pot in the room. That being said the room was clean....but could use an upgrade. The ice machine was out-of-order with a sign to get ice from the office. They gave us about 8 cubes and said that's all they had. I thought they should have gone across the street to Walmart and got a few bags so it was available to their guests. This place is very inexpensive.....so if you are looking for a one-night, budget stay....this might work for you. Staff was very nice.

It was convenient to stop here for the night being right off the interstate, it was clean but needs some overall improvements . No ice for drinks

I do not understand the 8.4 rating for this motel. The person who checked me in was not a talker, not even for the usual informations. Just a stern warning about the air conditioning. Then I got to my room and was astonished. Stians on the carpet, stains on the chairs, stains on the countertop with the sink. When I opened the fridge, two packets from a previous occupant. Later I discovered a used towel hanging in the bathroom.

The beds were made nicely, but the bathroom had never been cleaned from last person. It only seems new towels were put in. I had some Lysol wipes in my vehicle and proceeded to clean the bathroom before I could use it. Pubic Hairs all over floor, urine dried on toilet, tub never scrubbed-ring around it. Sorry to be graphic but this is how bad it was. Carpet was sticky. I informed the person on duty who took down the information.

The room smelt like urin. When I first walked to the room it appeared that there was drug transaction taking place in one of the rooms. It was very dirty and and very sketchy. And that was in the middle of the day. I couldn’t stay, I ended up going to another hotel.

Room was not cleaned, no toilet paper, the entire room reecked of urine, toilet full of dried urine under seat, dried poop on the floor, air conditioner did not really work, refrigerator did not work, and if you were not careful you'd burn the hey out of yourself with the water, had to shove paper in-between the vents to stay open, towels reecked of dog, yes this was a pet friendly room but there's no excuse for the room to be in such horrible condition. Oh yes the entry door unsafe struggled to make sure it would locked, so we put the chair in front of the door. Staff was very friendly, brought me bleach and air freshener so that I could clean the room. I should of been reimbursed for the horrible condition and having to clean. When I asked if housekeeping could come and give a good cleaning the next day (because it was 11pm when we arrived) I was told yes. Well come next morning, I was told that because of the 4th there was no housekeeping. So again I'm cleaning. Oh let's not forget the lop sided mattress. But the positiveness of the stay NO bed bugs 😖😖😖

Entry door unable to close fully, still latched but safety bolt broken. Torn carpet, moldy shower.

The hotel is nothing fancy. It is older and dated but in decent shape and was clean and comfortable.

Friendly staff. We were just looking for a reasonably clean, safe place to sleep for the night. This motel filled the bill.

Room was clean staff was very helpful. Outside was a romper room people hanging out talking loud and driving around being loud, after a long drive people want to rest not hear people parting all night.

The room door opens to the outside, and there was a 1” gap, letting in cold air and heaven knows what else. Very dated decor. Needs work.

I tried two rooms. AC did not work in either It was 66 degrees outside and the room was over 100 degrees. It never cooled down. The review score on Expedia was over a 7. On Google it's a 4.

Clean room and great bathroom supplies. The internet speed was also great. The only thing that can be improved are the ACs. They cannot cool down the room effectively.

They had a really nice big vizio 4k TV that looked excellent with my laptop connected. Better than just about any other hotel rooms regardless of price. The place was quiet and clean. Food options in the parking lot.. Staff was helpful and nice. Coin Op Laundry on site, not all were working but enough that I didn't have to wait. Good coffee in room although the coffee maker was kind of dirty. I travel with an Aeropress so I just put the coffee in there. They also had tea packets in the room which was nice. The soda vending machines were almost all sold out of everything but there were a few options (and stores very close by). If Im ever in rock springs I'd definitely stay again.

Traveling in a group and one person had to change rooms because the door would not close and lock. We had to change rooms because the first room had an air conditioner that would not work. The next room had and a/c that barely worked and with the temperature outside in the 90's it took until midnight before the room was cool enough to sleep. The person at the front desk was great and tried to accommodate and help us the best he could. Other than the a/c the room was clean and comfortable

All they had was Netflix and other streaming apps . 3 shopping channels and ESPN was the extent of cable . No cold water at sink , handle on sink non functioning

The room served it's purpose only just. Clearly has not seen a vacume in months. Bed was clean and had NO alive bugs that I'm aware of, only dead ones. Door doesn't close sealed, daylight gap runs the perimeter of the door. Room was cheap so I made allowances.

