We had made online reservations and even received the early checkin email. Upon arrival, the place was closed for renovations, but yet I was able to orignally register and checkin. It asked for ID, etc. There was a banner with a phone number to call, which I did. We were directed to come down to the Manteo Motor Lodge where we were told we could stay for the same price. This was NOT what I registered for. We were informed they had problems with the website. It sounded like a sketchy situation since the banner had the phone number of the Manteo Motor Lodge which was substandard. This left me scrambling for a place to stay. All of this was horrible business and Hotels.com should NOT be part of this. No apology, no communication. Shame on all of you since this felt like a sham and a scam. One would assume the Scarborough Inn was reopening for the season as it took my reservation.
