Didn’t have breakfast as the lodge was self catering . There was access to the pool, gym, sports equipment. The lodge was lovely, warm , clean and had plenty of everything .

The property has a stunning back drop and lovely driving up the long sweeping drive. Rooms were nice, especially my club room. The swimming pool and sauna was a nice addition and breakfast good which was included. You could choose from the menu. The server at breakfast was a lovely, funny chap. Only downside really was the bistro. We just had soup as it finished serving at 8pm and we didn't arrive til 6:30pm and wanted to have a swim. Food was nice. It would have been nice to have a lounge area as a bar as it a bit sterile in the bistro and you don't really want to be sat at a dining table just for drinks. Surely you could have a small lounge area served by the bistro bar in such a large place.

Nice hotel on a site with lots of holiday cottages. Very little choice food or bar wise, menu looks great but the actual food is a little underwhelming. Friendly reception staff. Pool is alright but a little small.

It was great for the kids. Lots of fun things to do like slip n slide, go karts, slime making and float time in the pool but the villa was extremely tired with dated furnishings. Staff were always polite, helpful and friendly. Horse riding on site was super and the grounds are beautiful.

Been many times. A hidden jem. Lots of different types and sizes of accomodation. Swimming pool, putting, snooker, toddler soft play, woods, horses, rabbits, wildlife. Lovely estate for walks. Bistro. Private. Great for kids. 20 minutes from St Andrews.

Lovely stay at kilconquhar castle estate, great location for exploring the east neuk of fife with great facilities such as tennis, swimming, badminton etc. Pitty sauna wasn't in separate changing rooms but didnt stop us using it. All staff friendly and pleasant to deal with. Good banter with the bar & kitchen staff. Great Tuesday steak night offer & great choice for breakfast! Would recommend.

The castle is set in a beautiful estate and has many facilities such as sauna, pool and equestrian centre. our room was very clean and comfortable and near to the bistro where we had our evening meal and a delicious breakfast the next morning. the receptionist was very helpful and we even met the owner of the castle who showed us around the main restaurant. Naturally, as befitting a castle, it has lots of character. We only had one night but are planning on going back. The castle is nearby many fascinating east Fife villages for wandering around.

Stunning castle, with all the services (swimming pool, gym, soft play) included! Plus you can go on horse riding, excluded for the services but worth a visit. kids loved it and for grown up so peaceful.

This was our first visit to Kilconquhar Castle Estate and it was a lovely break away. Bedroom (17) was clean, modern and spacious. Staff at breakfast time, afternoon and evening were very efficient and friendly, nothing too much trouble. We used the swimming pool and sauna which were super. Our only criticism was the bed was too small (kingsize would have been more comfortable) and the duvet too heavy. We were also unable to open the window (keep it open overnight) for some reason. We will definitely return.

We stayed in room 18. Staff are lovely and very helpful. Breakfast was very nice. Plenty of cereals, fruits, toast etc and your main plate cooked to order. The reason I gave an average is the WiFi simply didn’t work and the bed smelled of urine. The room was a good size with a really nice shower room. There is a good leisure facility and plenty of grounds to walk around. Lots to see and do in the area. Ship Inn at Elsie is great for food and there is a lovely beach there. St Andrews is lovely.

Hi, we would like to make a complaint but very unclear how to do so on this app Didn't sleep either night due to the constant banging noise coming from the heating / hot water system. Reported this to the estate but were advised to contact yourselves. We have recorded the noise though the night and would like to talk to you about this. There was also a dreadful stroke damp smell throughout the building.

Wi Fi password provided didn’t work. No phone signal due to being in a remote location, hence no mobile phone usage. It also wasn’t made clear when booking that all rooms are entered from outside the building, like a motel.No sign to indicate the name of our Room, so some random guy woke us up at 8am banging on our door, thinking it was his friends room. Bedroom CH radiator didn’t work, so the bedroom was cold. Finally the room simply wasn’t worth the price point of £140 pn, as the shower tray was moldy, the leather settee had dried blue ink blotches all over it and the furniture looked as if it had come from a charity shop.

