Great location minutes from the south entrance to Sequoia Nat'l Park. Room was clean and functional. Air conditioner kept up with extreme heat. Several places to eat nearby. Bathroom / Shower could use some updating/improvements but water pressure was fine.

The River Inn is very run down!! Hot water took 5 minutes and was never actually hot, found someones business card in the bed when i pulled back the covers, ice machine hasnt worked in years from the look of it....list goes on. Sad to say but this place is a total dive!

The gateway to the sequoia. Highly recommend The River inn. The staff are just amazing and super helpful. The room (cabin) was very comfortable. We actually booked a room and wanted to use the grill but it was not available so the put us in the cabin at no additional charge, i was able to cook right in the kitchen. We will be back as this is a great little place

We really enjoyed the location, considering it was very close to the park. It was very quiet and made for a pleasant atmosphere and there was plenty of room for parking. We truly enjoyed our stay, and would definitely like to come back.

Outdated, stained carpet floors, hair on the bed sheets, stairs going to 2nd level was uneven and falling apart. Check-in and check-out was easy/convenient. There was no internet service in town so be sure to print out directions to hotel. They do offer shuttle service to amd from the park. The hotel is way overpriced for what they offer and the condition of the hotel.

For the price and location, we were satisfied. We made the booking a few hours before as we decided to visit the Trail of the 100 Giants in the Sequoia Forest. The dated one-story motel and our room was pretty much what we expected. The room is large, with a renovated bathroom. The bathroom is on the smaller side, but the shower is very nicely tiled. Coffee pot, microwave, and fridge all worked. Picnic tables and a grill are on the premises and we were lucky to be invited to a feast.

This property was nice over priced most of the plugs in room didn't work or needed an adapter ice machine didn't work the bathroom light switch made the tv turn off no phone service only WiFi staff was friendly totem the restaurant is right nextdoor very good food it's also a small market for drinks and beers I would recommend only if you want a clean place to sleep with no frills water pressure was very good and hot also mini fridge worked well and really close to sequoia national Park less than 10 minutes from entrance.

Bathroom completely dirty. 4 people in the room and didn’t have enough toilet paper or towels. No one replenishes or cleans during the stay. Have to get keys at a different location. Will not stay here again.

Dirty, filthy old room, disgusting floor, stain bedsheets, and towels. Very limited outlet and broken light bulbs. Dirty air conditioning filter.. broken microwave. Dirty refrigerator.. broken door knob, outdated shower door and faucet. Definitely never come back and now recommended to anyone to stay at this filthy place. Charge more than what was listed when check in.

There were mice in the room. We saw them behind/under the TV cabinet. Upon further inspection, we opened the 3 drawers of the cabinet and found feces in an abundant amount in all 3 drawers. We immediately left the room and cut our stay short.

This property was in the perfect area in a cute little town, but it has not been updated in a very long time. The room smelled terrible and the towels smelled and appeared to be dirty. The beds and bedding were adequate. The drop off box was not secure when we checked out and anyone could’ve come in and taken those keys.

This place was awful. Bugs in the windowseal, the carpet was old and dirty, the sink drain rusty, and the floor of the shower was black and covered with mold or something. We didn't dare step inside. The bedding was very old and the spreads had holes. I didn’t want to walk on the carpet without shoes. This place needs a complete overhaul from top to bottom to be habitable. They should have paid us $130 to stay there.

They give us a room "ready" but it was trash on the floor, bathroom sink dirty, toilet dirty towel on the floor no towels. They "clean" right away but it was that a quick clean. Never give us clean towel. Ligths by beed dont work. Well just for sleep with no options ill said ok. To enjoy a trip i don't think so.

Find another place to stay. This motel is NOT acceptable. We found mice droppings on the floors and shelves, it was clearly not vacuumed or cleaned prior to our arrival. The silverware was stuck to the bottom of the drawer it was in because it was not clean. The walls and ceiling were peeling and the water coming out of the kitchen faucet was milky and not clear. This place is very expensive because it's near the entrance to Sequoia National Park but honestly I wouldn't have paid more than $25 a night for a place in this condition. The only good thing I can say is that the staff seemed friendly. But trust me, do not stay here (unless they lower their prices to $25 a night.)

It is old . Two windows were nailed down to the frame so they can’t be opened. Shower was dripping, I couldn’t sleep the second night. WiFi very spotty, no reception most of the time I was at my room. Had to go out to get reception. Bed was nice and TV programming was good enough to spend the afternoon watching it.

We stayed in no. 11. That’s all I can address fairly. We had no soap or shampoo, there is only one room air conditioning in the living room and none in the bed room. The couch could not be sit on comfortably. There were absolutely no utensils or plate yet there was a store and microwave. There was no end tables to put you beverage on and the table chair had one leg broken, The fan in the bed room sleeked at night. Be prepared to pay a service fee forr using a credit card. We wanted to pay by cash for that reason but they don’t accept cash! The location was good though.

The showerhead in the bathroom kept leaking, thats my only minor gripe with the stay. Otherwise, a very nice place to stay for a trip to Sequoia NP.

