High Hill Inn

Casal idoso simpático recebe muito bem. Próximo da cidade com vista pra montanha. Frequente visita de animais silvestres que se podem ver pela janela do quarto.

We stayed at the High Hill Inn and it was one of those rare trips where everything just felt right. The owners are an older couple who are extraordinarily sweet, the kind of hosts who make you feel like family rather than a guest. They were warm, attentive, and so hospitable from the moment we arrived. We had wonderful conversations with them over breakfast, and it felt like visiting old friends. The rooms were very clean, beautifully cozy, with a bed that was incredibly comfortable. The whole place has that perfect Vermont charm, and the views were simply stunning, especially from the outside and around the kitchen area. Watching the Green Mountains from up on that hill was the highlight of our stay. And a bonus: a very cute brown and black goat comes to the front door in the mornings to graze on the milk thistle and grass. A lovely touch of Vermont charm. Breakfast was absolutely amazing, a homemade yogurt parfait with a berry compote that was delicious, plus bacon, eggs, and sourdough toast from Red Hen Baking Company in Montpelier, everything cooked to perfection. Fresh, local, and made with such care. One small note: they were doing some interior work during our stay, so if you see things stacked inside the house, that’s just part of the upgrade/renovation, it never affected our experience at all. If you’re looking for a peaceful, welcoming escape near Montpelier, this is the place. We’ll be back. Thank you Joe and Ann Marie. ♥️

This is a scam. It is someone's personal home with a spare bedroom that is available for reservation. The place is a dirty hoard that smells of urine. The owners were hesitant to refund my money when I saw the state of the hoard and decided not to stay.

This B&B is definitely at the top of the hill, on unpaved roads the last mile, with a gorgeous view from the house. We were surprised upon arrival at the lack of "welcome" signage indicating that we had arrived at the right place, no indication of where visitors should park, lack of a sidewalk or paving stones leading to the entrance, and miscellaneous stuff stacked on the front porch. Inside, in the reception area, was similar - stuff stacked all over. The room was very nice with a luxurious bathroom and spa tub, more gorgeous views, a comfortable king-sized bed, and comfy floor coverings; blinds worked well to keep the morning sun at bay. Coffee was available about 7:45 a.m. and I enjoyed it on the deck. Breakfast was fruit compote and yogurt, eggs, cooked to order, with a generous serving of bacon, and rustic toast. If you're a light sleeper, you should know that sounds from the kitchen/dining room are quite audible in the king-room until well past 10:30 p.m. I suspect it's less of an issue in rooms that are not directly above the kitchen.