We had a lovely stay in room 16 Lochore. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfy. Lovely breakfast included. The staff were all very friendly.

We really did enjoy our stay at Kilconquhar Castle Estate. The estate is lovely and there is much to recommend the surrounding scenery and well maintained gardens. However, the decor is tired, with flaking paint on the walls of our room and the woodwork overall on the doors and in the corridor badly needs freshening up. The wardrobe runners were old, rusty and dirty. The bathroom had some mould forming on parts of the shower, however, overall it was quite clean. The shower itself looked great but was highly disappointing due to the lack of power. Barely more than a trickle and it took a long time to remove the shampoo and conditioner from my hair. I found the bed very comfortable and had a great sleep. It was very dog friendly and my cocker spaniel was delighted with his stay and his morning walk through the estate. The breakfasts were delicious, well cooked and prepared. Although we did not use them, there plenty of amenities to keep adults and children alike, entertained. I would heartily recommend this destination, whether or not, you are a pet parent.

Staff were very helpful and pleasant on arrival , also throughout our stay The accommodation was fantastic, very clean and everything thought about! It was a bonus to have breakfast which was beautifully cooked Facilities was too much for our overnight stay , but will be going back x

We booked into garden suite 4 which was big enough for 6 guests so with 2 of us there was plenty of space to spread out. It was perfect. Apart from the fun on the first evening when we didn’t follow our instructions correctly and were in the wrong part of the estate, apologies to anyone whose CCTV caught us going around in circles, getting to and fro was very easy. The apartment was well looked after and had everything anyone could possibly want or need. The restaurant staff were all helpful and pleasant and the food very tasty. I enjoyed the Cullen skink while the husband’s favourite was the mussels he had for a starter. Overall a great weekend spent watching the Women’s Open Golf at St Andrews then returning cold and disheveled to get warmed through and having a drink and a meal in comfortable surroundings!

Great stay lovely restaurant very comfortable room I was disappointed that the entire castle is converted to rooms - I was hoping there would be check in or a nice original lobby or reading room We accessed our room from outside at a newer addition so we did not get a castle feel.

Bed was quite short. Tv sticking into headroom if using coffee making facilities. Bed linen did not cover the mattress at one side. Modern enough room with lovely bathroom. Overall just lacking. No way would you think you were staying in a castle. More like a motel door opens outwards onto courtyard.

we absolutely loved Kilconquhar Estates! The only negative we found was the poor water pressure. Not a big deal. Everyone on the staff was very friendly, helpful, courteous, and would go out of the way to make our stay fabulous. The estate food was top notch. The villa was more than perfect, we felt like royalty! The villa was spacious, comfortable, and perfect for our family. Thank you for the perfect stay in Scotland. I hope we can come back some day

We stayed in a self catering cottage which was very spacious. The hotel had great facilities and the staff in the bar and in the reception were lovely, couldn’t do enough to help. Would definitely recommend it

Check in was easy. The staff was very nice. Main reception said we could get something to eat at the restaurant at 11:30 AM - not true. They did not open for lunch until noon. The rooms were spacious. There was a loud party in the private dining / party area. Luckily they got more quiet around 10 PM. Breakfast was good.

