I reserved a non-smoking room, but upon checking in I was immediately met with a strong cigarette smoke odor. The room clearly smelled as though it had been heavily smoked in. I returned to the front desk and requested another room, but the clerk informed me that no other non-smoking rooms were available. After driving for approximately 26 hours straight, I was exhausted and not in a condition to argue about the room. I accepted the room and fell asleep shortly after checking in. When I woke up several hours later and had an opportunity to look around more carefully, I was shocked by the condition of the room. I observed what appeared to be blood stains on the wall, what appeared to be a large stain on the floor near the entrance, and police fingerprint tape still attached to one of the walls. It also appeared that someone had attempted to clean the large stain on the floor. In addition, the door surfaces and light switches were extremely dirty and appeared not to have been properly cleaned. The overall condition of the room was unacceptable and raised serious concerns about cleanliness and maintenance. I took photographs documenting the smoke condition, the stains, the fingerprint tape, and the general cleanliness issues. This was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have ever had, and I would not recommend this property.
