Highly recommend Lilac Inn. Perfect location in beautiful neighborhood close to the center of Brandon. Breakfast was delicious; room was lovely; numerous common rooms with games, books, and videos to enjoy; both Inn and grounds beautifully maintained; owner and staff friendly and very helpful.

We enjoyed our one night at the Inn. We relaxed on the front porch in the morning, enjoying the flowers and landscaping. Behind the Inn is a large garden/park area that we did not have time to explore but it looked very nice as we walked though it from the Inn to the parking area. The breakfast area was bright and comfortable. The breakfast options were just right for us. Our room on the second floor was spacious and well-decorated. We would have preferred a walk-in shower instead of the tub/shower combination due to the height of the tub. The neighborhood was pleasant, just a short distance to the center of Brandon.

My mom and I stayed here as part of our road trip through New England and it was absolutely delightful! The room was so cute, and the breakfast was nice. The grounds are pretty and there is a nice area to relax on the porch. They had a library too. Everything was just so nice. I wish we stayed longer than 1 night. Highly recommend!

A FANTASTIC historical Inn from which to explore central VT! The staff is welcoming and friendly, the rooms clean and spacious, and the breakfast delicious!! Wonderful shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. A beautiful place to hold a wedding, event or just to stay and relax for a few days. We HIGHLY recommend The Lilac Inn!!!

Enjoyed our stay until we got home and both of us found bug bites... Still uncertain what these bug bites are. The property is relatively clean but there is mold on the bathroom ceiling and a deep clean is certainly needed as there were minor stains on the carpet and scuffs on the wall. Breakfast was made-to-order and delicious!

I really liked that my room and property were very clean. Breakfast was great and coffee machine in hall was very convenient. The big downside was the shower. Both days I would immediately loose hot water and freeze, then suddenly get it back and burn myself. Not enjoyable at all. And for $300 a night I do expect to have an enjoyable shower.

Absolutely love the property inside and out! Our room is large, beautiful, and the bed is so comfortable.Exceeded my expectations; wish we were staying more than one night! We have two "complaints" - the fragrant smell in our room was overpowering & nauseating, and then whatever was being cooked downstairs smelled all the way up to our room on the second floor, and not in a good way unfortunately.

It was a very nice overall experience with beautiful grounds and a lot of character. If WiFi is super important to your stay be aware that you may need to use it in the lobby as our room was a distance from the router and was weak on signal strength.

The staff was very accommodating and the room was lovely. It is an older building so it has some quirks like an older bathroom…perfectly functional, but it is older. The bedroom was wonderfully spacious and very comfortable.

The Lilac is was beautiful, charming and quiet! I stayed in Room 9 because I wanted a shower. It was very private with its own hall once you entered the room. The mattress, sheeting and pillows were extremely comfortable and inviting. The breakfast was delicious as well. I will certainly come back!

Maybe I just don't know how Bed and Breakfasts truly work, since this was my first stay at one. But when we arrived, no one was there, our room key was left on the check-in desk with a note that told us breakfast time and wi-fi code. There was a number to call if we needed something and it said they were just running errands, but we never saw anyone until breakfast the next morning. It turned out every restaurant in town was closed on Mondays, we had to go miles back to the last town, it really would have been nice to have a staff person to ask for recommendations. I thought part of the charm of a B&B is supoosed to be personalized service, but I got more welcome from my $100 a night motel the night before!

We had a very relaxing and comfortable stay at the Lilac Inn. The team here was accommodating and kind., the rooms clean and the breakfast was yummy. Brandon is a nice town with a picturesque New England feel which is fun to walk and experience.

We enjoyed our one night at the Inn. We relaxed on the front porch in the morning, enjoying the flowers and landscaping. Behind the Inn is a large garden/park area that we did not have time to explore but it looked very nice as we walked though it from the Inn to the parking area. The breakfast area was bright and comfortable. The breakfast options were just right for us. Our room on the second floor was spacious and well-decorated. We would have preferred a walk-in shower instead of the tub/shower combination due to the height of the tub. The neighborhood was pleasant, just a short distance to the center of Brandon.

The most positive things about my stay at The Lilac Inn were the staff… all very sweet, attentive, and accommodating. The property certainly gives you that historic Vermont feel! The Beautiful breakfast room and gardens, along with the kind staff were the highlights. The property owners could enhance their patrons stay by cleaning the carpets that were badly stained, replacing tattered blinds in the rooms, cleaning draperies, replacing shower curtains that are yellowed and stained, and taking sheets and pillow cases for the beds out of rotation that are beginning to shred from being thread bare and that have visible stains on them. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if the property were deep cleaned regularly and things that needed replacing were replaced regularly. I would not stay here again if the property were in the same condition as I experienced this visit.

The property was beautiful and immaculate. Our room was excellent. The only challenge we had was figuring out how to safely get into and out of the high tub to take a shower. The breakfasts that were served were generous and delicious. Having coffee outside my room 24/7 was handy. We enjoyed sitting out front on the deck reading. The only thing that would prevent me from coming back is that there doesn’t appear to be much to do in the area. Nonetheless, I highly recommend this inn.
