La Quinta by Wyndham Leesville Ft. Polk

We arrived at hotel in the late evening for check-in and first words from the night clerk was "We don\'t have breakfast" not good evening or welcome to LaQuinta. I guess that comment set the tone for our stay as it went downhill fast from there. Here were the concerning issues with our stay: 1. Hotel security at side entrance doors is non-existent as all card readers were broken and doors were always open....everyone welcome! 2. Our first steps inside the door near the pool almost took our breath away from the pungent odor of black mold and mildew around the door frame and floor. 3. Room service was very, very poor and I\'m being generous with this comment. Bed was not made, sheets not changed, damp bath towels folded and put back in place, no tissues in counter dispenser, in-room coffee maker was broken, for which I went to front desk and obtained a replacement. This effort was pointless as no new coffee packets were replenished for subsequent days of stay. 4. The area advertised to obtain after hours sundries was completely vacant. I inquired about any vending machines... answer from night clerk was a flat out.. NONE.... no apologies. 5. Pool area was padlocked. Of course the pool was filthy dirty with pool furniture sitting in the bottom. 6. Several floor tiles in hallway from front desktop the non-working elevator were broken and loose... be careful. Expectations from my initial interactions were set exceptionally low and I must say La Quinta didn\'t disappoint!

Couple doors to the outside do not lock at anytime, rust in the bathroom, needs updating

MOUSE POOP in the frosted flakes...dispensed flakes and put on milk when I noticed it. I brought to attention of desk clerk and they changed the cereal dispenser, but NEVER APOLOGIZED OR ASKED ANY QUESTIONS. Toilet would not stop running in the room. Never offered to change the room even though very few hotel guests in the hotel. The outdoor pool was green and dirty. The hotel lost electricity for one day and we had to leave bc no air or lights. No accommodation was made. Extremely disappointed!!!!!!! Desk clerks were nice, but no customer service follow through!!!!!!

Corporate needs to get on the ball and invest in the property. The pool was not usable, when we arrived there were 3 chairs in the murky pool water. Thr pool tables and chairs are made ofnlightweight alluminum and everything is rustingnor cracking. The weather there requires better quality outdoor furniture. The property itself is ok, however, the landsaping was not tended to. Fire hydrants have duck tape on them... the staff busted butt daily to work on the pool. This isnt a staff issue but corporate being cheap and lazy

When we arrived we were told we had been downgraded as our room wasn’t available but not given a discounted price. Air conditioning on floor 4 was nonexistent. Had to purchase a fan to even make the room tolerable. No breakfast as advertised, pool was green, elevator sounded like it was going to crash when taking it, mold in room. Stay elsewhere!

Pool was green even though they told me at the front desk it was cleaned the day before. I asked another guest who was there for 3 days and he said it has been green the whole time. The only thing he saw them do was put a hose in it to add water. The filter was full of dead bugs and scum. When you pull into the parking lot there are 2 broken down cars. One is on blocks. One has been there so long that there is dirt buildup under it. 4 flat tires and no license plate. You enter the hotel through a walkway with tons of bird nests in it so you have to walk though piles of bird poo. They also say they offer breakfast on the website. I came down for breakfast and she said they don't offer breakfast. When I got into the room the ac was on 62 degrees and it was freezing. I set the ac on 70 and soon realized why they had it set so cold. As the room got closer to 70 degrees the smells of musk and mildew got strong. We went to a store to buy air fresheners to help with the smell in the room. They also do not have the drinks and snacks that they show on the website. The area is there but completely empty. I walked to the laundry area 4 times to do a load of laundry and the machine was full the same dirty clothes that was just in there and not being washed. I checked again in the morning and it was still there so I was not able to use the washing machine. Please do better than me and call them before you book to see if they have fixed anything before you stay there.

Property has been updated and remodeled. Looks nice but pool isn’t open yet, and they aren’t serving breakfast. They said they can’t advertise that because it goes against LaQuinta’s policies….. so I paid for services I don’t get?

My room smelled awful. Had to keep spraying air freshener every time i walked in. The breakfast each morning was gross. One morning they didnt have anything to get the waffles out with or the bread or the boiled eggs. They didnt even make the sausage links like normal. My kids were very disappointed. The bread was stale. Waffles tasted weird. Plus, every time we are there, the pool is green. Ih and one of the elevators was down as well. There are broken tiles in the hallway next to the check-in desk.

