After I booked I found out this was a guest house with limited front desk hours which wasn’t what I had wanted. The first impression when we entered through the garbage (albeit clean & tidy) wasn’t great. There is an elevator but it is on floor 1 not 0. So you can’t wheel your suitcases in. Not suitable for the physically challenged. The front desk mgr did come down to help without being asked. Bonus points to him. The breakfast is limited to mostly carbs although there are packaged meats. Bottled water is readily available. Fridge is shared. No safe in the room. We returned to our room after desk hours to find a flood in the bathroom. It took a few hours for the mgr to return and fix the problem, by that time we had missed dinner. Since the kitchen is open all the time we were able to have a light supper but not what we had planned on our vacation. A regular hotel would have had maintenance onsite and a posted phone # to call. The room, hallways and breakfast room are all clean and the location is excellent. Close to the Jewish quarter (excellent food), walking distance to everything within 30 minutes, Vatican, Pantheon, Trevi, Roman Colloseum, we walked everywhere. Close to restaurants, mini marts and shopping. We did have trouble with the air conditioning staying on.
