Den Röda Båten

We were allocated a room on the boat next door to the red boat. Good points:- Cheap Not to far from public transport Negative points:- No additional facilites like common space if you are not on the red boat itself Only 2 toilets, which were up staris, so they layout was not great. The showers were very small, better use could have been made of the space. Overall the stay was ok, but the layout needs some changes to make it more comfortable.

Tolle Lage und besondere Atmosphäre. Sehr freundliches Personal. Teilweise sehr eng und steile Treppen. Ungeeignet für Personen mit körperlichen Einschränkungen.

Mitt i Stockholm. Bra pris (off season). Inte för alla. Rummen/kajutorna små. Här sover man och lever Stockholmsliv någon annanstans. Trevlig personal. Helt och rent. Båten är fast förankrad och gungar ej. En svag lutning anas dock. Bra upplevelse!

Båten ligger relativt sentralt. Rimelig overnatting, meget enkel standard. Veldig greit for en overnatting. Bad med dusj og do på gangen, husk flipflops. Leirskole-følelse😁Funker helt fint, men det er som drt er

A historic boat run part a cafe, hostel, no-strings hotel. Some things come with that territory. The location is absolutely stunning. From the small open deck or the dining area … scenic vistas of central Stockholm to savor. The “street level” of “main” (red) boat is expertly decorated in a nautical theme. You can imagine yourself on a classic sailing vessel. The lower level of the same boat, much more utilitarian. Down still lovingly decorated stairs, a narrow corridor with bunk rooms on both sides and WCs at the end. Those showers/toilets are shared by the whole boat … and often occupied, especially at breakfast and bedtime. Hard to tell when locked so you keep getting interrupted by people jiggling the handle. The rooms … are basic. Below the water line, so the windows are small recessed slits. You can peak or shove a camera in there, but otherwise a narrow vision over water or at the quay. (I think the rooms on the other boat have the better views.) As basic it is, my room had a convenient bench on the water-side, a comfortable bunk with lots of storage underneath, a table and a fragile stool. A pleasant surprise were the plentiful outlets – six by my count. Breakfast was a good if standard. Staff was helpful. One thing to be aware of, despite transit maps showing Line 405 stopping nearby, and nice bus stops, it isn’t running now perhaps due to the Slussen rebuild, and staff knew nothing about it. To reach transit is a long walk to Slussen, hard w/ bags, and stairs.

Cabin got very warm as window didn't open, although there was an opening pothole in the ensuite. Staff were helpful. Access interesting with suitcases!

es ist eine Erfahrung mehr. Das Schlafboot ist eine unzumutbarkeit fuer aeltere Menschen.....es gibt keinen sicheren Halt.... der Uebergang aufs Boot war nicht Schneefrei..und kein Gelaender.ein falscher Schritt und man waere im Waser...und 100 skr fuer eine Wassersuppe halte ich auch fuer zuteuer... deswegen sind wir auch am naechsten Tag abgereist...

Staff is great and boat is funky, but it’s a boat: tight quarters, stuffy air, and, yes, it rocks a lot. If you’re prone to seasickness (like me) I do not recommend. If not, it’s fun for a couple of nights…no more.

The boat was clean and cool however i wouldnt really recomend because its very hard to get to (hills and steep stairs ) no public transport other than very expensive taxi to even get to the bus stop (20 canadian ) maybe it would be different in summer when you didnt have to drag a suitcse in sjow and ice on a steep hill. The boat you stay on is one behind the main one, it has a very narrow and steep wodden platform with just ropes to keep you from potentially falling or dropping your bag in the water. U have to stand on it to put the code in the door so its not like u just quickly pass by it. The main boat has a great ramp eith proper railing. Very cute but i csnt recomend this unless you dont have a lot of stuff with you and ate compleatly able boddied.

Our room was small but they do offer luggage storage if you want to unpack more, and have more room. Beds were comfortable. Bit more noise from being on sidewalk side. Shared bathrooms were always available. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Breakfast was really nice and worth paying for. Would stay again but would pay for one of the rooms with private bathroom as someone who has to go early in the morning! 😉

The Red Boat is not for people looking for a 5 star experience while trying to save money. It is a place to experience sleeping on a vintage/antique boat. The Red Boat offers: -Friendly staff and reception that will take the time to answer questions -Clean sleeping quarters that are designed for resting. The rooms are small, but not so small that you feel crampt. Unless you bring unnecessary luggage. -Cleaned and maintained WCs and showers -Peaceful and quiet atmosphere throughout. The place is budget, but I managed to sleep better here than many of the 4-5 star hotels I have visited in the past. I will definately return here in the future.