Decent motel, but they only had one ice machine on the entire property and it was out of order. Property needs updating.

Property is in terrible shape - appears to be mid-renovation with huge sections of rotting wall on the exterior all around the first floor. No amenities of any type and no security (exterior doors wouldn’t close fully).

Hallway carpet is stained and dirty. Bathroom was nasty with mold and dirt in the cracks. Shower door was filthy. Free breakfast was a joke with only coffee, cereal and waffle. This hotel has gone downhill. It use to be decent.

This hotel is a health hazard. Moldy curtains in 4 of the rooms that I was shown. Sticky floors. Torn and dirty curtains. Stained toilet lids and seats. Dirty showers. Stained and smelly carpet.

The employees were friendly but the room we were in was not clean. The bathroom floor had trash on it and it was not cleaned until the last day of our stay. The bathroom also has some maintenance needs around the shower and tub to keep the water from creating mold and rot around the tub.

There was lots of hair all over the bathroom. In the shower on the walls and shower floor. The hair on the toilet was very disgusting. Stains on the counter and I’m not talking about water spots. The floor not swept. Basically I think they forgot to clean this room and I got stuck in yet another dirty room twice. I didn’t complain the first time but this time here it’s ridiculous. I wish someone would have reached out to me.

Restroom was not cleaned dog hair everywhere

I can't say I would stay here again. While the hotel was relatively quiet, it was in terrible condition. My shower completely flooded the bathroom floor which I learned was still covered in whatever soap they used to mop the floor as I slid and almost busted my face on the slick sud covered floor. It was a handicap shower and the water was not properly contained, leaving it to rush out into the floor. I had to request a lot of towels to keep the floor dryer. MOLD everywhere. The baseboards behind the bed and all through the room were covered making the room smell pretty bad. The whole room floor was slick with mop leftovers and stayed damp from the humidity. TV remote did not work. On my last morning before checkout out, the lady doing house keeping was screaming irately at either another member of the staff or possibly on the phone, I could not tell from the peep hole, but she was cussing in the hallway and yelling other profanities. I thought it was another guest until I saw her inter the room across the hall with her cart. I was not able to get breakfast in the morning because other guests had cleaned it out and it was never restocked after the first rush leaving only tea packets on the counter.

The hotel smells like mold and found a mold on the sheets after we woke up the first night and went to ask to have them changed and when we got back later in the day they where never changed and I had to go down and get them myself

Property was dirty, unkept, clearly water damaged, and in need of renovation!

The staff was great but no smiles they looked miserable and they should looking at the condition of the hotel. It’s very dirty. Pubes in my bath, the tub leaks, dust and bugs everywhere and the black out curtains didn’t close. Also the floors were nasty and sticky. I’ll never stay or recommend this place.

1st room a/c went out in the middle of the night, woke up sweating. Night attendant was able to move me to another room. 2nd room a/c didn't work at all, tv would not work, and entry way lights did not work, finally the 3rd room i moved to i was able to get rest.

Hotel needs a lot of work. Broken furniture, dirty rooms, mold in closet in room, no access to vending, 1 elevator broken for entire stay, etc. On the plus the bed was comfortable and the AC's worked amazing. Also staff was helpful.

The overall stay was very pleasant, staff was great, so the complaints are not against them it against the owners of the Hotel. However I do have a complaints. 1. IT TAKES 15 MINUTES TO GET HOT WATER IN THE SHOWER, IT WASN'T JUST ONE DAY IT WAS THE WHOLE TRIP 3 DAYS. The hotel looks great on the outside but really could use updating. 2. You advertise breakfast but do not have it. This is FALSE ADVERTISEMENT! If you are not going to serve breakfast then take it off your website. Instead people have to spend more money for breakfast. I do plan on contacting the Better Business bureau regarding this. Maybe then you will do something about this.

Not family friendly, people out at the pool drinking and being lod until 1am. Hotel need a lot of work next to hvac unit floor was soft and spongee on the 2nd floor, whole place smelt like a giant water leak recently happenef

I really didn't like anything about this hotel! First of all ,there was no breakfast and no snacks nor anything that u could purchase.The first room i had,had no smoke detached, the curtains was stained so bad,the sheets on the bed were dirty and had hair on them,the drain in the bathroom sink was split,air conditioning unit was nasty,like it was never cleaned since it been opened! Then they moved us to another room where i had no shower curtain,and everything in the room that was made of wood was ate up!

