Cooke City is a walk back in time, a very small, quaint mountain town with limited dining/shopping options and zero cell phone service. The only cell service was through the hotel's wifi, which worked fine. The ice machine wasn't working, so I had to purchase ice at a nearby gas station. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay here. Wish it could have been longer.

I cannot say enough great things about Alpine in Cooke City! Chad the manager goes above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable. The place is located in the middle of Cooke City with an array of rooms to stay in. The WiFi is great, as Cooke City does not have cell service. The laundry room is clean and free for guests! The northeast corner of the park has amazing wildlife, fishing and getting away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the park. We stayed at the suite next to Miners restaraunt and the building is 128 years old! Highly recommend to enjoy all things Yellowstone and taking things at a relaxed pace.

Inside was spacious and clean enough. Excellent access to the park. Outside stairs and porch access need a lot of maintenance, Landscaping needs tidying up.

Quiet and peaceful. Very nice staff, with sensible advice about how to visit Yellowstone park. Beautiful views from the hotel and town. Nice remodel of an older motel in a tiny mountain town. Excellent laundry facilities at the hotel. Tasty dinner of bison steak at the Beartooth cafe. Great value and perfect location. For us.

We arrived late only to find the front office closed, but the staff had our keys to the room in the box marked "keys" by the front door. An employee of the hotel helped us with dining advice. We were told to park right next to our room and all was great.

Very clean property. Chad was very personable, and check-in was a breeze. My brother and I had two dogs and stayed in the 2 bedroom suite. I did get my exercise walking the 15 stairs, but the suite was very clean and spacious. Dining and shopping are within walking distance, but then again, everything in Cooke City is!! I would not hesitate to stay here again, and I highly recommend Alpine Motel!

Lack of curtains on windows and doors. Didn’t feel secure with locks on doors. Couch in living room was not comfortable to sit on. Stairs handrail was loose.

Cute little hotel! Basic amenities and perfect for an overnight stay. Rooms are decent sized, bed was very comfortable. Everything was clean and the shower had excellent water pressure. Fresh coffee made by the office in the morning was a plus! Easy check in and out. We love this little town and always stay one night in the area.

Great spacious room, but a generator or something began running outside of bedroom window and the light from the gas station was visible through the curtains. Fortunately I travel with a sleep mask so that was resolved.

Room was very small. Double bed was not comfortable for two. Three half sized pillows for two people caused stiff neck and two days of pain. Pillows were bad. Quiet room but very rustic.

Chose this place because it’s 5 miles from the NE entrance to Yellowstone and really like Cooke City as it’s not nearly as busy and glittery as West Yellowstone. Rooms are small and dated but the place was built in 1936, so you expect that going in. Internet was virtually non existent but that is pretty much standard for Cooke City. And besides, you’re at Yellowstone NE entrance. Liked the hotel, great shower head pressure and the room was clean and bed comfortable. Miners Saloon right across the street is a pretty good place for dinner. Be aware, it can be a bit of a wait to get pizza and food as they can be really busy. But worth it.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, room is small but we are only there to sleep, so that wasn’t an issue for us. The shower was absolutely fantastic, water will get hotter than we can stand ( which has never happened and was amazing), this would work great for the sledding folk, and shower had fantastic pressure. We loved it here and will definitely recommend

Staying in a small mountain town I was impressed with this option. WiFi, direct TV, and a microwave is better than what I get in the park. Everything we needed as we explored the Northeast corner out the park. Town is an easy walk with enough food options for a short stay. If you are worried about AC, pack a portable fan.

The staff was able to get us checked in early. There was no AC it was pretty warm during the day. and I could hear the people above us all night long.

Great location - easy access into the park for viewing wildlife. The check in was easy, the rooms were clean and spacious. The only caveat - bring earplugs as the walls are very thin. OR ask for a 2nd floor room if you are in the two-story building or you will not sleep. Even from just normal walking around of the person above you. I would stay here again but would insist on a 2nd floor room.

An acceptable motel option in a very small town. Room was a little dated but clean and confortable. I booked a room way bigger than needed for a couple. It slept 8 with a full kitchen. We'd stay here again but book a smaller room.

A very nice hotel - it feels nostalgic/ old fashioned (but in a good way!). Clean and comfortable. Great stay for passing through town. The only thing we didn't like was that there was no air conditioning, which is unfortunately common throughout the area. We would have kept the windows open but there were no screens and lots of mosquitos. Despite the room being warm, we slept comfortably.

