Great location if you want to ski. Very remedial in terms of staffing and amenities but the location is beyond convenient. Overall it was great, there’s just no housekeeping.

They had no services available. No food. No ice. No snack machines. Nothing! Very disappointed with our stay. We went for a wedding with a large group and none of us would stay there again!

We were told during the confirmation call that the parking garage was closed. It is a significant hike from the lot to the elevator with our luggage. Fortunately we could park fairly close and rolling luggage racks were available. The resort has spectacular scenery and the staff were very helpful. The best surprise was a really great fitness center with hot tub, sauna and steam rooms

Excellent location overlooking chair 11. Stayed here for MTB event. No kitchen ice trays, outside balcony railing needs repair, bathroom shower needs minor mold scrubbing. Enjoyed there full kitchen, convenient underground parking, and general ambiance of the building. Bathroom good size. Hot tub needs cleaning but did work.

Beautiful room. Had to have the concierge come turn the fire place on. Snow plow drove around outside till midnight, beeping and beeping. Easy parking. No hot tub even though Expedia advertised it. It’s been broken for 2 years

I liked being upgraded to a studio suite which had a kitchen and fireplace and many chairs. I also liked the fitness center and sauna which I used on several occasions. I couldn't get a coke machine after working out at the gym though.

The bedding had some very questionable stains on it (see photos), there was no ice in the ice machine and no hot water. When we told an employee there was no hot water, he said, yes we know. Terrible customer service and terrible stay. We were there for a wedding and it definitely was not a good experience.

Our unit was definitely not up to par, run down building interior and exterior water stains inside unit. We had to unexpectedly use the washer and it sounded like it was going to blow! Absolutely no amenities outside of the general store which closed at 4pm and slim to no food option after that point. Our sheets were clean and we had towel but other than that I would say some major TLC is needed at this property.

Beautiful area, horrible place to stay. 89 degrees in the room, no a/c. Couldn’t leave the windows open because no screens. No staff on site past 4pm. No TV service. No restaurant on site. Small local grocery store, $40 for a 12pack of beer. Single pack of Mac and cheese $10. Pool and spa area are for KCA members only, no access for us. Room was outdated, beat up, and dirty.

My room was so run-down and reeked of perfume to mask old cigarette smoke, I had to leave immediately as I get migraines from intense room spray smells. The front desk informed me that the hottub was also not working due to a long-standing propane shortage at the property, which should have been noted in the description. The front desk staff was empathetic with the smell and the poor quality of the room and were aware of issues with those room types (unbeknownst to me) but said they couldn’t do anything about it. I ended up driving home instead of staying at the property.

Property was totally miss represented by photos, we were in a lock out unit and could totally here the neighbors. Neighbors also left full poop bags in the hallway. We had very little walking space and kitchenette was just a mini fridge with microwave and coffee maker stacked on top. Humidifier didn’t work, window was broke and very little outlets to plug anything in. Love the mountain but little angry that our place was not told as it was and we paid so much.

Granted, it’s “off season” however: • There are virtually no facilities available on the area (restaurants, stores, bike/fishing rental etc etc. • the room was great for a college kid coming up to ski for the weekend with his buddies. The room was small, dark and old. The sink was plugged, the coffee machine had a broken carafe and the Murphy bed had a horrible mattress. The concierge promptly addressed the sink and carafe issues. • it’s expensive for this class of accommodation. • the hikes were great and the views are wonderful.

Loved coming during the off season! Even though most of the restaurants in the area were closed, it was peaceful and not crowded. Room was clean, decently sized, and it was quiet, even with the circus in town.

The only reason I rate this property a 3/5 is because there is no A/C. During the summer, it's terrible to not have A/C here. I was unable to sleep when I stayed here.

Imagine sleeping in loft of the third story condo during a summer heat wave with inside temps in the 90s, while being notified by e-mail days before the stay there is no AC ( with the justification that it’s not common in the area). If that sounds good I recommend this place.

Booked a room with 2 queen beds and ended up with a room with a double pull down bed and a pullout sofa. It was really hot in the room, power went out a few times and the tv didn’t work. But convenient location, easy ski in and out. Way overpriced!

Wonderful to stay so close to the lifts, and it was super nice to have underground parking during a snow storm. Loved the wood-burning fireplace.

We arrived on-site to a hostile, angry front desk employee that clearly had psychological issues. He was rude and condescending and we did literally nothing. We made the decision to leave the property and drive all the way home instead of staying because he made us so uncomfortable. We often cater weddings at a venue nearby and we were hoping to stay nearby. We will unfortunately need to recommend that guests and employees do not stay there. We were never refunded.

There is no one working at the front desk. When we checked in, we picked up a code to use at the door of our room. The code didn’t work when we called the after hours service number, we were given dozens of codes to try none of them worked. We were sitting outside in a very hot hallway for over an hour trying to gain access to our room. The after hours people said that they would send security to our room to help us. No one ever showed up. The room was extremely hot. We turned the heat all the way down and left the door open, but the room remain 80° overnight. We won’t be back.

NO AIR CONDITIONING! No front desk staff after 5PM. This was not known to me at the time of booking. The room was in the 80s. Nothing could be done about it except the fans in the room and my own body cooling itself by sweating. Service calls go to another ski resort and they couldn't do anything (no front desk staff after 5PM). Also because we had the windows open we could smell the person smoking weed on their porch, which I didn't like. Lastly there were no coffee mugs! No offer for discounted stay was made. The people at the front desk in the AM were really nice, and gave me a can of fizzy water.

