Riverbend Motel & Cabins

The property around the water had trash and discarded clothing and the grills had not been cleaned and were full of cigarette butts and old vapes.

Excellent location, safe and quiet. Dog friendly with a dog park right next to the river. On the pricey side for bringing your dog as they charge per day and not a one time charge. Everything in Helen is easy walking distance for shopping and dinning.

Good location, Good parking, there's a few covered parking spots. A/C is awesome, 65 degrees-No problem. Staff is friendly. Breakfast is limited.

I like how you could build a small fire right on the river.

The hotel is located next to the Chattahoochee River and the hotel has swings, picnic tables and benches for their guests' use. We enjoyed sitting beside the river and watching the people tubing float by. It was very comfortable with large trees providing shade and an occasional breeze.

Hotel shows its age. But the bed was comfortable, location was awesome, rates were reasonable and the staff was great. It is right on the river and there are swings so you can go sit by the water. They also have steps so you can access the water easier. Overall, my wife and I enjoyed our stay and would stay again at Riverbend.

Hotel was walking distance to the town. Room was very clean. River runs in front of the property with swings that you can sit in and watch the tubers come through. Great little spot!

Husband and I was there for a weekend get away anniversary. We had our puppy/dog but our baby. The water area was clean and plenty of places to grill and it was never over crowed on river. They have a nice green grassy area for the dogs to play or potty.. pet station is provided with bags and trash can. This is were we will stay from now on.

I liked that they allowed dogs and provided waste disposal bags along with a designated disposal receptacle. The property is large enough to allow your dog to run. They provided a large covered smoking area away from the hotel entrance. I enjoyed being able to watch people tube down the river. It's a short walk to the main shopping area and many restaurants. The only drawback was they don’t have an elevator. A family member was on crutches and found it difficult to maneuver two flights of stairs.

Our room was clean and seemed to be fairly recently renovated. Great access to the river and a very short walk to downtown Helen.

Breakfast was basically carbs—not much fresh. We ended up eating out every morning. Staff were all super friendly. Room smelled like urine. Cleaners came in and the smell was still there but it was masked with that cheap hotel cleaner smell. Front desk tried to call the room and the phone was missing the cord. Blow dryer was broken. My husband like firm and I like soft beds—both beds were like a rock, we tossed and turned the whole time. The walls are thin. We could hear people pacing upstairs all night, I don’t remember hearing that at other hotels. I think we paid $400 a night during Oktoberfest. The room is not worth that: you’re seriously paying for the location which is fantastic, but the hotel seriously needs more attn and a better breakfast at that price point.

Nice location but the cleanliness of the room was very disappointing, especially when paying $300 for one night. The shower was awful, there was a thick layer of dust on the ceiling fan indicating it hadn’t been touched in months, walls were dirty. The property itself is older however that is no excuse for the state of the room. We were only there long enough to River tube, go to dinner, and sleep so we dealt with it, but I would not have wanted to stay any longer. Room 121.

riverside access was nice kept clean. housekeeping inside rooms not so much. mold growing on shower entry and shower doors.

It is a good location. Our room was outdated and there was visible mold. We did like the river view.

Decided to stay at this place due to recent good reviews and for the location. However our stay was not as accommodating as I had wished. The service and friendliness of the staff was great. However, the room was outdated and could use some deep cleaning. There was “stuff” stuck onto the bathroom walls & doors. The corners of the baseboards was nasty- just giving it a ick feeling. Our room was not the cleanest- there was hair on the bathroom floor when we arrived. My one and half year old child feet/socks were filthy after walking across the floors. All made me uneasy that it was a well cleaned place. I did see one roach during our stay. I had to put on my big girl attitude and deal with it but likely will not stay here again.

The property was right on the river. The beds were amazing. Outside was very worn, but the room was updated. Excellent and friendly staff. The bathroom was covered in ants and my daughter made friends with a rat.

The shower has mold

The only thing I didn't like was the AC system was very loud and dripped water on the floor.

The bed was extremely hard, but the room was clean. The staff was very nice and helpful. We've stayed before and can see many updates. It was a nice stay.

Best location! Walkable to everything in downtown Helen in a few minutes. Proximity to the Chattahoochee was my favorite part of our stay. The balcony overlooking the river was pleasant and enjoyable even in a rainstorm. We enjoyed watching all the fishermen in their waders. We would definitely stay here again. A bit dated but you can tell from the pictures so that is not a surprise. Our bed was comfortable and the linens and towels were clean and tidy. Great weekend stay!

Liked that it was right on the river and our room had been recently renovated. The TV was great and the beds were very comfortable.