When we arrived at our apartment unit one of the bedroom 2 windows were covered with about 50/60 flies inside on the glass and the window in the ensuite bathroom was covered with loads of fly's when I went to report it the manager eventually came to speak to me no apology and tried to say it was just because of the hot weather I said can't be as the bedroom next door was fine she was very rude and arrogant considering she hadna even seen what the room was like herself,they sent maintenance guy up and his first words when he saw in room was bloody hell you can't stay here something as died around that area and we will sort you out with something else but when he went back to see manager she couldna even come out to speak to us she just sent out a junior staff member to say nothing they could do and were fully booked so no other units in hotel or in any of the lodges spread round the grounds which I found surprising as the place was very quiet with not many people going about and nobody using the swimming pool and leisure facilities,no apology again ,terrible customer services

The staff really make Kilconquhar a wonderful place to visit. Our stay began with the lovely welcome at reception. Every member of staff was friendly and helpful. We ate both breakfast and dinner in the Bistro and could not fault the food or service. The grounds are looking beautiful and we had a few putting competitions. Wouldn't change a thing. Well done!

Was amazing we booked just for a room for the night and was upgraded on arrival to a suit. Was amazing gutted it was only just one night. Food was great and service was excellent.

Lovely relaxing stay in the hotel with family. We were staying due to a family wedding in Anstruther. The staff were very welcoming and went above and beyond to make our stay special, especially Carragh (sorry if that’s the wrong spelling) and Clare. Thank you so much, we will definitely be back !

We dined in the Lindsey room on the Wednesday. We’re disappointed with the service. Ordered a bottle of wine and when it came it was just put in the table. Wasn’t offered a taste to see if it was ok.we had to pour it ourselves.Were only offered a set menu although an A La Carte menu was on Website. The Bistro on the other hand was excellent for both breakfast and dinner the second night. Staff there were very friendly and helpful. Minor point in rooms was lack of information re Wi-fi and facilities. They were mentioned on check in but a reminder would have been helpful.

It was great for the kids. Lots of fun things to do like slip n slide, go karts, slime making and float time in the pool but the villa was extremely tired with dated furnishings. Staff were always polite, helpful and friendly. Horse riding on site was super and the grounds are beautiful.

Beautiful grounds. It’s like staying in a castle / stately home. We stayed here while settling our daughter into the university of St Andrews so didn’t get to hang around the place as much as I would have liked but it was a very nice stay.

If you are within ten miles of this hotel, why are you not booking this right now?! What a beautiful spot next to a loch and right on the bus line going up or down the coast. Wonderful restaurant and staff and very clean. Lots of activities - we were hiking the Fife Coastal Path and only stayed one night, but there were many families enjoying an entire holiday here. Nice bar, too. Indoor pool! Only one we saw during our trip to Scotland. We didn't use it but it's nice if you have kids!

We had a room in the castle, which was quite a surprise. Appreciated that and the estate surroundings that were so peaceful. The onsite restaurant had a sufficient menu and breakfast, off the menu, was delicious.

We loved the pool and kids' activities. The property is lovely with lots of walks. Room was nice and spacious. One problem at the bar/restaurant. We were told to order food before 8:45pm but when we tried at 8:30pm the bar man said kitchen was closed. They should get their times straight. We had to drive to town for food. Otherwise, great accommodation.

Shocking … fawlty towers is better run No breakfast staff till 830 … so told me they could do a takeaway breakfast, which consisted of chicken sandwich salt vinegar crisp and bar of chocolate…BREAKFAST!!

Very welcoming and friendly staff. Room is great but a little tired in places but it is very clean and tidy. The grounds are beautiful with lovely walks.there is a play park in the trees, tennis courts, frisbee golf and putting. There is also a small soft play room for under 7’s. The swimming pool and changing rooms are very clean with towels provided. Breakfast is served in the restaurant. You order from a menu rather than having a buffet breakfast. The staff again were welcoming and friendly. The hotel is in a good location,close to St Andrews, Anstruther and Elie. We will definitely return.

We turned into the drive and as we approached the castle it was a real wow moment. The disappointment was that check In for our room was at the leisure centre desk, I so wanted to walk up the steps of the castle and take in the atmosphere. Saying that the staff were all very very friendly, courteous and loved petting our dog. The food in The Bistro was amazing, we arrived on steak night and it was cooked to perfection. The grounds were very peaceful to walk around, very well maintained. We will definitely come back and book a castle room
