The views were amazing, the room was lovely, the beds were comfortable and the staff was fantastic! They were very helpful in assisting us with finding things to do in the area! We attended the Story Teller event in the Pub and had a great time. It was a lovely stay! We will be back!

A full service hotel in a town/village that is very small and quaint. They have a pub and a great restaurant on site (we didn't try the pub but it looked popular.) The local water source has a lot of tannin in it so the hotel has a water station with filtered sparkling and flat water. That was a very nice touch.

A nice hotel right across the road from the water. Outside the hotel is large, brightly coloured and lovely. The rooms on the lower floor have a small patio. The rooms on the upper floor have baconies. This is a very busy hotel. All rooms on the front of the building have water views. The rooms on the back have a view of the privacy fence. Next time I'll ask for a room on the water facing side. The staff were great but hallway noise was loud. I would stay again.

Little disappointed with no kitchen/ no pub food service past 8 o’clock. I contacted the hotel 2 days prior to my stay and was reassured kitchen hours closed at 9. For this reason we headed directly there instead of getting food in deer lake after our flight. Had to find a local restaurant that was opened. Not the start to our trip I was looking for.

Staff and ammenitues were fantastic! Literally across thw road feom teh ocean, small trail down to the beach. Gazebo with benches. Restaurant upstairs was delicious! (Only had breakfast, but it was top notch!) Within walking diatance to other amenities and activities. I would absolutely recommend and stay again!

Very nice accommodations with lots of good food options in two in-house venues. Evening shows or live music in lower bar/food area was real treat, and it was not so loud that it disturbed the closest sleeping rooms.

We enjoyed a fun kitchen party at the pub and tasty cuisine with great sunset views at the upstairs restaurant. Perfect location for visiting the seemingly endless Gros Morne National Park. The water station with multiple options of filtered water was a fantastic feature. Great water pressure in the shower. Easy parking and check-in. The surrounding area has plenty of other dining options within a short walk.

The Ocean View is a motel on the main road in windy Rocky Harbor. It has a restaurant and pub, but we chose a restaurant across the street for dinner. Our room did not face the ocean, but there was a nice patio right outside. There is a room with vending and ice machines, and best of all, glass bottles to fill with a choice of sparkling, warm still or cold still water. What a great solution to wasteful plastic bottled water. The sink is in a separate room from the toilet and shower. There is no counter by the sink. The wait for breakfast in the upstairs restaurant was exceedingly long. Rocky Harbor is a short drive to Western Brook Pond in Gros Morne park.

The room was clean and comfortable and the property was well taken care of considering its age. The beds were decently comfortable and the a/c worked well. It was very quiet and easy to get a good nights sleep. I would stay here again.

Stayed for 3 nights. We decided to have housekeeping only after the 2nd night and was rather disappointed when we return to our room. Garbage bins were not emptied, coffee pouch, shampoo and body wash was not replenished. The quality of the towels remain to be desired. The service at the restaurant, however, was excellent. The dining room was very clean and spacious, food was pretty good and reasonably priced .

It is located right in the heart of Rocky Harbour. Staff were attentive and the restaurant choices (2) were either pub friendly or in the restaurant, very good choices, well presented and delicious.

Booked a “comfort “ room which was the cheapest so based on previous reviews did not have high expectations. Old decor , bed not very comfortable, nightstand only on one side of the bed. Pedestal sink so no place to put your toiletries. If you want a better experience you have to pay for it!

Property on arrival looks great. Check in was a breeze with friendly helpful staff. When we got to the room it was disappointing. Rooms are very tired and in need of updates. Pillows were terrible. Washroom was old and beat up. Sink taps spin continuously with water running. Internet isn’t even useable. While the location and dinning options are awesome the rooms needs updating. Providing secure reliable internet in 2025 is standard

Couldn’t have found a better location. We booked an ocean view room and the view from our room was amazing. The restaurant was only open for breakfast during our stay, if we came a week later in the season we could have had the pleasure of the band in the pub but despite that the Anchor Pub was great for a drink and our bartender/waitress was amazing. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the area, she gave some great tips on where to get the best views of the area. Can’t wait to come back!

