The Royal Hotel

Staff were polite and attentive, done their best for the situational circumstances. Unfortunately the hotel itself was very run down which is what you don’t see in the pictures. Pool was dirty, singers were disgusting, couldn’t not use it because I felt so gross. The corridors are extremely run down and stink of sewage. The room itself was standard and it had a great view of the plane landing but noisy, the shower is small and often when trying to shower it stinks of sewage too. We had constant WiFi troubles, it would stop working, phones will not connect, the staff at the reception probably hear this complaint from a lot of guests. There are food places to eat outside the hotel, and there is a bus that takes you straight into old Corfu town for 2 euros located on the left hand side of the hotel, 1 minute walk. Overall wouldn’t come back again

Di "Gran" e "Royal" ha proprio poco. E' una struttura sicuramente datata, con camere piccole (almeno per quanto riguarda la tipologia da noi prenotata), bagni strettissimi al punto che la porta di aspre sia verso l'interno che verso l'esterno per consentire ingresso e uscita. La doccia spara acqua sul pavimento e questo crea una forte umidità. L'ascensore, lentissimo, funziona a tratti. L'assenza di un buon sistema di circolazione forzata dell'aria fa sì che per tutto il giorno vi sia odore di cibo proveniente dal ristorante. I balconi vista giardino danno su un appezzamento incolto e sporco di terreno e poco più in là vi è una strada dove posteggiano autobus turistici che rimangono con il motore acceso, quindi creando rumore e inquinamento, per raffreddare l'interno (questo accade non per responsabilità dell'albergo, ma tant'è...). I lettini a bordo piscina hanno materassini sporchi ed unti, la piscina non è in grandissima forma e l'ambiente è rumoroso a causa della vicinanza alla pista dell'aeroporto, che è però anche elemento di fascino perchè fa un certo effetto vedere un enorme aereo passarti vicino. Il personale alla reception è gentilissimo, sempre disponibile e sorridente. Il prezzo adeguato ai servizi. Questi due aspetti salvano la struttura da una valutazione più negativa-

Our stay was far from what we expected. The photos online did not match reality. While the reception looked fresh, the elevator was old and unreliable, room doors had broken handles, and our room smelled of mold. The floor on the room wasn’t clean.The bathroom was unhygienic, the shower head was moldy and old due for a NEW ONE, and the drainage flooded the floor. The air conditioning smelled bad, was noisy, and couldn’t be controlled. The pool area was poorly maintained – dirty pool, untrimmed grass, moldy sunbeds that smelled, and unclean glass barriers. The game room was dusty with a moldy odor, and even the public toilets had no locks and weren’t clean. The only positives were that breakfast was okay and the lifeguard was very kind and helpful. Overall, definitely not worth the money.

One of the reasons why I chose to book rooms at this hotel was because it has a swimming pool, though once getting there I discovered that the swimming pool is not well maintained or cleaned, showing yellow dirt marks around all the walls of the pool and loose wood tiles on the deck area. About the several things that left us dissatisfied with our stay: there were power-cuts several times during our stay, when the hotel had no light or energy for a couple of minutes. Some days the water on the shower didn’t get warm at all and was quite cold, so it was difficult to take showers. On 2 days of our 5 night stay our room hasn’t been cleaned at all, though we left the hotel early in the morning, only came back at night and left the door tag in front our room door indicating it should be cleaned. In one of the nights, a couple who was staying in one of the hotel rooms started fighting and banging on walls and furnitures, the fight was so loud that it could be heard across one full wing of the property and it took a while until the security staff resolved the issue. Lastly, the breakfast buffet was quite poor in options and in how the food tasted.

If you like to watch planes - it's the place to be. Otherwise it's just really (!) loud The breakfast isn't the best and our shower was cold. The pool costs another 5€ per visit which I don't really understand All in all a standard hotel

Rooms felt modern, clean, and comfortable with good AC, though the ceiling fan was dirty and the “garden view” was really just a road. Cleaning service was very good, and check-out was smooth. The biggest downside was the parking situation. It’s unclear where guests should park, and when I called the hotel, one receptionist was rude and unhelpful – the only unfriendly staff we met all trip. Luckily, another receptionist was very kind and even moved her own car for us. Parking often filled up because tourists visiting the viewpoint would also use the hotel spaces. Breakfast was fine, mainly English style, and the pool was nice, though the pool area and games room felt run down. The bar was rarely open and it was oddly difficult to get something as simple as two wine glasses for the room. The WiFi was extremely slow and open (not secure), Despite these issues, the hotel’s location, views, and overall room quality make it a decent choice, but improvements in service, facilities, and parking management would make a big difference

Sehr laut man hört jedes Flugzeug, auch in der Nacht. Sauberkeit im Zimmer gut & im Bad lässt zu wünschen. Pool sehr runtergekommen. Kein Hotel zum Urlaub machen, eher um eine Nacht zu überbrücken.