Very frustrating to get ahold of. Didn’t answer the phone past 5 pm. Parking is HORRIBLE!!! Restaurant closes at 4 pm. Very little food choices otherwise (pizza place only).

Check-in went smoothly because of the friendly and professional staff person at reception! When I called later about a problem with the cable TV (no channels) she came over promptly and fixed the problem! What a great employee! She was just about to end her shift but had time to resolve the tech problem.

Terrible check in. Showed up 330 told room not ready. Understand with amount of snow short staff and struggles to prep. 645 pm still no room ready. Ot prepping based on customers there, just prepare rooms. Because push finally got room. Park 1/4 to 1/2 mile away. Not easy with ski gear. Should be able park under hotel in reserve spot since only 1 car on reservation. Loud at night with grooming machines. No food within few miles after 5pm. Most restaurants closed at 330. Only general store until 5. Room nice and close proximity to slopes.

For the off season visitor this may not be the place to stay. There weren't a lot of staff around. There was nothing open, no restaurants or shops. Drive carefully as there are a lot of potholes. The room we stayed in was dated. On the plus side it was not crowded and very quiet. There was one other occupant on the we floor. And pretty no one was around. For memorial day weekend last minute plans it was not expensive. The area around Kirkwood is extremely beautiful. If you want dining, you have to go to Caples Resort (which was yummy but expensive). Or you have to drive to Meyers or Tahoe.

For the off season visitor this may not be the place to stay. There weren't a lot of staff around. There was nothing open, no restaurants or shops. Drive carefully as there are a lot of potholes. The room we stayed in was dated. On the plus side it was not crowded and very quiet. There was one other occupant on the we floor. And pretty no one was around. For memorial day weekend last minute plans it was not expensive. The area around Kirkwood is extremely beautiful. If you want dining, you have to go to Caples Resort (which was yummy but expensive). Or you have to drive to Meyers or Tahoe.

Great location if you want to ski. Very remedial in terms of staffing and amenities but the location is beyond convenient. Overall it was great, there’s just no housekeeping.

Good: Location is good. Inside the village. Close to the lifts. Staffs are responsive and very helpful. Not so good: Property is old. Just in general feels outdated. We booked a studio. They use gas stoves inside the studio. Mattress is not firm enough. There is basically no night life at all in the resort. All shops are closed, which was surprising to us. Otherwise, it is quiet and good for watching stars.

Wonderful to stay so close to the lifts, and it was super nice to have underground parking during a snow storm. Loved the wood-burning fireplace.

Granted, it’s “off season” however: • There are virtually no facilities available on the area (restaurants, stores, bike/fishing rental etc etc. • the room was great for a college kid coming up to ski for the weekend with his buddies. The room was small, dark and old. The sink was plugged, the coffee machine had a broken carafe and the Murphy bed had a horrible mattress. The concierge promptly addressed the sink and carafe issues. • it’s expensive for this class of accommodation. • the hikes were great and the views are wonderful.

Loved coming during the off season! Even though most of the restaurants in the area were closed, it was peaceful and not crowded. Room was clean, decently sized, and it was quiet, even with the circus in town.

I understand why the restaurants are closed, but I feel if just one ski lift was open for mountain biking, and a smidge of advertising, there would be enough visitors to warrant opening the restaurant.

Very frustrating to get ahold of. Didn’t answer the phone past 5 pm. Parking is HORRIBLE!!! Restaurant closes at 4 pm. Very little food choices otherwise (pizza place only).

Our unit was definitely not up to par, run down building interior and exterior water stains inside unit. We had to unexpectedly use the washer and it sounded like it was going to blow! Absolutely no amenities outside of the general store which closed at 4pm and slim to no food option after that point. Our sheets were clean and we had towel but other than that I would say some major TLC is needed at this property.

Beautiful area, horrible place to stay. 89 degrees in the room, no a/c. Couldn’t leave the windows open because no screens. No staff on site past 4pm. No TV service. No restaurant on site. Small local grocery store, $40 for a 12pack of beer. Single pack of Mac and cheese $10. Pool and spa area are for KCA members only, no access for us. Room was outdated, beat up, and dirty.

I booked this room with the explicit understanding there would be an after hours check in option. I received the lockbox information for retrieving my key/check in materials after hours but there was no envelope in the box for me. The emergency after hours phone in the lobby area did not work. When I called the after hours phone line, no one answered nor returned my message. I was left, cold, alone, and in the dark in the middle of the night and had to ride my bike all the way to South Lake Tahoe.

Kirkwood is pretty dead in the summer. Restaurant wasn’t open either day of our stay. We were told the General Store was open with Breakfast, Coffee, Sandwiches, etc. It was only open 1 of the 2 days we were there. There were no resort amenities open. The room was very basic. Very dated. Bedding and towels subpar. No AC. Probably fine most of the year but we were there when it was quite warm. This is probably a good option for skiers in the winter. Definitely not recommended for a summer stay.

First room temperature was 94, no air conditioning, no fans were in the room. Dan at the desk was very accommodating and got us different room that was cooler. However, no bedding for the extra pull out bed, not enough towels for 3 guests, plugs in bathroom did not work, tried resetting the GFR not successful, found an screen in the closet and reinstalled in the window accommodations not up to par.
