Mas Valentine is a boutique hotel in a convenient location near Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, with a beautiful garden and pleasant outdoor areas. Unfortunately, the hotel is close to a fairly noisy road, and the room lacked authentic Provençal charm. It was dull, with poor decoration and an uncomfortable, cheap-feeling bed. The wellness area was closed and inaccessible during our stay. Most disappointing was the very poor value for money: €385 per night for an experience that was significantly inferior to several comparable hotels nearby. At this price, we expected considerably more in terms of comfort, charm and facilities. The service on departure was, however, very nice. The overall 2/5 rating is due to the price/quality ratio. Had it been priced more reasonably, our rating would have been higher.

Perfectly located. Attractive property and very good staff. No meals except (very good) breakfast but cold platters available, lunch or dinner, by arrangement. Aircon system not really up to the job of 38' but when ours failed, our room was changed immediately. Very nice, quite large salt water swimming pool. A handrail to get into the pool would be a great addition; people with difficult knees (me) or hips may not be able to get in or out without help.
