Staff polite and helpful. Was very disappointed that I had no information that the pool was closed for renovations. That was a key reason for choosing your hotel. Luckily we were able to use the amazing pool at the Lewes Hyatt House. Still inconvenient to drive the six miles back and forth.

The pool was not working when we arrived, which was unfortunate as our son was excited for the pool. The toilet has issues in the hotel room as well. When you would flush it, it would rise up and then flush very slowly…there was no going number 2 in there.

Honestly not impressed with this hotel that is supposed to be the caliber of a “Hyatt.” The kid at the front desk was rude and not engaging whatsoever. We learned upon arrival that the outdoor pool was only for the residences which was unfortunate. Our room was directly next to an exit door and we could hear is slamming all night and early morning. The bathrooms and beds were mediocre at best. When we checked out the same kid didn’t even ask us how are stay was. Probably would never recommend or stay here again.

Very clean and comfortable. Got there earlier than check in and asked if we could use the pool. We knew it was an indoor pool However man at desk sais im sorry but that is reserved for our condo guests! I said I called and was told we could use the indoor pool if we got there early. He said oh yea the indoor pool you can use but not the pool we reserve for our condo guests. He was very smug and I felt as though I wasn't as important as a "condo guest" Other than that it was nice

Stayed here 2 nights after Thanksgiving. Found the hotel very clean, had a friendly staff , pool and breakfast. Pretty much everything you need for a stay away. Would definitely return.

First time to Dewey and this property seemed like our best bet considering there’s not many accommodations around. The location was convenient to the beach and there were plenty of bars/restaurants within walking distance. The room sizes are large, however, I felt that ours was not thoroughly cleaned prior to us arriving. There were sticky ring marks on the side tables, the shower had left over hair and dried toothpaste on the railing, and there were stains just about everywhere from the floors to the couch cushions and bedding. The bedding was also ultra thin. Overall, I felt this stay was not worth it at a pricey $500/night.

A decent place to stay, but the parking situation isn’t ideal, and cleanliness could be improved. The carpets in our room were heavily stained. Guessing we were placed in a high traffic room, based on that factor and the noise of nearby doors opening and closing with regularity. So maybe your experience will be different? Good location, with nearby bar and restaurant. But you can probably do better.

Hotel is located near the bay, easily walkable to the beach with many restaurants within walking distance. The hotel itself is dirty! At check in, we were handed a note that housekeeping would be provided every 2-3 days and if you needed anything please contact the front desk. Carpet in our room was so dirty it was sticky to walk on. We had booked a 5 night stay, sight unseen, and had to go to the desk repeatedly for towels- none in the room on check in, to get the trash emptied, to get blankets (blankets delivered had holes) for the bed-because the AC could not be adjusted and it was very cold in the room. Housekeeping wasn’t even in the hallways so we could replenish supplies without a trip to the front desk, Housekeeping finally came on the fourth day.

Everything went very smoothly and staff was excellent. We requesred early check in so we could have a conference call and they did an amazing job accomodating that. Kudos to Kelsu at the front desk a d to the staff that got the room ready. The room was very roomy, clean, comfortable. Work out great for a family of four a d plenty of room for the baby.

The picture they show you is miss leading. When I was making reservation, I saw this picture of the Hyatt facing the water. That is what I wanted. But the back of buildings facing the water are all condos. So, we couldn't even get a room facing the water. I was pretty upset. When we got to our room I look out the window and saw the view of side of the hotel across the street. I was even more upet.

Room did not have any windows, overlooking the breakfast hall, no natural light, felt very claustrophobic. Check-in was ok, overcharged by mistake and had to correct at check out.

The staff members were very nice. Was not able to control the room temperature which led to unbearable sleeping conditions. Walls are paper thin. Guests sharing the same floor were parting until early hours of the morning.

Internet access was convenient , staff is helpful , access to everything nearby, only bad experience during my stay was the noise, you can hear loud noise such as running through the hallways and above my head at night when trying to rest!

Overall, very positive stay. However, the room doors slam shut because the handles do not turn from the outside when leaving the room. As a result, the early morning wake-ups from all rooms around you don't allow for sleeping in.

Outstanding location and atmosphere. We were just staying for one night and got a smaller room, but it was larger than expected and very nice. The amenities are great and the beach and bay views are incredible. Highly recommend!

Pros: Centrally located in Dewey Beach with easy access to bay and beach and free parking. Staff is friendly and helpful. Free breakfast was good (however we reserved just in time- it is no longer included in the stay) Cons: The walls are very thin. We were kept up and woken up both nights of our stay by rowdy guests in the halls and in the pool below. We could hear people in their rooms from our room. The staff was accommodating and we were moved one floor up and we could still hear guests in the pool and in their rooms. Both rooms of our stay had fake windows which made for a strange experience as we never knew what the weather was like. Additionally , the door in the bathroom did not properly close.

Absolutely horrendous. Sleeping on a pile of rocks would have been better than that bed. Breakfast was cold and disgusting. Management is just as horrendous as the bed. We actually ended our trip early due to the poor conditions and, even after complaining, we couldnt get a refund. Didnt even get a call from mgmt. Got a text!! Would NOT recommend this place at all. Will never EVER stay at a Hyatt again. Save your money. For the money we spent, you would expect quality service and customer service...... we are pissed off people.

They seemed very short staff. They informed us after we checked in the breakfast would not be included which is one of the reasons why we stayed. This was our third and last visit. The hotel has really gone downhill for the price their are better options.

