Tonosawa Onsen Yamano Chaya Ryokan

An immersive ryokan experience right down to wearing a Yukata around the property. Super attentive individual service. I had one very sweet woman assigned to me while I was there. The private onsen was amazing with a view of the mountains. And the public onsens were wonderful as well. I did the dinner and the breakfast which was an unbelievable amount of food and experiences in and of themselves. The dinner was 11 courses served over 2 hours. I was adventurous and got the turtle as my seafood dish. It was good if strange. Breakfast was 3 courses and featured a wonderful onion soup, a savory porridge, and a delightful grapefruit and tofu dessert. I couldn’t have been happier with my stay. I highly suggest it if you want an immersive authentic Hakone spa experience.

Absolutely amazing experience. From the moment we arrived to the property to the time we checked-out and left, 10 out of 10. Clean, well-kept, phenomenal staff that catered to all your needs, delicious food, and absolutely peaceful/restful. Highly recommend if you are looking for a traditional ryokan experience in Hakone. Don't miss out on the kaiseki either!!
