Double Eagle Resort and Spa

Our cabin was delightful The on-site restaurant had good food options and was a real convenience after a long drive. The couple lower scores I gave were due to two issues. We had a huge spider on the ceiling in a bedroom. I contacted the desk to send someone to help kill it since it was located over the bed and hard to reach. I was told someone would come, but no one ever did. I am 80 years old and had to stand on the bed to reach it. A safety issue for me. In the morning I discovered the microwave did not work so we were unable to fix our planned breakfast. I still enjoyed my stay and loved the environment. I would definitely stay there again.

I want to start by saying that the view at this place is absolutely amazing. The vibe is calm and zen—the pond, the creek, the waterfall in the mountains, and the friendly, kind staff all make this place worth it. However, if you pay attention to small details, you may notice some downsides. Some amenities were very old or didn’t work well. For example, the toaster was old and rusty, and the refrigerator was outdated and made loud noises that made it hard to sleep. Also, the light above the stove didn’t work, so I had to cook with very little lighting. Overall, everything looked clean, but when I wiped the dining table and the countertop, the cloth came out dirty. The floor was also dirty, and the worst part was the sofas—both were very dirty. I had to put a blanket over them so my kids could sit on them. On a positive note, the beds were nice and clean, and the bathroom was clean as well. Thank you!

Will never stay at Double Eagle again. - Our door lock would not work and I told her guy working there the first night and he said it was a keycard issue even though it clearly wasn't. He "reset" the cards and they still didn't work. My family was locked out after snowboarding all day and they had to call a maintence man to help (Sicily I think was the name of the front desk help this day who was very nice/helpful). So - we stand around for an hour as two guys try to fix the door and are unable to. So, we have to pack up the entire room that we were fully unpacked and move to a new cabin. The cabin was slightly better than where they had us originally (which was a nice upgrade) BUT THEN THEY TRIED TO CHARGE US AN EXTRA $50 PER DAY FOR THE NEW CABIN - EVEN THE DAY THAT WE STAYED IN THE ORIGINAL LOWER GRADE ROOM!!? - Also, note that that the gym and some areas do not allow kids - We went to the restaurant there and there was 1 poor server for like 10 families and we had to wait for the check so long, my wife and kids left and I stuck around until I could finally pay. - The new room we were put in didn't have coffee and was SOOO creaky and loud when the wind blew, it kept me up all night. The original room had super loud floors too. - The bedroom light flickered constantly if turned on Just overall, very disappointed and annoyed with this place. I have literally never written a review here before but I felt the need to after this poor experience.
