Loyd Hall Plantation

Very serene and peaceful, great pool, but cottages are incredibly outdated. Everything was broken or didn’t work. Holes in the walls and ceiling. Incredibly overpriced.

This has been a hard review to write, it’s a beautiful property but we were disappointed with some aspects. The main house from the drive is stunning, we were staying in the Commissary around the back by the pool. Due to a storm the day before the pool didn’t look it’s best but understandable. Sadly the overall appearance of the cottage’s outback were a little tatty, the paint was peeling off, inside we felt it was a bit more shabby than shabby chic. The tap in the bathroom was covered in limescale, back & front doors couldn’t open fully, they caught on the floor, the shower door would not open or close properly either. The good points. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, towels were so soft and toiletries and coffee were plenty. Everything you need for your stay was in the kitchen. The peace and quiet was amazing, we sat outside with a bottle of wine until sunset when we came in due to the mosquitoes. Breakfast was served in the main house, sadly the lady who gives the house tours had passed away a couple of day before so we looked round ourselves, the rooms in the main house were stunning, wished we had book one of these. Mindy cooked breakfast, one of the best we have ever had in a hotel or guesthouse, especially her pancakes. She’s a lovely girl & an exceptional host, we enjoyed speaking with her and Chris who explained that there are renovations going on, which we could see around the main house but the cottage’s need work to bring them up to the same standard.

Beautiful property! Quiet, clean and the staff was so sweet! If you're looking for a couples get away this is it. 30 min from casinos, 15 min from restaraunts, and a ton of history!

We had a 2 night stay over the weekend at Loyd Hall Plantation. We stayed in the Magnolia... The cottage was very clean, the bed was comfortable, plenty of towles, hand towels and wash cloths. We were asked if we needed anything, which we did not. There was Bidy wash, soap, shampoos, conditioners and lotion in the restroom if any was needed. Plenty of coffee, creamer and sugar. The lady thay is the housekeeper went above and beyond to make sure all was good. Over all the stay was amazing and we will be going back soon!

Very nice building, very good accomodation; however one appartment (in the main house) is better than the second (some equipment lacking).

Don’t go here on Monday or Tuesday. Grab n go breakfast was a frozen microwave sausage biscuit and you can’t tour the main house on those days. The only other person we saw there was a cleaning person. The best part of the stay was the very comfortable bed and learning a little about the history of the place from the plaque on the door.

I really enjoyed my stay and look forward to returning. The room was comfortable and quiet and the historic context made it an interesting experience.

Very cozy and relaxing. Fireplace in room was wonderful and perfect on a cold evening.

Loved the delicious breakfast prepared by Ms Beulah and our morning conversations! She is very knowledgeable in the history of the house and does a wonderful home tour.

There was no one upon arrival. Breakfast & tour was included but we could not get in touch with anybody. There was no breakfast, dining area closed & main house locked, no tour. We definitely did not het what we paid for. The whole reason we went out of our way to stay here.

Reserved a room for the same night Received no check in instructions so I called several times asking for some and to let them know that we would arrive at midnight The door to the magnolia sweet was locked quite the disappointment after driving 15 hours Please refund all money paid

We had a wonderful stay at the Lloyd Hall Plantation! Beautiful, historic, and charming place. The staff was wonderful and the breakfast was amazing. We stayed in the Magnolia Cottage, but would love to check out one of the suites in the main house next time. Highly recommended!!!

We Love Lloyd Hall and Miss Beulah is a Delight!! Love her breakfast. We always stay there when visiting our daughter.

No one was here when we checked in. As a matter of fact, we were all alone on the property our entire night! No one greeted us. I haf to call and was told our key was in an envelope outside the office door. Being that this is a haunted house, made the stay that more creepy. We were served a nice hot breakfast in the morning and then left.

Spending our night all alone at a Plantation was amazing. We felt very safe and secure in our own 1800's mansion. We enjoyed a glass of wine one the second floor porch in rocking chairs watching the sun set over the farm fields. The ladies made a delicious breakfast and provided a history of the property.

I fully enjoyed the accommodations. The host even left me a breakfast sandwich each morning in my fridge because I left before breakfast was served. I’ll be staying again bc of the convenience, peacefulness and accommodations, along with being close to my work location.

This place is awesome, but only if you like quite and isolated place to relax and unplug. Mrs. Buehle is a great host her breakfast is crazy good, all most hurt myself eating. Would highly recommend!!!!!

If you love history you can really appreciate this place so I loved being there I believe everyone should at least stay there once and embrace the history, silence, and experience of being able to walk around something so beautiful and antique that still standing

Stayed in commissary with my daughter. Had plantation to ourselves so little spooky and did not really feel like we were alone. Definitely want to go back.

We found the plantation when I was looking for places to stay near Alexandria for work. I brought my little dog with me so I needed a place that is pet friendly. We were so excited to find Loyd Hall plantation. We were the only ones staying there that night. It was a very nice experience. We are planning a return trip for longer. Ms Beulah took the time to show us around the big house. She told us so many stories and facts about the house and furniture. And about the ghost stories! She was truly amazing.

This was a great getaway. It was historical and beautiful. The inn keeper cooked us breakfast told us stories and showed us around. She been working there for 42 years so she knows all history. Great place for family reunion or group of friends family friendly
