Hotel du Lys

Småt men godt, super hyggeligt og ja småt. Elevator kan akkurat rumme en lille person og en kuffert så man skal ikke lide af klaustrofobi. Bestemt ikke egnet til gangbesværet og morgenmaden var meget skrabet. Men når det sagt så havde de charme og emmede af Paris - super lokation.

Very quaint, rustic hotel in heart of Saint Germain des Pres. Creaky stairs, tiny rustic rooms, clean bathrooms. Excellent breakfast. Old world charm.

I spent 3 nights followed later by a single night. The hotel is in an excellent position, near to the Odeon metro and is excellent value for this location. On both occasions the rooms were clean and comfortable if a little basic. The continental breakfast provided sets you up well for the day. The staff are friendly, helpful and obliging. The lift is the narrowest I have experienced, with space for only one person (with a small backpack) and a single piece of luggage. It adds to the charm of the place which is decorated in a late 19th century style. Recommended

Le personnel est très gentil, l'hôtel est très bien situé, il a du charme mais les chambres sont un peu vieillottes. Il n'y a pas de frigo, pas de bouilloire. Sinon les chambres sont propres et le ménage est fait tous les jours.

C'est fou ce qu'une photo peut etre differente. Chambre tres petite et viellotte avec de vieux équipements et un tapis tres défraîchi. Le petit dejeuner est bien mais l'acces aux chambres difficile par escalierben colimaçon et ou mini mini ascenseur ;) 1 soir suffit.

The hotel was just okay. Thankfully we were given a bigger room by mistake but they allowed us to continue in the room as probably there wasn't any booking. We thank the owner for letting us continue there.🙏 Pros Near to station and train service. Good choice of Restaurants in walking distance. Cons No view. The actual standard room is very tiny and the elevator feels like you are going in a coffin. No kettle or tea provided in the room. Suggestion Best for 1/2 day stay and I would suggest to go for the bigger room as probably that would be better.

Except for the location, the hotel has some major issues. I don’t recommend it because the carpet is filthy and clearly not clean. There was used toilet paper left from the previous guest, and the towels are old. Additionally, there were no paper towels in the room, and the overall cleanliness was disappointing. The hotel really needs to be renovated. On a positive note, the staff are friendly.

Location was great. Walking distance to charming streets with restaurants, convenience stores, Metro, Notre Dame, Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, Pantheon, etc.. To me it wasn't very clean or comfortable. The fridge didn't work and there was no air conditioning at the time, so it was quite warm in the room during the day and evening. Breakfast was good, there was always a place to sit and the staff kept everything clean and good. Location and breakfast are what kept the stay acceptable.

Si vous aimez les logements anciens avec poutres apparentes, escaliers avec tapis, petite chambre confortable et douillette, cet hôtel vous enchantera. Salle de bain avec douche et toilettes. Propreté sans défaut. Petit dejeuner à la française classique : croissants, pain grillé, beurre, confitures et fruits. Personnel souriant et serviable. Si vous aimez les hôtels avec grand hall d'accueil et chambre moderne, passez votre chemin. En plus, l'hôtel est situé entre les station St Michel et Odeon, dans le quartier Latin à 10 minutes à pied de l'ile de la Cité.

Ottima la posizione centrale a due passi da Notre Dame, gradevoli gli interni stile vintage, per il resto spazi angusti , corridoi stretti,un ascensore di 30 cm quadrati non certo consigliato per chi soffre di claustrofobia, nella camera si avverte puzza di polvere probabilmente dovuta alla moquette.

Super hyggeligt, gammelt og charmerende hotel. Vi boede på 4 sal på et hyggeligt værelse. Obs. stejle/skæve trapper og elevatoren er ualmindelig lille, så den havde vi ikke mod på. Vinduerne var ud til en lille baggård/skakt. Men de kune åbnes, og der var kig til himlen. Umiddelbart var der ok rent, men under sengen lå der div. skrald. Morgenmad er simpel, men ok. Brødet var friskt. Rolig gade, men super centralt og masser af caféer mm. i området. Alt ialt fint og hyggeligt hotel.

