Been upgraded since our last stay. New bathrooms fitted out, fresh bedroom carpet. Always spotlessly clean anyway. Breakfast great and barman on in the evening was very pleasant and helpfully, see you next year. If you are not eating in the hotel in the evening, highly recommend The Waterfront restaurant.

We were there to see friends and to celebrate my husbands 80th Birthday. I got a call from a friend on Sunday afternoon, saying she had phoned the hotel on the Monday before and asked them to put a bottle of wine in our room for his Birthday. She also left note saying who it was from and to wish him happy birthday. They said they would call her back, which they didn't. We got back to our room late afternoon and the wine was there with no note. Fortunately she had phoned to tell me, otherwise we wouldn't have known who it was from. It was a bit disappointing from the hotel point of view.
