My reservation was at Mother Lode, but when I tried to check in, the office was closed and a note to call a number for assistance. The number was to another hotel up the road. I went there, had no choice but to check in. Rooms smelled so bad, electrical outlets in bathroom didn't work, no wi-fi, hardly any TV channels and no pool. Switch and bait!!

The handicap room #1 is not very accessible. No room around the bed for a wheelchair. No bars in the shower. Shower head is on the opposite wall of the bench seat. There is also no removable shower head to wash person. The water does not even reach the person. Our second room a/c did not work. They brought in a fan and said that was all they could do. The staff was kind but the actual rooms were not great. One plus is the pool is clean and beautiful.

The office was closed for renovation so we had to check in at the property just up the road. The included breakfast was a stale, packaged pastry that I got at check-in. Booked a double queen room but the beds were just full size. Both my kids hurt their feet on the exposed tack strip on the edge of the threshold into the bathroom so we covered it with a towel. The shower curtain was on the ground, the shelf in the shower had been ripped off, showing exposed concrete, and the inside of the bathroom door was missing a bunch of paint (likely from a pet that was locked inside). We were planning to stay 2 nights but decided to just drive home after a long day of river rafting rather than stay a second night. I will say the grass area and garden are quite pretty.

This property was older which is no problem if the proper maintenance is done. The ice machine did not work, the pool had a pad lock on the gate, the office was closed for renovations (which were not currently being done) and you have to travel up the road to another motel to use their office. On the positive side,the a/c was cold and since we ended up in a wheel-chair friendly room our shower was nice and roomy. Good location but we would not stay there again.

Great stay! We wanted an affordable place to stay after having a full day at apple hill and this place delivered. It was clean, comfortable and straight forward. The check in is at the motel next to it but it was super easy and literally right next door. Would recommend to friends!

The motell was under renovation and the office was closed. We had to drive to the other hotel up the road just a few feet away. When i checked in they did not have the King bed we asked for at the hotel i requested that was close to the pool but the offered us a room with two queen beds at the same price so we took that. The AC worked but it was realy loud so when it would come on every 10 minutes it would wake you up. There were construction workers staying there and at 5 am they were out side tallking very loud and they had their stereo up with the doors open not to mention the backup beepers. When there is a parking lot on the other side of the property the could make as much noise as they want.

The only good thing about this property is that there is a large grassy area for my dog to go potty. They (both the hotel and EXPEDIA should tell you that there is not just a $50 dog deposit but also it costs an additional $25 per day! Ridiculous! For $500 for 3 nights I could have stayed in a nicer location and hotel! The seals around the room door were not there, we could hear everything and feel the cold air coming in, there were ants all over the bathroom... when I told the manager, she left me a can of ant and roach spray! The beds were super soft and lumpy and the AC blew cool air, not cold at all, luckily the nights were still pretty cool there.

We were worried it would be loud because it's close to the highway but we were pleasantly pleased that when we closed the door to our room it was very quiet. It's a simple little place but it was very clean and quiet. We would recommend this motel.

Unfortunately we had to leave because the overwhelming scent of the cleaner/disinfectant that they used was making me feel sick. They claimed was using what they had to for the regulations, however they were using way to much...Ive stayed in motels before and after this and none smelled like this. Including the one we ended up staying at instead of. The room wasn't vacuumed good and there were crumbs in the entry. The curtain was broken and as I tried to move it I found the backside covered in dust and grime. The pillows were so wrinkly they looked like someone slept on them...its cheap,..for a reason.

I was traveling for medical reasons. I needed a place to sleep for the night. I chose this hotel for the price and boy did I pay. In most ways this hotel was fine, but… I cut my foot badly on a staple sticking out of the floor in front of the bathroom door. There was black mold in the bathroom on the walls above the shower, and my coffee pot did not work. it still had the coffee and water in it from the person who was in the room before me and they tried to make coffee and it didn’t work for them either. I wish I had taken pictures now, but I was hoping to get a resolution from the owner when I checked out and I did not, so here is my honest review.

Woman who checked us in was very polite. She even called us the next day after check out because we left our house keys in the room. I think we stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms which was clean, and comfortable. We come every year mid october. We will be back.

The hotel owners were ok. Housekeeping staff is very sweet. My room was still under construction and was pained a horrible color of orange. The bed was unbelievably awful.

The room door did not lock. Big gap at the door jamb. Literally did not lock. Pushed it open as I went to slide the key in. Had to change rooms. The breakfast (as advertised included) is one danish and “coffee in your room” as the woman stated at the front desk as she handed me the danish (did give me 2 of them;). She and her husband were very kind and moved my room and said that someone stayed on that room the night before with no problems.