My partner and I stayed at this property for 3 nights. Upon arrival, everything seemed okay, but we were told that we would be on the boat behind. Not an issue. We were also told that breakfast was 99 SEK per person, per day, and decided to buy breakfast passes for us both for the days that we would be there. When we got to our room, we noticed it was small - two single beds, and not really any space for belongings (there were a few hooks, and some space under the bed). There were shared toilets and showers upstairs, again, small but okay. After the first night, we noticed that the room was wet. The ceiling was wet, the floor, and I believe it was condensation. The windows (portholes) did open, but it is November, and it was freezing. There was no ventilation for the condensation, so the floors, walls and ceiling were wet. Not a great start. We went down for breakfast (on the other boat), and this was absolutely fine. A selection of bread, meats, cheese, vegetables, fruit, yoghurt, etc. Plenty of choice for all. The walls for the rooms are paper thin. You will hear everything, and people will come home drunk at 4am and wake you up. There is no staff to police this, so good luck. Because of the noise, damp and condensation, my partner and I are leaving Stockholm tired and ill. I would not recommend staying here at all. Find somewhere cheaper

Riktigt mysigt ställe med sköna sängar, fräscha duschar och god frukost. Perfekt hotel för att utforska stan som turist, då det ligger väldigt centralt.

Very friendly & funny staff, the coziest lobby I've ever sat and read in, and a great time all around! I will never be the same after sitting for an hour or two, listening to the rain gently patter outside as I read a an old book and drank a Mariestads in the soft glow of the lamps. My wife and I stayed in the captain's cabin and loved it. Great sleep, good shower, and very clean cozy accomodations.

Toalettrum inte trevligt, dusch var golvet plaskigt, fullt av hår. Lämnade det omedelbart. Frukosten var okey, tyvärr för dyr.

Luktar mycket av avlopp o mögel på rummet. Träsäng med gammal nerlegad skumgummimadrass.

Wir hatten ein Zimmer zur Seeseite. Die Aussicht ist unfassbar schön, genauso wie die super Lage zur Altstadt. Die Betten sind leider relativ hart.

The boats were so cozy and comfortable, and everything was beautifully clean. We were made to feel at home from the moment we checked in. And if you’re lucky enough to have a cabin that faces the water, the view is extraordinary.

Mycket hårda sängar

I stayed in the admiral cabin which is the biggest room on the boat. The red boat featured on the booking is not the actual boat we stayed on, the cabin in located on a white boat next to the red boat. The cabin has amazing views and I liked it had its own shower and toilet. I slept really well in the twin (pushed together into a double) bed. The cabin has a tv, large wardrobe and coffee making facilities. Over all, I really enjoyed my one night stay here. Their could be noise issue if the cabins above were occupied by noisy guests as the cabin isn’t soundproof and people moving around the boat can be heard throughout the cabin.

Cute place but understandably (lots of metal walls) WIFI did not function in my room.

Compte tenu de nos horaires lors de notre séjour à Stockholm, nous n'avons pas pu voir le personnel, si ce n'est à notre arrivée. Mais le personnel a été très réactif au téléphone et sur Internet quant aux questions que nous avons pu poser.

Great value and walking distance to most sites ...awesome staff

Meget nedslidt. Ringe værelse. Meget støj fra andre gæster. Receptionist serverede wienerschnitzel som var helt brændt på. Receptionist kunne ikke tænde tv i tv stue så ikke muligt at se tv. Rengøring låste sig bare ind på værelset og kom ind kl 9 om morgenen uden at banke på. En alt i alt dårlig oplevelse trods den billige pris.

Super nice experience, cozy atmosphere, very clean, very warm rooms in cold winter. Kind and helpful staff. Cheap prices for good quality! Beds are a bit small but good enough for short term accommodation. Highly recommend!

Schöne Atmosphäre, schöne Aussicht auf Stockholm. Etwa 15 Minuten von der nächsten U-Bahn (Gamla Stan) entfernt. Direkt hinterm Schiff eine der schönsten Hochuferpromenaden die ich kenne.

The property is a boat, and that is unique and cool. I had a room with a private bath and shower wich were small but fine. The negative is the location of the boat. There is a very busy street/highway in front of the property and it's not easy to walk to attractions.

5 star, cheap and cheerful! Great location, with sunset spots and the underground very close.

I am very happy with my stay at the red boat. The location is perfect. We can see the boat the moment that we leave the metro station. The old town is few minutes walking. The view is amazing. Personal welcoming and happy to assist.

The place was OK for the price we paid. If you want to experience the boat/cabin stay, then its recommended. The rooms/cabins are small as its on the boat. The breakfast (10 USD per person) was good. The place is 10 min walk from the closest metro station, and walkable (15 mins) to old town and the view around the boat is amazing. Lot of dining options close by

Ligger central frukosten är det man behöver i stort sett saknade äggröra och bacon . Städningen var ok mysigt rum och skön säng .

Very cool place to stay. I had a hostel room, very affordable. And the breakfast buffet was excellent! Being able to sit on the bow of the ship to enjoy the morning coffee was a plus

Red boat è un' esperienza. Essere a contatto con acqua in una nave storica con ambiente da marinaio del secolo scorso è fantastico. La cabina è piccola ma pulita e funzionale. Ovviamente il bagno esterno non è comodo ma sulla barca è così. Colazione c'è quasi tutto perciò bene. Ottima esperienza per una notte.

This place is such a gem! The location is great. It’s an easy and quick walk to Gamla Stan. The rooms are very cozy; I loved listening to the rain on the water. We shared a shower/bathroom with others on our floor and it was clean, no issues there. Breakfast is worth the price and the dinner options are yummy. We also had a great time talking to the front desk staff each night. They were very sociable!