Wonderful stay! Very clean, pleasant and helpful staff. Staff were all bilingual in English. Breakfast was a great plus. We will return if in Paris again.

Hôtel bien placé et bon petit déjeuner mais odeur d’égouts très très forte dans la chambre sans possibilité d’ouvrir la fenêtre sur cour dans la nuit à cause du bruit des climatisations dans la cour. Impossible de dormir à cause de cette odeur.

Double room ($240) was extremely small and grubby. Good location.

This is a wonderful hotel with feelings of centuries gone by. It was built in 1650 or thereabouts. That makes the rooms very small of course. Even smaller was the lift. I could not place my two feet in line of one another. The elevator was simply to narrow!! Not for claustrophobics. The room had wooden roof beams probably from the 17:th century. Extremely charming. The breakfast was moderate and served individually for each client. All in all a wonderful hotel for those who love history and culture.

Every room seems to be unique and my teenage son and I were fortunate to get one with two separate beds in opposite ends of the room shielded by a wall, which was nice for a bit of privacy.

Very Small room, lack of guest facilities

Das Hotel ist sehr unmodern eingerichtet und und hat kleine Zimmer mit schiefen Böden. Genau das macht es so unglaublich Charmant! Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt, würden es jederzeit wieder buchen, und empfehlen es gerne weiter!

I was given a room between floors ? Very low ceilings and very small. Very out dated , especially the bathroom and the free breakfast is a Croissant and some cheese selections

Very sweet little property. I really love they tries to hold onto some of the historical elements of the site. Very convenient location for metro and walking with lots restaurants and sight-seeing near by. I will say yhat the room I got was not soundproof, despite being advertised as such. And the room I got was very very small for the nearly $200 I paid.

Il personale è stato molto cordiale e gentilissimo. L'hotel si trova in posizione strategica vicino alla fermata della metropolitana (odeon). La colazione è ottima.

Amazing neighborhood. Hotel is a converted Parisian mansion. This is not an American hotel. Great croissants in the morning, supermarket around the corner and amazing restaurants all around. 2nd time staying here , the first being the 10 years ago and I will still go back. Staff kind.

I reserved and paid for the small twin room I had last year. They gave it to someone else and I was forced to stay in a room (in the lobby next to the luggage closet) that evidently no one wanted as it is very noisy in here. Definitely not a rokm anyone would want. I do NOT recommend this hotel any more and will NOT stay here again.

I had a memorable stay here. The staff is wonderful! I speak French but the reception staff also speaks multiple languages including English. The petit-déjeuner was included and was just the ticket to start off the day - a nice light French breakfast but if you want larger fare or outside dining, there are excellent restaurants around the corner. There are also faster food restaurant options within a short walking distance and the staff speak multiple languages - English is typically the fall back language. The Saint-Germain des Pres area is very safe during the day and in the evening. The most dangerous thing I encountered were the tourists on bicycles - look out for them!😬I was there for 4 weeks and I came and went at all times of the day including in the wee hours of the morning and saw nothing concerning. There is also a nice grocery store around the corner and you can get most everything you might want - including fresh baked goods and even a small salad bar. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the Seine and Notre-Dame. The Louvre is about 15 minutes and is a beautiful walk along the Seine and you can browse the wares of the bouquinistes on the way!

Charming building with historical architecture and fixtures intact. Air conditioned room and they have an elevator. Breakfast served daily. Location ideal for me. Metro nearby, safe, walkable neighborhood. Comfortable bed.

I loved that this was close to the metro and big attractions like Notre Dame. I felt very safe and the croissants at breakfast were delicious.

Fabulous medieval hotel in the heart of the Latin Quarter - close to everything! Loved my stay!

It has a rustic charm and a stellar location. It may not be luxurious but it was perfect for me and at a very good price.