Unfortunate no operationing bar or food service in the hotel, not a bad breakfast though. Staff were very friendly.

Direkt neben der Landebahn gelegen, dadurch sehr laut. War uns aber im Vorhinein klar. Frühstück ist alles vorhanden, allerding ist die Qualität nicht sonderlich gut. Tische extrem dreckig (vor allem im Aussenbereich). Zimmer relativ sauber, der Aufzug und die Gänge erinnern an eine Jugendherberge.

Very clean and has everything. Close to bus. Very walkable as well. Great scenery nice staff very helpful. I found it relaxing.

We asked how to use the safe inside the room and they were unable to answer us except that the staff suitable for the question was not present. So we left our possessions unattended and it wasn't pleasant. Furthermore, this morning the cleaning ladies entered the room without knocking and without asking for permission, at a time long before the check out time in which I was getting dressed. We asked why there wasn't hot water to take a shower and were told that the other people in the facility had probably run out of it and to wait a couple of hours to try to use it again. the room was really dirty, in the "garden" it was full of dirt probably left by passers-by and the previous occupants of the room.

Die Begrüßung war mehr als unterkühlt, fast schon unfreundlich. Die Bettlaken waren mit gelben Flecken übersät, im Bad stand eine angebrochene Flasche Shampoo. Das Kopfkissen ist quasi nicht vorhanden, so dünn ist es. Wer vor dem Frühstück abreisen muss hat Pech gehabt, der bekommt einen Apfel, eine alte Orange, einen labbrigen Toast und ein Mini Stück Kuchen. Getränk Fehlanzeige, man sei ja ein Grand Hotel.

It was vety bad smell in the room. The towel had yellow spots all over. Air conditioner was making noise. Breakfast was poor too. Very loud noise from the planes.

A very nice hotel, quite far from the airport (too far to walk). Amenities in the room are good, but it is strange not to have basic tea and coffee supplies in all rooms regardless of price (50 euros a night not enough for a tea bag!). The hotel staff were very helpful with a late check out and we are very grateful to them for that.

We arrived to find we had only one bed even though we had requested two twins. The man at the desk was apologetic and polite and eventually arranged for a cot to be put in the room. The breakfast is really quite nice and the room itself was okay but a bit noisy with the runway close by and the fridge in the room squawked and squeaked.

De kamer was ok, 4 uit of 5 Het ontbijt eenvoudig, 3,5 uit of 5 was erg verbaasd wel een koelkast maar geen water in de koelkast, bij de receptie gevraagd,,, "we do not offer water" beetje bizar, en zeker in de zomer met een temperatuur van 30 a 35°,,, 🤔 we zijn 4 nachten gebleven geen lakens verschoond en handdoeken, mogelijk door een misverstand,,, 🤔 Wifi erg zwak,,, parking voor het hotel, heb ik altijd plaats gevonden, 5 uit of 5,,, het geluid van de vliegtuigen was aanwezig maar niet storend, als je daar voor kiest,,, zwembad niet bezocht,,, in Korfou genoeg stranden om van de zee heerlijk te genieten,,, eenvoudig hotel, voor paar dagen is redelijk, niet voor lange vakantie,,,

We were assigned to the annex , across the street from the main building. The room was humid , AC didn’t work properly and the bed wasn’t comfortable, Overall not a good stay . The breakfast was super good , to be completely honest.

This is an amazing hotel, we have stayed there five times and every time we go, we cannot get over the customer hospitality and service we receive. From being warmly greeted by the reception staff, clean and comfortable bedrooms, a good variety of foods and drinks and the great location of this hotel. Close to the local bus and air services, makes it an ideal base for anyone wanting to explore Corfu. Absolutely stunning scenery!

Been there for one night with my wife, booked a double bed room. Last time, my daughter decided to join us and we showed up at the hotel. Although booked they did their best to find a small bed to add to our room, and they didn’t charge us. Excellent service, well done!

The location of the hotel is excellent. Easy to get to the airport and has stunning views of mouse Island. I would recommend it. The staff is very friendly and very nice. It’s definitely not a modern hotel but it has character.

Great little hotel and great location for exploring around Corfu Town. It is located right next to the runway so expect noise, but I loved this and the location was great for amazing views, including the sight of planes coming in over the sea. Reception staff were very polite and helpful and I’d definitely stay again

This is an amazing hotel, we have stayed there five times and every time we go, we cannot get over the customer hospitality and service we receive.