We had a FANTASTIC stay at Motel 8 in Rock Springs! Everything about our stay was terrific. From the desk clerk checking us into our room and welcoming us and our furbabies, to the desk clerk checking us out and wishing us safe travels. Our room was clean and comfortable. The bed was great. The room amenities were more than sufficient. We were happy there was a mini frig and a microwave. There were SO MANY television channel choices! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The location was fantastic. EVERYTHING was great! But most of all, we so very much appreciate the way they welcomed our dogs and provided them with a large, clean, and convenient relief/exercise area. We are retired and our dogs are our family, and this might very well have been the best pet friendly hotel we have stayed in. We are SO grateful! We have family that lives in Rock Springs, and will be back to visit. We hope to make Motel 8 our Rock Springs home away from home! .

Found these things AFTER I unloaded my vehicle. ***1st rm assigned - frig unplugged & freezer full of water, heater in the room wouldn't work...it wouldn't even come on & went to use the phone to call office & it wouldn't work either. Tried calling using my cell phone & guess what???NO ANSWER...TWICE!!! Since I was in the very last room at the end of the bldg I had to go clean to the other end of the bldg back to the office. And it was cold that day, so I needed the heater. ***2nd rm EHH. BUT NO HOT WATER FOR A DAY & A HALF & THEY BLAMED IT ON DOING LAUNDRY. Who the hell does that??? Run so much laundry to run all the hot water out so that your rooms have NONE. I BELIEVE THAT WAS A LIE!!! It was Sunday & I think they didn't want to call anyone in to fix it. Debating as to whether to EVER STAY at this place again. I had a 1 yr old infant & NO HOT WATER... ANGRY ISN'T EVEN THE WORD I WOULD REALLY CHOOSE TO USE. The people that were cleaning the rooms were accommodating with any requests I had. Actually they were very nice AND polite. It was the front desk people that absolutely should not have a customer service job... They on the other hand were as welcoming as a cold frozen rag thrown over a clothes line. Pathetic. Jobs are hard to find in Rock Springs anyway I find it hard to believe they couldn't hire a better choice for the "FRONT DESK" position of 1st contact.

Stay elsewhere. I walked in to the lobby tires and was NOT greeted by the purple haired girl who simply asked for my babe abs credit card. No welcome, no greeting. The motel is old, and every sound from the parking lot will be heard in your room. There were sunflower seeds on the carpet in my room. Everything was cheap, old and uncared for. I hated how i was (not) greeted and everything else went downhill from there, stay elsewhere.

From the get go Horrible Customer Service, housekeeping didnt respect the do Not disturb signs, they left door wide open, 3 days in a row went into my room and only changed floor mat in the bathroom, Manager never returned my request to call me, tv channels unable to watch one single program without being interrupted with No signal, just stay away from this place and save yourself some headachea.

Great reception at the front. Very kind people both checking in and out. Also, the bed was surprisingly soft and comfortable. Wasn't expecting to actually enjoy my sleep, since I'm very picky, but I was pleasantly surprised. This will be my go-to for any future trips.

After driving all day we checked in late. The ladies at the front desk were so very nice and helpful. They gave us a room downstairs since we are seniors with bad knees. They suggested places to eat that were still open. We had a very nice room, quiet, everything worked as it should. I would recommend this motel to anyone. 5 stars.

I stay at this property a couple times a year. I have always liked the location. For the money, its a great place to stay and I like the fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room. Water is always hot for a shower, when taking a break from the road. It's older, but clean, and the beds are always comfortable.

Just stayed for one night, very coveniently located, walkingh distance to food places, walmart, drugstore

Only one ward come to mind for my stay at Motel 8, "Outstanding!" Easy to find off the interstate, clean room and if you need to shop, Walmart is a cross the street. You want coffee, Starbucks is right there too.

Close to many stores and the supermarket.

Hotel nice. Good deal for the price. Odd because a lot of people were loud in the parking lot but it wasnt the hotels fault. Random.

Perfect stop after a long day of traveling. Price was right and everything we needed was basically within walking distance

King Buffett around the corner-$20 and it was great. Walmart and Sonic were across the street. The room was as nice as a Harrah's hotel casino room, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee maker. Next year travel to Sturgis, I will stay here.

Thanksging trip to Bakersfield CA. Normally make the trip in 2 1/2 days, but added this stop to allow weather to clear along the route. Checkin staff friendly, efficient. Loved being able to catch dinner at Dickey’s BBQ, a 60 second walk across the parking lot.

The room was very nice and comfortable. Breakfast selection was slim.

Most impressive was the check-in call I received while traveling. When we arrived at a very late hour, it made my day to have the keys already in a lock box. I just grabbed them and went to my room. Awesome!! Also, the price was unbeatable!