The town experienced a power outage at 8:15 p.m. We tried to reach the front desk but no one was there to help! We were told by a local that "this happens all the time." If this is true, then perhaps they should have a back-up generator on site. This was likely a problem for the folks who didn\'t have any food or flashlights with them as everything in town had closed down.

Beautiful surroundings - woke up to a light snow flurry and took lots of pics. So close to Yellowstone - gave us a full day to enjoy.

It was clean and the beds were comfortable. They are right in the middle of the little town and tou can walk to get food or look at the shops. Also they have a nice sitting area outside where you can enjoy the beautiful mountain view. Others had mentioned about them not having AC but it wasn't a problem at all. We were there in August and it was almost 80 during the day. Our room was comfortable when we check in around 5 and we slept great and didn't feel hot at all.

We were there in August and it was almost 80 during the day. Our room was comfortable when we check in around 5 and we slept great and didn't feel hot at all.

We got there after the reception shut down and no one was in the office when we left, so we did not interact with anyone aside from when we called on the phone to let them know we'd be there just after the reception hours. Room was a little hard to find since it was inside and upstairs, but it was comfortable and had what we needed, although very basic. Very close to the Northern entrance of Yellowstone.

Was right outside of north east entrance to Yellowstone we got to enjoy Lamar valley as well as the scenic Beartooth highway before heading over the other areas of Yellowstone, I would recommend staying here beautiful views of mountains and cute little town, the motel was very clean and I felt very comfortable

This is a bit more rustic, basic, what you might expect in an old mining town kind of stay. But it was perfect for Yellowstone. Access to the park is easy, you travel straight through Lamar Valley every day into the park. Good eating places nearby. Everything in the little town is walkable. Wi-Fi is spotty, but still enough to get by on. We would definitely stay again.

We had a good stay. We didn't expect luxury in a town of 77 people, but room was large for the two of us and it was clean. Nice guy at the desk with a very friendly old dog. Unfortunately the businesses on the side of the street with most of the restaurants were closed due to a water main leak so options were pretty limited for food, so many of us hung out on the porch outside of our rooms and had a few beers - it was an unexpected group activity. :) We did hear the upstairs guests in the a.m. but not when we were trying to sleep. A good bargain if you are needing a rest before the Beartooth Highway or Yellowstone.

It's a good property for the price. I would stay there again. A piece of advice, Bring your own food unless you're there on a weekend. Because there's nothing open except the little pizza parlor across the street. They don't open till 4pm.

Very friendly. Staff was helpful. Location was excellent for us visting Lamar Valley in Yellowston. PLENTY of coffe for the cold mornings. LOL Room dated but clean and OK. Towels and shower good Lots of hot water. Town Closes at 9 nothing open for food.

If you are visiting Yellowstone, this is one of the ideal places to spend the night, and Alpine motel was excellent for us. It was clean, and convenient. I would stay again. Coming to Cooke City in the evening and going back to the park in the morning may seem like a long drive, but you get to do the Lamar valley sightseeing twice, at different times of the day. It's worth it. Cooke city is very cute, just make sure you arrive before 8:30 pm, most places are closed for dinner after that. Breakfast options are pretty good.

The hotel accomdated for late check-in and made it simple and easy as we didn't know our time of arrival. There was a great cafe for breakfast right across the street. I will definitely stay here again, and spread the word!!

After a long day in Yellowstone it was nice to stop and rest for the night before heading back down the Bear Tooth at nighttime. This town closes up at 8:30pm and we barely got there in time to eat dinner....plan accordingly :)

Cooke City is a cute town. But the hotels in town leave a lot to be desired. We were sent a message after booking that there is NO AIR CONDITIONING. This was not mentioned in the original ad, evidently none of the hotels have AC so I wouldn't stay in this town in the hot months. We were assured that it is a "safe" town and we would be comfortable opening our windows to let the breeze in. Multiple problems with that. There's no screen on the windows to keep bugs and possibly people out. If you leave the curtains open to let said breeze in, theres a bright light right outside the window that you cant control. I'm a country girl, but who wants bugs crawling on you when you sleep? Cuz thats exactly what you'll get! (See pics!) Floor was uneven and my handicap mother stumbled going to the bathroom at night. Rooms need updated badly. But it was clean. No breakfast offered. I wouldnt stay here again.