I stayed one night and, since none of the doors in my room had a dead bolt, I worried about my safety. I have seen the chairs in a better condition by the curb, than what I had in my room. The shower was constantly dripping water. None of the draws were ever cleaned or so it looked. The fridge though was full size and worked well.

There was a nice view outside the window, the receptionist at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming. At the office, they provide dining options within 10 minutes of the property, which was very helpful considering the lack of service in the area. I would recommend bringing inside slippers, the carpet area in the top floor felt like it wasn’t frequently vacuumed.

This place was fine. Very basic. I had a giant suite I guess you’d call it. It was located behind the main office. Had a kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom. It was clean and comfortable for my needs.

Property was fair, but when I tried to check in they were trying to tell me they over booked and was trying to send me to another hotel although I booked a month ahead. When I confronted her all of sudden they had a cancellation. They had towels that I wouldn’t use as a rags, their bed was so springy, slightest movement would shake and rattle.

I booked and paid on Expedia; the front desk still charged my card when I checked in. I thought it's just a deposit, but was not refunded after I checked out. I waited many business days, still no refund. I called the hotel many times, no one answered. I also messaged through Expedia twice, no reply.

Check-in opens 15:00 we arrived 15.15 and waited / called for 30 mins and no luck. Had to carry on our day with a full packed car and when checking in later at 9pm the receptionist didn’t seem to care

DO NOT BOOK here The amount you booked thru expedia app is not accepted and they will charge you a different amount on site. I do not understand how is this advertised on the app. Be careful! Do research thoroughly before booking. There is nothing that expedia can do. As for the room/ property, it should be rated as a motel, not an inn. Their check-in time is 3:00 PM. That is literally 3:00 PM. If you come in 30 minutes prior so you can check with the customer service, there is no one in the office. You’ll have to wait in the hot car until someone will come to the office by 3:00 PM. So plan your travel accordingly. The sheet was dirty, bedsheets showed hair underneath the pillow and there were crumbs around. Dust was all over the vanity area.

Check in did not go smoothly. Limited phone reception and clerk did not arrive until many attempts to contact them. The number listed on the door to the office is not te correct contact number. Was a very frustrating check in experience.

Didn’t leave the keys at property had to collect from a place which was 7 miles away. We didn’t have signals and it was so messy to do all that at late night in pitch dark

Super close to Sequoia National Park entrance. Very old motel but it was not dirty inside the room. Plus were the fridge, microwave, and ice machine. Very weird check in after 9pm. You have to stop at the Western Holiday which is about 10 minutes south of River Inn. Good thing I called the inn at 3pm and the lady told me. I called all day but no one picked up til around 3pm.

Location to Sequoia Natl Park was great. It was a long way to Kings Canyon not convienient at all. The room was clean but very dated. The electrical outlets did not work next to the sink with microwave.

This place was so cute. My husband and I stayed here for just one night but we enjoyed the convenience to Sequoia National Park. It was literally minutes to the park entrance! There was a little convenience store with a deli in it next door that we walked to for takeout dinner. That food was delicious. This place is an adorable little gem.

We were glad to stay at The River Inn as it was just at the foothills of the Sequoia National Park. There was Totem Marketplace next to the inn and it was awesome. The staff was amazing, their food was delicious and had a huge collection of souvenirs. The highlight of our stay was sighting a black bear cub on the property.

I liked that this property was safe, quiet and reasonably priced. It was also nearest the park as far as motels went. I liked that there was a little market next door for coffee and good breakfast each morning. The heater was loud and hard to get dialed in, but other than that, it worked fine.

It was very close to sequoia national park. The price was reasonable. Great little cafe next-door. Not many amenities. The bed was fine. Sheets were rough. Toilet wiggled badly. The shower was very difficult to regulate and then shut off. The coffee carafe was dirty. With a little effort, it would be a nice place to stay. The place was older and a little worse for wear.

Could be cleaner but it had just what I needed. The restaurants near by were really good and there’s a market/deli next door. View was nice, plenty of parking and just 5 minutes from the park entrance. Great location.

I liked that it was simple, clean and rustic. The man at the office was very friendly and accommodating. I didn't Ike that the places to eat were so far away, however the pizza we had was very good. I noticed though that the prices were too high. Overall, our stay was satisfactory .

Our room was nicer than expected, especially since the outside looks very plain. Two comfortable beds, microwave, and refrigerator. Less than an hour drive to the Giant Forest Museum. Options for food are limited but the town has a few restaurants plus an ice cream shop (Reimers).

I read the reviews before booking, no surprises found knew what was getting beforehand. Happy with the stay. It was a comfy bed, yes bedding was older. Towels could have been better. If you leave food out you will get the attack of the piss ants. Its definitely a more affordable place vs others in areas. So keeping that in mind its a great place to stay if you are just bedding down for the night. Google reviews are pretty harsh for this place. It was not a disappointment at all. Definitely a pay for what you get. Staff was friendly. Amenities? Well micro and fridge in room. What else are you looking for? Its so close to south entrance of Sequioa NP and that makes it well worth the cost for me.
