Room was clean enough but had areas that needed dusting. General maintenance was good and facilities are well kept. Spa is good value and is a great bonus to the hotel. Great area, close enough to Oslo to make it an easy trip during the day. Alternative places to eat in the area are all 30 minutes or so away though. Views are incredible and make the overall stay more than worthwhile.

The grounds and the setting are extremely well thought out and welcoming. I knew to expect issues, as when I called to confirm our massages, I was advised they were never booked into the system and there was no appointments left that day. No apologies - that's just the way things are. We arrived early and were told we needed to wait until 3pm to checkin- no issues - but it was obvious we were seniors. We were then told, our room was on the 3rd floor and we needed to walk and carry our luggage there. Why - there were vacant rooms on the other side of the hotel where the elevator was working. I found the check-in person would not reason with me - ie your room is over there. It's too bad, this person was on the front desk and left this impression. It's a lovely property and has so much to offer