Good Evening and thank you for the message. First and foremost, the lady at the front desk has provided excellent customer service. With that being said this may be my first time in a very long time staying at La Quinta and surprised at the following... -Ironing board was broken -No shower curtain -One of the remotes is broken with no batteries -No hangers to hang up the clothes after ironing The room is very spacious and clean but was surprised about those items above. Plus my view out the window is pool furniture at the bottom of the pool.

The couch was filthy. Had to get sheets to cover the couch. No fire alarm in the bedroom. The thermostat was torn from the wall. The curtains in the bed room were torn. Sun shined in, so no sleeping in. Lamp shad torn from lamp. Some of the tiles on wall were missing in the bathroom and kitchen/living area. The dresser in the room looked like it came from the side of the road. NO BREAKFAST, the only reason I wanted to stay. The pool was not clean. This is all un called for. Should’ve been told there were no rooms.

A bit run-down. Has a slight smell, not very clean or kept. For example, smoke detector was missing in my room with wires dangling from the roof in it's place. Missing floorboard in the bathroom so exposed hole in wall, tub drain doesn't seal, so unable to take a bath, etc. Worked fine for my short trip, but I wouldn't stay there again.

Stood at the front desk for 30 minutes trying to check in. Worker was in a truck with her boyfriend out on the side and had to track her down. Attempted to call several timea and she didnt care. Then ankther 20 minutes later i finally get a room and someone is already in it. So finally after all the crap i get a room and its 2 twin beds instead of a queen bed like i paid for. Overall miserable and will never stay there again.

In the beginning it was not ok but your guests service lady was the best had wasp in our room she changed our room right away

Clerk tried in checkin to help with a new room

The Desk clerks were fantastic. The room was clean. The only problem for me was breakfast was not very appetizing. They had batter for waffles, 3 sausages for my husband and I. No fruit, no bread but a toaster. Cereal and oatmeal but no milk. No forks just knives and spoons. Just disappointed it’s been better other LaQuinta’s. We went at 8 am.

No house keeping service for 4 days out of 14 day stay never had that happen before.

There wasn’t breakfast as stated when we booked the room. The elevator smelled of dog pee. Lost electricity for over an hour the morning we were trying to get ready to check out. Housekeeping service came by to clean at 10am when we clearly wasn’t ready due to the power outage was very rude because they would have to come back.

H O R R I B L E!!!!!!!!!! NO HOUSEKEEPING! Stayed for 4 days and no trash was changed, no bedding changed, no towels replaced, NO BREAKFAST, even after i spoke to Randy at the front desk personally asking to get assistance with housekeeping for the next day, no one ever assisted with cleaning the rooms on the 3rd floor. Not to mention, THE MOLDY ODOR!!! Disgusting and would NEVER recommend staying at this place EVER again in life. This caused a huge inconvenience to me and my family that travelled states to bury my military uncle for his service. HORRIBLE PLACE TO STAY!!!!!

Well, the overall stay was very nice. The hotel was comfortable. Had a pool unfortunately never had time to use the pool next to shopping area McDonald’s right across the street right outside the entrance to Fort Johnson Army base which is great. Now the hotel could use a little refreshing up, but the overall hotel to me was very nice. Very quiet. The beds were very comfortable. I slept like a baby is extremely friendly unfortunately they don’t have continental breakfast at the moment but the coffee is very good which is available 24 seven comparing to hotels in the area, I will give this a solid 4 1/2 out of five, but if they were to refresh, it would definitely get a five especially the continental breakfast was reinstated. I recommend this hotel.

Good place to stay during PCS transition

The hotel location was great, it sits very close to the base main gate.

Closest hotel to FJLA. Safe/peace of mind with parking. No breakfast provided. Small fitness center. Coin laundry. Pool looked nice but excessive daily rains deterred me from trying it out. Maybe next time!

The staff were great. The room was clean, but the hotel is older and could use a renovation. They did not have anything in the shop and did not serve breakfast. My main reason for booking this hotel was due to breakfast being served. The staff were great though. The amenities should be updated to what is actually available.

If all you want is a room it is OK. If you are expecting a breakfast and a pool as they claim - - you are out of luck.
