Very enjoyable stay. Owner and staff were very friendly. Lively pub atmosphere and the breakfast was excellent! Easy access to Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. Very enjoyable stay.

This was a perfect stopover after visiting Monkey World (just 4 miles away) . As well as the use of one room we were allowed to park our campervan overnight. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. The food was both tasty and excellent value

A lovely old inn, upgraded and updated to offer all of the contemporary comforts one might want, including free WiFi /Internet. The room was medium size, with a queen /double bed and wonderfully illuminated bb its skylight. The bed and bed linens were outstanding; couldn’t be better. The pub & restaurant were as charmingly English as a Yank could want and the food was very good. I would return in a heartbeat, given the opportunity, and recommend it to any single or couple. It might be great for larger families, too; I simply don ’t know.

Authentic British bed and breakfast/pub! Peaceful countryside, wonderful food, nice staff and facilities. The only thing we could say would be that you need to book all taxis in advance, but otherwise nothing but good to say about the Countryman Inn. We will be going back.

Great food and drink. Excellent service. It is an old fashioned hotel - with everything to comes to mind from the description. If you want ultra modern than this is not for you. If you want charm and old fashioned then this place is great.

The staff there were so friendly and helpful. The food and beers on tap were all excellent. The rooms were very well appointed, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Overall I give them an A rating.

The room was nice and spacious. The beds were comfy, everything was clean, could perhaps do with some rails on the wall to hold onto getting in and out of bath. The food was fantastic as was the breakfast. There isn’t much nearby and quite isolated especially if you don’t have a car. It was quite expensive to stay.

I’ve stayed here a few times now for work. Very impressed with the friendliness and service of staff. The room I stayed in was excellent and spacious with a superb shower. Really comfy bed with nice duvet. I’ve eaten off the set evening menu in the pub/restaurant, food very good and great value. A must stay if you are in the area.

It’s rare to visit an establishment where there are so many excellent staff. We visited the Countryman on Boxing Day and booked a Christmas meal and a double room. The food was wonderful, the service was excellent. The room was very comfortable. I cannot praise everyone enough. If you visit Dorchester, this IS the place to stay. Thank you for making our Boxing Day so lovely

Such a beautifully quaint inn.Friendly and helpful staff.The room was so spacious.The breakfast was so tasty and was amazed at how hot it was.Couldnt fault it .Perfectly located for us to get to the festival.

My daughter and I really enjoyed out stay. Lovely rooms, large beds which was very comfy. Also very nice to have a large bottle of water and it was refilled the next day. Cannot praise the staff enough or the manager who is very jolly. Food was excellent and despite a staff shortage it was excellent service in the restaurant and in the outside eating area.

Everything was fine but walls were quite thin. The risk is then getting noisy neighbours which unfortunately we did and ended up not getting to sleep until late

This was our second visit (one year later). The friendliness of the staff is still good but the food quality and service has deteriorated. Quite a long wait for food. Understandable as they were busy and happy to wait for freshly cooked food. However all three different main courses were dry and overcooked. The pasta with the salmon was just a few rings which hadn't been mixed properly with the sauce. At breakfast (which was not busy) there was very little fruit juice in the containers. The milk dispenser was empty an the coffee jug was not refilled. The few croissants were stale. There were only three other people present at breakfast so they were not overstretched.

We Loved our stay at this wonderful inn....the staff were all super friendly and you could tell they Enjoyed working there...Dogs are welcome and it felt like everyone who entered brought one with them...Food was delicious even to the point that my wife claimed she had the best sweet for desert that she had ever tasted....Would definitely return..

Historical property, quiet this time of year (end of Sept) and friendly staff. Great food too. Well worth visiting if you’re in the area! Close to the Tank Museum and good local taxis.

A lovely old inn, upgraded and updated to offer all of the contemporary comforts one might want, including free WiFi /Internet. The room was medium size, with a queen /double bed and wonderfully illuminated bb its skylight. The bed and bed linens were outstanding; couldn’t be better. The pub & restaurant were as charmingly English as a Yank could want and the food was very good. I would return in a heartbeat, given the opportunity, and recommend it to any single or couple. It might be great for larger families, too; I simply don ’t know.

It’s rare to visit an establishment where there are so many excellent staff. We visited the Countryman on Boxing Day and booked a Christmas meal and a double room. The food was wonderful, the service was excellent. The room was very comfortable. I cannot praise everyone enough. If you visit Dorchester, this IS the place to stay. Thank you for making our Boxing Day so lovely

We Loved our stay at this wonderful inn....the staff were all super friendly and you could tell they Enjoyed working there...Dogs are welcome and it felt like everyone who entered brought one with them...Food was delicious even to the point that my wife claimed she had the best sweet for desert that she had ever tasted....Would definitely return..

Great food and drink. Excellent service. It is an old fashioned hotel - with everything to comes to mind from the description. If you want ultra modern than this is not for you. If you want charm and old fashioned then this place is great.

We were welcomed on arrival and shown to our room. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We had a meal in the restaurant on our first night. The food was beautifully cooked. The portions were generous. We were served by Connor who was very enthusiastic and attentive. The bar served a wide choice of drinks. There was a good choice at breakfast with generous portions and the food was well presented and nicely cooked. There was unlimited tea, coffee and toast. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay. We would highly recommend and would be happy to return.