The breakfast (as advertised included) is one danish and “coffee in your room” as the woman stated at the front desk as she handed me the danish (did give me 2 of them;). First the owner I believe was awesome . Friendly curtious and engaging. Would stay again if in the area. Units need updating and looks to be what is happening. Inconvenient to have to check in at upper facility, however with the terrible fires and changes the owners have had to go through in this area I understand we need to give them support.

The room was accidentally booked by a small child playing on my phone. I called to explain the situation to the hotel and they said there’s nothing they could do but I should contact the third party (hotels.com) and they should be able to help me out. I contacted hotels.com who then contacted the hotel again to ask for a refund and the hotel refused. I’ll remove this hotel from any future trips that’s for sure.

My room was double-booked with a suitcase in the room. The office was at another location, so I had to call. When no one answered I left a message. But no one ever contacted me and several hours later the other party showed, was surprised, and took her suitcase. I bolted the door after that. Very dated room, very dated procedures. Would not recommend this motel to anyone.

Woman who checked us in was very polite. She even called us the next day after check out because we left our house keys in the room. I think we stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms which was clean, and comfortable. We come every year mid october. We will be back.

The place is easy to find; rooms are simple, nothing fancy but clean. Bed was comfortable and they offered a breakfast but we didn't partake of it. We've stayed here before and have never been disappointed.

This property was older which is no problem if the proper maintenance is done. The ice machine did not work, the pool had a pad lock on the gate, the office was closed for renovations (which were not currently being done) and you have to travel up the road to another motel to use their office. On the positive side,the a/c was cold and since we ended up in a wheel-chair friendly room our shower was nice and roomy. Good location but we would not stay there again.

We were worried it would be loud because it's close to the highway but we were pleasantly pleased that when we closed the door to our room it was very quiet. It's a simple little place but it was very clean and quiet. We would recommend this motel.

Great stay! We wanted an affordable place to stay after having a full day at apple hill and this place delivered. It was clean, comfortable and straight forward. The check in is at the motel next to it but it was super easy and literally right next door. Would recommend to friends!

The office was closed for renovation so we had to check in at the property just up the road. The included breakfast was a stale, packaged pastry that I got at check-in. Booked a double queen room but the beds were just full size. Both my kids hurt their feet on the exposed tack strip on the edge of the threshold into the bathroom so we covered it with a towel. The shower curtain was on the ground, the shelf in the shower had been ripped off, showing exposed concrete, and the inside of the bathroom door was missing a bunch of paint (likely from a pet that was locked inside). We were planning to stay 2 nights but decided to just drive home after a long day of river rafting rather than stay a second night. I will say the grass area and garden are quite pretty.

The room door did not lock. Big gap at the door jamb. Literally did not lock. Pushed it open as I went to slide the key in. Had to change rooms. The breakfast (as advertised included) is one danish and “coffee in your room” as the woman stated at the front desk as she handed me the danish (did give me 2 of them;). She and her husband were very kind and moved my room and said that someone stayed on that room the night before with no problems.

Nothing in this room worked..coffee pot, NO, television, NO. Hot water, barely! Torn carpeting, danger, could trip! Tried to get manager to move me to different room, said he could not! Homeless, outside and doing drugs in room next to mine, scary! My family saw, came and got me, and moved me to a Best Western for safety, even though I had paid for that second day!

POOL IS NOT OPEN!! See the real pool in the pics. It was the reason I chose to stay here! Check in happens at the hotel next door. Drive down a hill, up a hill and reverse. Clerk was polite enough but was evidently following instructions when he tried to explain the pool was temporarily unavailable! Said they've been trying to correct that on all the sites. (Hotels.com and another booking site both have it. The other booking site says it's a "pool with a view".) He tried hard in a tough situation. I asked for a discount without success. The manager claimed he was unable to accommodate that and offered I could go to another hotel for a pool. At this point I didn't have the time to do that/swim/get to my activity. Checked in, took the key next door. My room 19 smelled very sour and it was coming from the AC. Back to the check-in hotel to get a different room. The manager met me back at 15 and then came with me to check 19. Claimed he couldn't smell anything and became very rude. I explained I am not a complainer and he should pay attention when a guest complains. Still rude. The breakfast? Pre-packaged rolls next door! I didn't bother. I met 2 other guests who had booked for the pool too. This needs to be handled by Hotels.com before more people are ripped off!

It was passable, but don't set your expectations very high. The carpet didnt lay flat, and the flooring by the tub curling up. It's seen better days. The breakfast is only a prepackaged Svenhard's Danish. No prepared coffee with breakfast so you have to make it yourself in the room with the small machine. Next time we go wine tasting in the area we'll be looking for something a little better.

There is no staff on the property so any issue is difficult to sort out, also checking in is also challenging. My greatest concern was the attitude of the owners/staff, they were quite rude with me when my room access card wouldn’t work. It happened there times and at challenging times. When I called them and waited their arrival to fix the problem they were very rude to me, when I tried to apologize they hung up on me. Very disappointed.