We learned upon arrival that the outdoor pool was only for the residences which was unfortunate. Our room was directly next to an exit door and we could hear is slamming all night and early morning. The bathrooms and beds were mediocre at best. When we checked out the same kid didn’t even ask us how are stay was. Probably would never recommend or stay here again.

Honestly not impressed with this hotel that is supposed to be the caliber of a “Hyatt.” The kid at the front desk was rude and not engaging whatsoever. Loved all the staff members working there. All very nice, welcoming, and helpful. It was noisy, throughout the night I could hear doors slamming, this kept disrupting my sleep on two of the nights (out of the 5).

Staff not very helpful. We had showed up early and asked for early check in and told no, which we understand. Asked about use of pool or other amenities and told the beach is "that way" pointing in the direction of the beach. Was also told we would be notified by text when room ready and waited for 2 hours only to discover room was ready but they never texted us.

They make sure they zap your card immediately when entering with a dollar amount hold on potential damages. Yet seven days after you’ve left that hold is still sitting on your credit card. Quick to hold, yet you’re long gone and it’s slow as molasses to release. I find that offensive. I mean how much damage could two seniors do? The carpet was already ripped up at the front door. I took a picture when we entered since they seemed so concerned about you damaging anything. I have called about this hold not being released three times.

Beautiful property right in bay and a short walk across the street to public ocean/beach access. Breakfast buffet decent for complimentary and we liked the access to free beach bikes. Was also able to walk to tasty restaurants, souvenir shops and mini golf with my teens.

Great location, great staff, great breakfast, very clean and safe and dog-friendly. The businesses around it can be pretty loud at night (it's Dewey!), but the hotel itself is excellent, and is steps from the bay in the back or steps from the ocean in the front, as well as a quick walk away from amenities.

Stayed here 2 nights after Thanksgiving. Found the hotel very clean, had a friendly staff , pool and breakfast. Pretty much everything you need for a stay away. Would definitely return.

We had a pleasant stay at Hyatt Dewey Beach. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and very helpful throughout our visit, which we truly appreciated. However, I was disappointed to encounter unexpected additional fees upon arrival. I had booked through Expedia with the understanding that all charges were included, including breakfast, which was clearly listed as part of the reservation. Unfortunately, breakfast was not included, and I was also charged a destination fee that had not been disclosed during the booking process. One of the main reasons for booking in advance through Expedia was to avoid surprise charges at check-in. I would have appreciated more transparency regarding these additional fees prior to arrival. Clear communication of all costs upfront would have significantly improved the overall experience.

This property truly feels like a special place, offering a clean and inviting atmosphere right by the beautiful bay and ocean, surrounded by delightful restaurants. The breakfast at the Hyatt is fantastic, and the staff goes above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome, including our beloved four-legged friends. While it’s a wonderfully peaceful area during the off-season, it transforms into a lively family-friendly environment in the summer. Our preference is to go off season because the pups have unrestricted time on the beach.

Pros: Centrally located in Dewey Beach with easy access to bay and beach and free parking. Staff is friendly and helpful. Free breakfast was good (however we reserved just in time- it is no longer included in the stay) Cons: The walls are very thin. We were kept up and woken up both nights of our stay by rowdy guests in the halls and in the pool below. We could hear people in their rooms from our room. The staff was accommodating and we were moved one floor up and we could still hear guests in the pool and in their rooms. Both rooms of our stay had fake windows which made for a strange experience as we never knew what the weather was like. Additionally , the door in the bathroom did not properly close.

Paper thin walls, room wasn't cleaned properly, dirty linens, no natural night and a broken AC unit left the room at 75 degrees. This was one of the worst stays I've had at a Hyatt property. You'd expect alot more and better for nearly $500. The only good thing here was the staff and customer service. I wouldnt stay again.

This was a just fine hotel, but as one of the nicest hotels (and most expensive) in Dewey we expected it to be nicer. Whoever decided that hotels should have opaque bathroom doors and no bathroom fans for circulation should be punished. This is not unique to this hotel, but there's no fan, it's difficult to close the bathroom door, it's kind of sheer, and you just don't feel like you have privacy. Also we had an interior room so our window opened out over the lobby. My fault for booking that, but we were book last minute, that's on me. The pull out bed was okay for my son - no fitted sheet, but I don't think an adult could sleep on it. The bed also seemed small for a king, but was very comfy. Very nice perks in the lobby every day like free candy / drinks. We didn't take advantage of the continental breakfast but it looked average. great having covered, reserved parking, easy to get in and out of. It's also hard to find hotels in Dewey with elevators and this had that. Staff was great.

Negatives - I have stayed at this hotel for years. Last year they charged for breakfast (surprise) and then changed it to free which was nice. But now they charge for parking. 15 a day. Not good. One of the days we had been gone and our room was never cleaned. I had to call multiple times to get someone to come just to give towels and take the trash. The laundry detergent dispenser is outdated, and you need quarters which got jammed and I had to call to fix that. The dining room was hot while eating breakfast and tables are hard to get. They did not seem to want to open the meeting room to extend available seating. I also could never seem to find a luggage cart. Positives - Customer Service was great and responsive when I did have to call. The person that fixed our TV issue was good and helped a lot. Pool area was nice and towels provided for the pool. Nice to have a bar for late night cocktails. Overall, I will consider finding a different hotel to use.