Our room had an amazing view of the hillside and the river. During the winter it does take approx. 15mins for the hot shower water to heat up. Most or all shops and diners were within walking distance. Was an amazing stay for our Anniversary.

The bed was very firm and the pillows were flat and hard. Sounded like a lot of foot stomping all hours of day and night. Not sure if it was maintenance in back hallway or people in room above us. Love the location, room was clean and staff was exceptional.

An older property, but nicely remodeled. Wifi was marginal. But beautiful location just outside the hubub and on the river. Free breakfast bar. Id go back!

Great place to stay excellent staff

In my 70 years of being on this earth, I have never had such a horrible experience. It started with the check in. I was under the impression that I had paid prior to my arrival, through hotels.com. As soon as I told her that I had paid for two rooms through the website the desk clerk, Laurie became very loud, rude and unprofessional towards me telling me "we don't accept payments from the parties.... she went on to say, "hotels.com has failed to pay us before, so absolutely NO 3rd parties payments are accepted...". Then she goes on to say very loudly that she had tried to run my credit card and she bellows out, that my card had been "DECLINED". In front of my business partner from Canada who I had brought to see Helen. It was truly a very bad experience and I was treated very disprectfully by Laurie and the manager, who failed to identify her self. The hotel rooms were minimally cleaned. In February both rooms were set on AC at 61 degrees. Tells me the housekeepers mush hate the place also!! Middle of the winter and no blankets on the beds or in rooms. I understand not making the beds with blankets, but put them in a clean bag and make available in the middle of the winter in the NORTH GEORGIA MOUNTAINS. That seems like a no Brainer. And finally the beds are HORRIBLE. Not since I was a young adult man in the 1970s staying in Panama City Beach at a $15 a night hotel have I slept on a worst bed. Come Riverbend, learn how to buy beds!!

First let’s talk about how nice they were at the front desk, Kayla figured out a credit card issue for us and was very patient. The property was in a perfect area to be able to walk to all The Oktoberfest Festivities, love the swings by the river, super relaxing. Loved the quick breakfast options to grab on your way out for the day especially the lemon loaf and waffles in a bag. The property could be updated a bit and it would be nice if the curtains could block all the walkway light, and if the bathroom and toilet wasn’t such a tight area. But overall, it was a great stay for the price, I will definitely be back!

The place was very nice and quiet. Great river view. My only complaint is that we asked for our room to be cleaned and it never was.

Staff were all excellent

The staff were amazing and very helpful upon check-in. Everyone from the front desk to housekeeping to management made my stay as enjoyable as possible! Best team ever and made all the difference in my stay! Highly recommend!

Front desk staffs: very polite and helpful Room: it must have been recently remodeled. Look new, clean and nice. Location: I would say this is the best location in town. Walking distance to fancy restaurants, specialty stores and in town attractions. Easy parking. Next to the river. In the evening, I sat on the swing bench, listening to the river, watching the ducks, and also took a small walk along the river. Very relax. The hotel surprised me in every areas: the room quality, service, location, safeness. I would definitely book it again if we will visit Helen next time.

We love the location and the staff was super nice

Stay was good. Interrupted by a lot of rain at no fault to the hotel. Staff seemed a bit short at the front desk with the exception of Jessica. Room appeared clean but found mold on sheets and bathroom door did not close.

The staff were great very friendly and helpful and very knowledgeable about everything!

We were right off Main Street where all the action was. All the shoppes and restaurants were still decorated for Christmas!

Second time staying here, not disappointed. Centrally located for a easy walk anywhere in Helen. Great hotel.

A great spot, by the river and a very skort walk to center. Nice people, breakfast and coffee quick and good. Great coffee.

Hilton in Atlanta area was horrible they were under construction and we had no hot water for the 2 day stay. Elevator squeaked to a stop, trash around common areas. Not happy 😒 Now Helen Ga, River Bend hotel was a lot better it was family run but sweet and clean. Not much of a Breakfast but ok

Overall the stay was very nice. Rooms were clean and the staff were friendly. If I had anything to offer some advice on it would be this, when you give the guest a frozen bfast sandwich/burrito you might want to actually tell them how long they need to cook it for in the microwave. I got mine and the writing on the packaging was so small it was almost impossible to read. Needless to say it was not edible afterwards and I just settled for some grits and a muffin.

The towels were very worn, there was no blanket, breakfast was only sweet and packaged things, nothing cooked, not even a sausage.

Very clean and conveniently located right on the river in the heart of downtown. Breakfast was just OK but take the time to walk to Dotties for a delicious, hot meal.

The are around the hotel was very nice. The river that runs by the property was really nice. The room was nice but the bed was really hard. Not much of a choice for the breakfast.