First off our reservation had just arrived moments before we arrived at the hotel even though I had made the reservation through Expedia in April. Then when we got to our room there was no fridge, ice bucket, coffee for two people. We used a garbage can for ice since no buckets were available, and had to go to the front desk for our own coffee even though it was supposed to be supplied. The second day was even worse when housekeeping did not come into our room. Once again we had scrounge around for our own supplies. Later we were told that you need to leave a sign on your door if you want housekeeping to clean your room. This was by far the most expensive hotel we stayed in with the worst service. Very disappointing.

I did not get to stay at Ocean View in Rocky Harbour, because somehow my reservation that I made mid-March for a stay on July 7 2024 was given to someone else due to overbooking. Mind you Ocean View did make reservations for me to another hotel, needles to say the experience was not the same & was still disappointing😞. I guess making your reservation early is no guarantee.

Mix up at check in, I reserved in annex. Another guest with same first name was mistakenly checked into my room. This took about 20 minutes to straighten out. I feel breakfast or something should have been comped. Was there a price difference in bookings? There was no apology for the error. Upstairs breakfast crew provided great service. Downstairs pub crew seems overworked and stressed.

The accommodation was clean and comfortable. The staff on the front desk as well as the bar area were abrupt and not as friendly or helpful as we have seen at other locations on our trip.

The Ocean View Hotel is a great choice if you’re visiting Gros Morne. It’s at the heart of the harbour in Rocky Harbour and offers walkable access to two nearby restaurants, a beach, and a short hiking trail. It’s also within an hour drive of both Tablelands and Western Brook Pond, and the Arches a little farther up the coast.

Exactly as pictured , little slice of heaven in gros Morne . I had the junior suite, beautiful view and room. I ate in the restaurant and it was a delicious meal, the beet salad and lobster linguine freshly made. The pub looked fun, but I didn’t go, enjoyed by balcony and book with the sea.

Lovely view from room - very clean. Fireplace was electric not a gas fireplace - ie: no flame! Laminate floors would have been preferred to plush carpeting from a sanitary perspective. Ate dinner on 2nd floor the first night of our arrival -place was very bright and clean, but food was subpar unfortunately. Fish seafood chowder was watery- ceasar salad was brown on edges and had been previously refridgerated causing croutons to be soggy/chewy -waitress replaced it but no apology. Buns on table were warm & served with whipped butter which was appreciated :) We unknowingly stayed past closing tiime (9pm) and it was nice of them to allow us to finish our meal. Lovely view of sunsets with rooms facing the water. Exterior of hotel is lovely and freshly painted but interior is a little tired/dated.

Little disappointed with no kitchen/ no pub food service past 8 o’clock. I contacted the hotel 2 days prior to my stay and was reassured kitchen hours closed at 9. For this reason we headed directly there instead of getting food in deer lake after our flight. Had to find a local restaurant that was opened. Not the start to our trip I was looking for.

Absolutely amazing staff at reception and adjacent pub. They were so welcoming and helpful. Hotel is getting old. Too many things didn’t work or looked warned/dated. TV not working. Had lunch at pub. Great! Had dinner at dinning room. OK and fairly pricey. Had breakfast at dinning room. Lacked quality, originality and was way overpriced.

The hotel did not have power when we arrived for our 3 night stay. We’d stayed here previously and our stay was excellent. We know the power outage was not the hotels fault but felt they could have done more to inform guests. With no place to eat and everything shut we ate chips the first night. Some guests had lighting in the hall and a place to charge their phone but our end of the hotel did not. After we’d checked out (2 days early) we overheard a staff person telling another guests the restaurant would be open 5-8! Had we known this we may have stayed with somewhere to get a meal. I don’t expect this is the first ever outage therefore felt let down.
